Bad parking is very often illegal! :D

I use these on a regular basis. The most regular douche move that I see is carts parking in a space that already has a car, leaving a few inches for the car driver to maneuver out of the space.

I haven't ever heard that phrase before; "douche move".

Topspinmo 10-28-2018 09:11 AM

Be aware of what you wish for. Bad parking is subjective and besides there are bigger fish to fry around here with all the community service which I never see any convicts doing.

Some is done site unseen.
Mrs Bogie volunteers at a thrift store and they have folks doing their community service time there.

Community service is not performed while wearing an orange prison outfit or a sign that says "I'm doing community service", therefore one would not necessarily know when anyone is doing it.

The phrase is not appropriate for the forum.

It's a pretty benign phrase meaning someone doing inconsiderate rude things. Usually prefaced with "What a"

So called “bad parking” likely not worth police time or effort. Another way we put it where I was raised, “Best to let a sleeping dog lie”.

You probably had to be of the right age in the 70's to have heard expressions using that word :ohdear:

It amazes me that some people are that lazy!!! Walking a few more steps is healthy for you! Same for shopping carts put back into proper storage areas.

Saw one today in front of the SS bowling alley! Maybe a case of entitlement.

Maybe if some of these people got tickets for illegal parking, this practice would stop! But then, I must be dreaming. :D

I have seen a number of times at LSL (just tonight was one) CART DRIVERS pull into a spot occupied by a CAR as well. Don't always assume the CAR DRIVER is the "regular parking douche."

Some of the CART PILOTS don't have a clue on rules of the road. They think because they aren't in an automobile it doesn't apply to them.

tophcfa 10-28-2018 09:37 PM

Well, I got a parking ticket story for you. I just got a letter in the mail (at our home up north) from the Miami/Dade county clerk parking violations bureau telling me I am over due on payment for a parking ticket and I need to send in a payment of $47 or I will be reported to a collection agency. I never got a parking ticket so I am confused. They claim I parked in a prohibited area on September 13th, which is impossible. We do have a car in the garage of our Villages home, but we were at our home up north when the alleged parking violation took place. Furthermore, we have never been to the greater Miami area. So we got a ticket while our car was in our garage and we were about 1,300 miles away? Go figure, they do hand out parking tickets, just not to actual violators. Needless to say, I will be on the phone tomorrow to argue my case. Not how I was planning to spend my Monday morning!

That happened to me in NYC many years ago. I went through the "process" of sending proof etc and finally ended up paying the $125 fine. In the end I would have had to have taken to "ticket court" in NYC. Just wasn't worth the time or cost.

Hopefully Miami is easier. A cop must have written down someone else's plate number incorrectly.

Read my post. That is exactly what I was describing.

billethkid 10-29-2018 08:34 AM

There is not much presence anymore of patrolling by the various police departments.

I will take a flyer and guess that the politics/optics/complaints of those being ticketed to the authorities and powers that be has created the lack of enforcement......hence too many do not care how they park/drive/speed.....no consequences hence continued and increasing violations.

wisbad1 10-29-2018 10:23 AM

parked next to a cart, after he left some idiot tried to get into spot hitting side of my cart. thanks for the damage and not leaving insurance info.

Rapscallion St Croix 10-29-2018 11:52 AM

If I were to get a parking ticket on my golf cart, in the license plate area of the form, they would have to write in the name of the an SEC West school, That might actually help them find me as true Southerners are an endangered species here.

You might recall that several months ago, police issued an advisory that vehicles parked on the left side of the street facing into oncoming traffic would receive a ticket. This violation is more rampant than ever, mostly service contractors. It appears this was the Sheriff's office crying wolf. I suggest the Departments keep quiet if they don't plan to follow up to their warnings.

When do we start the thread that says "Don't the police have anything better to do than give parking tickets?"

Just as soon as the first person receives a ticket!

Oftentimes it is the other way around. A cart is parked at the far end of a spot and then a car parks in the spot as well. When I am parking my cart in a completely empty spot, I always park right in the middle for just that reason.

I assume you mean for just automobile drivers?

Unless it is a street legal golf cart with a license plate, good luck on the cops issuing a parking citation...to a plain old unlicensed/untraceable golf cart.

croughwell 10-29-2018 06:19 PM

This reminds me of seeing drivers with disabled placards actually parking in designated slots that were farther away than some available non-DP spots.

croughwell 10-29-2018 06:22 PM

Come into my neighborhood and look at he contractors who park on the inside of a curve on my street.
