Glenview Restaurant
What's going on with Glenview Restaurant? We've been away for a few months and went there a week ago and the service was terrible, waited over an hour and a half just to get our food and when it came out the waitress said the fries weren't ready. I sent it back and the manger came over and we just paid for our drinks and left.
Today we gave it another try and another terrible experience. Ordered a Chicken Quesadilla and it was floating in grease. Got up to bring it to the bartender and over heard a waitress say "here she comes". The manager didn't charge for the meal. |
never had a bad experience there..always great service and great food..we go 3-4 times a month
|
P.S...luv their crab bennys for breakfast...crab cakes are delicious
|
Agree with both post, as far as I'm concern that's my place to go.
|
This used to be favorite place for lobster. Has anyone had it lately?
|
VERY disappointed in Glenview since the change in ownership.
|
It used to be a GREAT place for either a dining room meal, a bar snack or a drink. No more, new owner ruined this place.
|
Always liked the Glenview restaurant and bar layout. The last couple of visits were totally enjoyable, both food and service. In fact, I think it has improved from before.

I cannot understand why these places cannot serve good meals. There are two or three places in TV that constantly
They need a good chef, not a bunch of line cooks, but good chefs cost money. It's all about the "bottom line". In my opinion, Cane Garden always serves good food, except for their veggies, but they have a, well-trained chef. Remember when Chef Brian worked at El Santiago and then Hacienda Hills Restaurants. The food was great!. Havana has turned around, because the family that own it and several other restaurants in TV are "Restaurant people". |
Again, same owner as Hacienda Hills, he has destroyed two restaurants--horrible food @ both-loved the ambiance of these two clubs--but the food quality is a complete turn off
|
We have found Cane to be the most consistent. It also seems like they do not have the turnover of servers like some places do. Perhaps Cane knows how to treat employees and to team-build. I don’t know what it is but Cane’s service has made it our go-to.
I cannot figure out how there will ever be enough people to hire as servers, line cooks, etc. in TV. TV grows and grows but the surrounding population probably can’t grow fast enough to keep up with the jobs. Yeah. I know. A lot of Villagers think bigger is better. |
Consistency is key, the Cane has it worked out 1) a real chef, 2) a real happy hour on all items 3) staff knows they will make $$ if they provide real service and the good tippers more than make up for the cheap skates

I don't understand all of the bitching about food. If you moved to The Villages for fine dining, you made a mistake.
|
Our visit there last week had very poor service. We waited 45 min for our food which was mediocre. Very disappointing.

If I don't like a place, I won't go there again but I am easy to please. It has to be terrible for me to avoid. |

At least they don't seem to be ripping off seniors like the Light House......the inflated my check and I did not catch it until a few days later and they refused to refund even after I showed them the evidence, between the charge ticket and what they submitted to the charge company......be careful Seniors.

So here's a question: Just who on the Developer's staff is responsible for approving restaurant site leases? And what background do they have to determine if a prospective Lessee truly has the ability to run a great restaurant? Also, Are there any clauses in the standard leases that provide for termination if the Lessee does not maintain basic standard levels for customer service, menu etc.?
To be the best, you must expect the best. |
I was told that the developer terminated Guy Fieri's--probably for not paying rent

It's simply a bulletin board for members to express their personal view(s), on a plethora of subjects (within the site rules, of course)...whatever that might entail. I personally really like the part that if I don't care for a particular subject or thread...no one forces me to read it. |

We also loved Glenview. Sadly, no more. I never send food back but two weeks ago, I did. We were with friends who would frequent it a few times a week but they stopped going too because of bad experiences.
|
We also use to go there frequently...Just got back, after 5 months and went last week for dinner. Terrible...I sent mine back....no charge of course, but was
very surprised....and when asking around the neighborhood, they also dont go there anymore... |
The same guy that owns World of Beer in TV also owns Hacienda and Glenview. Both CC have the same problem with food/service. It goes to ownership/management.
|
He has no business owning the Glenview and Hacienda Hills, World of Beer are franchises and all direction comes from corporate- all you need to run a franchise is $$ and help that are willing to work
|
Still a good place
We've never had a bad experience at Glenview, always a good place to eat!
|
We loved going to Glenview. Food was good and the atmosphere beautiful. The last two times we have had good service but the meal has not been good. We ordered the Filet Oscar and the filet was so tough we could not cut it! Our server was so upset. I don’t think this was the first problem with the steak that night. We have not been back and not sure we are ready to try again.
|
To the people who have had good meals @ the Glenview-what did you eat-some menu items are impossible to mess up -like a BLT, a hot dog or a Villages cocktail
