:gc: How many of you were in this? We moved here in 2004 and we were in it. We staged on the south side of 466.

You have made it very obvious in the past why you will not be there ..................

Chatbrat 10-01-2018 06:11 AM

I will not be there even if I owned a golf cart--definition of insanity--repeating the same thing and expecting a different result-- some people never learn

would have never thunk it--Gracie & I have something in common

You won't be there either Bogie Shooter. Even if you know why I won't be there. You are someone I admire although we sit across the aisle from each other. I respect you as a good person and admire the state you are from.

Some of us wouldn't be there no matter whether we would choose red or blue shirts. I don't think marching or parading does any good or changes any minds. It just usually aggravates the other side.

bilcon 10-01-2018 07:28 AM

One can only hope for a thunder storm like the one you created on TV last week. Shame on you.

Chatbrat 10-01-2018 07:35 AM

So right these bogus parades, do nothing but foment animosity- they don't accomplish a thing-they do however: strengthen the opposition

Actually, they show that people in The Villages support both sides of issues, that not everything is about one political party.

CFrance 10-01-2018 07:44 AM

The question was what time does the rally start, not whether you're going, why or why not, and anyone's opinion on whether anything can come of it, good or bad. 6PM Barnes & Noble parking lot.

Thank You CFrance, I was not asking anyone for a statement and don't really care why anyone is or is not going. I see some cannot even refrain from commenting more than once.

News flash - Latest fiscal deficit due to the tax cuts for the wealthy is the largest since the Great Recession, according to Forbes. The IMF warns that the path of federal debt is unsustainable. Estimates are the US is facing a deep economic slump and a possible deep recession.

That is why people rally. That and a host of other issues.

Tax cuts???.............not sure I agree. Not sure the largest deficit adder (if that's a word) cut taxes for the wealthy.

Deficit Additions:

Obama = $6.7T
Bush (W) = $3.3T
Reagan = $1.4T
Bush (HW) = $1.0T

Unfortunately, everyone does math differently. Attached are numbers from Forbes' January 2018 article:

Reagan

Started Presidency: $965 billion
Ended Presidency: $2.74 trillion

H.W. Bush

Started Presidency: $2.74 trillion
Ended Presidency: $4.23 trillion

Clinton

Started Presidency: $4.23 trillion
Ended Presidency: $5.77 trillion

W. Bush

Started Presidency: $5.77 trillion
Ended Presidency: $11.1 trillion

Obama

Started Presidency: $11.1 trillion
Ended Presidency: $19.85 trillion

Wishing folks on here would use facts......PLEASE

As projected in the FY 2019 budget, Trump plans to add $8.282 trillion, a 41-percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. He will add almost as much in four years as Obama did in eight. That would also make him the second-biggest contributor to the debt in history in just one term.

FY 2021 - $1.119 trillion.
FY 2020 - $1.198 trillion.
FY 2019 - $1.225 trillion.
FY 2018 - $1.233 trillion.

US Federal Deficit by Year - plus charts and analysis

And since you are enamored with FORBES....

"The U.S. Federal deficit was $587 billion in Obama’s last year and it grew to $666 billion in Trump’s first year of his presidency. I’ve been reviewing a report from the U.S. Treasury Department, which shows that the U.S. Federal Deficit will probably increase this year (fiscal 2018), could come close to if not exceed $1 trillion in fiscal 2019 and will likely exceed $1 trillion in fiscal 2020 and beyond. And this is before the additional deficits created by the tax reform bill and the just passed two year budget. Note that the U.S. fiscal year ends in September."

Trump's Federal Budget Deficit: $1 Trillion And Beyond

Also.......Don't Blame Obama For Doubling The Federal Deficit

Lets check on what the WH's own folks say..

"The White House’s midyear budget projections see federal deficits surpassing $1 trillion in 2019.

In an annual budget review, the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) estimated that new legislation enacted since the release of its February budget — alongside new projections on other spending and receipts — would add $101 billion more to the 2019 deficit, pushing it above $1 trillion."

Speaking as non political as possible....

Our country is in deep trouble......the deficit, the trade wars...economically we got problems.

Haven't you notice prices going up.....and as the new trade environment settles in that will only get worse.

kathyspear 10-01-2018 11:45 AM

I assumed a "golf cart rally" was a chance to show off your spiffy golf cart. Is it a political event?? Enquiring minds want to know ...

If Florida goes the way of the states that we left to come here, I for one will turn everything into cash & stop paying all taxes-- we have enough assets to live for another lifetime- but we won't live that long-

Golf cart rally

It is a political event. The two democrats in the villages are having a cart rally:bigbow:

Just curious,.. Why do you find it necessary to continuously post about how financially well off you are? Is it to impress us or to impress yourself? Because if you're trying to impress us I'm pretty sure you're not.

That is one thing that has puzzled me since I've been coming to this forum. With as many people that live in TV that have come from NY and NJ, and the east coast in general, I would have expected the ratio of Liberals to Conservatives to be a little higher. From what I've garnered over the couple years that I've been on this forum I would have to place my unscientific guess at about 80/20.

Unlike others, I am probably the only person in TV who worked 14 years without a vacation, or any time off--because of that I was able to retire @ 52 back in 95'

I was taught how to invest ,be frugal when it counted and we reaped the rewards since 95' we I sold my businesses

Again, why do you find it necessary to brag about how much money you have? If anyone really cared about your wealth or work history they would ask.

Why be subtle.

What you mean is ..by his "brother" you refer to OBama because he and Gillum are both black. Do not be afraid of your racism..embrace it.

As far as the investigation into the city government, what do you know that the rest of us do not ?

You need no hood at the golf cart rally
