What's On Your Bucket List?
I thought it would be fun to post the things you would really love to do, say, accomplish while you still can. Whether practical or not, it's good to have dreams.
Or maybe you have already achieved a bucket list item – if so, what was it? |
I would like to go to Italy. I can forego Rome but I would like to hit Naples and Florence and Palermo. But the real bucket list item is to take a cooking class in Palermo, Sicily preferably from someone's old, Italian Nonna.
|
I would like to have dinner at every TV country club, as well as many of the restaurants that you folks have recommended. (With a husband who would rather cook and eat at home this is not as easy for me as for many others.) But it is achievable with a little time, coaxing, and a new hip!

I am very fortunate that I have made a very big dent in my bucket list. I have been many wonderful places and got to move here in the Villages. I would still like to go out west again and see more of the National Parks I thought the Grand Canyon was amazing. We almost made it to Sicily on one of our cruises but the Straights of Messina were too rough and they could not get the pilot on board so we had to bypass that port.

Wake up tomorrow.

Continue to live relatively healthy and happy long enough to see my youngest grandchild through college. My life became more family oriented back when I reached 70.
At this point I have done most of my major traveling having been to 79 foreign countries and all the states except Alaska. |
Great thread!
If some folks wish came true and I dropped dead tomorrow (:D), I would truly have no regrets as I feel fortunate that a lot of my bucket list...has already been filled. However, if I were to be able to play Augusta National, Pine Valley & Cypress Point (or even one of the three), I would feel like a second cherry has been added...to an already unique/exciting/wonderful life and career. |
I would like to be able to paint the beauty I see onto paper and canvas.

For my wife and I to be able to spend much more time at our home in the Villages, and less time up North. To be able to do lots more scuba diving at some of the nicest dive sites around the world. Also, someday I would like to shot my age at one of the Championship golf courses, preferably at Arnold Palmer because he was my late Father's favorite golfer.

I've been next to nowhere - I once had a cabin in the Adirondacks, then a vacation home in the Catskills, and then finally, a dream home in Brooklyn. So we were always fixing up our homes -- vacations funds went to home improvements -- and when we were done improving we became party animals (always hosted at our house). |

Dance at my twin 8 yr old twin grandson's weddings! Hopefully they don't get married too young!

I already got the Bucket list item I wanted the most. We are here and settled in and happy. Waking up tomorrow would be good.
I really would like the other posters to get the things they deserve. :1rotfl::1rotfl: :boom::boom::boom: Oh, one other little thing, we want to see Cuba and get to know the Keys much better. |
I would so love, more than anything, to meet Stephen Sondheim. I don't mean just meet - but rather have a lunch or dinner so that we could hang out and talk for a spell. Of course, that's not going to happen I think he is 88 or 89 and so many people have wanted to get to him through the years. I cringe when I see a celebrity RIP, praying that it is not him. His lyrics and the skill he demonstrated in so many works leaves me in awe. I think he surpasses Gilbert & Sullivan by miles. Just one very small example:
Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd, His face was strange and his eye was odd He shaved the faces of gentlemen Who never thereafter were heard from again Did Sweeney, Did Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street |

To Not Have a Bucket List! |
I have always wanted to travel around the British Isles; haven't made it yet. And I've dreamed of going into space since I was 10. Don't think that one is going to happen, although my youngest has promised to send me when she is rich and famous. :clap2:

Here Goes
Actually we have driven from Paris to Tuscany and spent time in a Villa, Have crossed the Atlantic many many times, have toured Ireland. Have spent time in Paris, and London. Am Platimum on Princess and on Royal been to Atlaska and flown to little water area like and watched the Bears fish for Salmon. Flew on Sea Plane. Have been to Tahiti and Hawaii twice in the last couple of years. Just got back from month in Med on Princess and it was a big disappointment as it appears the Princess Cruise line has gone for making it a cash cow rather than treating Passengers well. I guess that every once in awhile you hit a bad one? Now for the best: NOTHING BEATS THE VILLAGES AND THE GOOD LIFE HERE. We are the happist here with all that is available and life style, etc. etc.

I recently completed a bucket list item I've been wanting since I was in my 20s -- I'm a fairly new pilot. It is the most amazing thing I've ever done and I love being in the air flying around looking at the coastline and flying over The Villages golf courses. It's so calming and absolutely wonderful!!

Walked across a swinging bridge in Costa Rica. 1/4 miles long and 100 feet above a river. Went white water rafting in Colorado and Jumped off a cliff 25 feet into the Colorado River (with a life jacket). Did I mention I have a fear of heights and can't swim? Also, do you know how much of your life can flash before your eyes in a mere 25 feet?

At the top of my bucket list when I was in high school was to move someplace warm and never see snow again. It took awhile, but I finally got there in 2011. I have had other minor bucket-list items fulfilled, but this was the biggest and the best. Goodbye, snow and cold.

I hope all of you know how lucky you are to be able to wake up everyday at the VILLAGES. We spent a few days visiting our friends and it was like a Disney world for adults. Maybe if I ever win the lotto I will be able to join you all and I will wake up everyday with a smile on my face but like the quote says "don't want what you don't have...want what you do have and I have a winter wonderland for now !
