What did you do in your working life before you moved to this Adult Disneyland. Which I love by the way. I'll start, I was a Commercial and Residential Painting Contractor serving the Midwest. I also bought and sold commercial and residential Real Estate. My Company was founded in 1966 and is still going strong. I retired 11 yrs ago, and Chris took over. Now it's your turn. Len

Your question assumes one stopped doing what they did before moving here. I brought my job with me and have no immediate plans to retire, unfortunately. I work in IT in the healthcare industry.

I started off in Retailing and was a buyer for Bloomingdales then manged some boutiques. Back to school and got a degree in Computer Science. Traveled the country installing IMS software. Took a buyout and bought Camp Gone to the Dogs in VT. Ran the business for 10 years and sold it. Happily retired!

Verbally retired but still actively looking at possibilities here in TV---to the chagrin and head shaking nope of my wife :)

I was the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in the second largest school district in Kentucky. I retired in my late 40’s. I did not like retirement and reentered the workforce as Assistant to the Provost in a Kentucky college. This time around, I am loving retirement!

I have been blessed!

Hey Len, just posted a review on Chris and his team. Another great job by Investment Painters. Btw, our third Village home.

Oh to answer your question...I started a marketing company 1997 from my basement, grew it successfully and moved to an office and warehouse, and recently sold it. Before that I worked for the finest healthcare company (Johnson & Johnson) where I learned how to run and grow a successful company.

Love it but love retirement more!

Mr. Len, Started off in the Supermarket as a kid and loved to Caddy ay the C.C. Then building computers designed for Typesetting then Owned a Copy Machine Sales and Service for Panasonic.

Total change into truck driving for years and the Management of Several Concrete plants in Staten Island and Crooklyn. Finished my career out at a Cement Distribution Company. Looking in the review mirror I loved every job I had and was grateful for all of them. I was a Union Negotiator and a Fixer of Sorts.

I also owned a sliver of a Taxi Business. Wanna talk about fun, I had a blast and made a bundle and Never got robbed. I couldn't wait to go to work. It was fun as hell and all the older people asked for me because I got out of the car like my butt was on fire to open the door for them. It showed in my tips at the end of the day.

Now, Here I am, Heaven on Earth.

Software Project Manager for company that produced CAT, CR and DR medical scanners. I was a programmer in the eighties and early nineties until my boss said one day that he had an opportunity for me as a supervisor. It would be fun he said. I didn't realize at the time how much he must have hated me to do that!

rustyp 12-20-2018 06:13 AM

Yup, we've talked before. 10 1/2 for me about 3 blocks south of Eastgate. I remember Beck's. You remember Pepe's Hamburgers, Centennial Lanes, Travis Burger ? Hmm, must be lunchtime!
