According to my weekly updates my use is 136 minutes per day. That’s work, grocery shopping, and personal use combined.

The answer is on the Internet. :1rotfl:

I need a 25 Step Program :ohdear: To Quit! The only time that I don't look at the phone, computer or whatever is when someone is with me, very disrespectful.

I would love to have a gauge so I know how much time I'm online.

I still have a little tan so I can't be that terrible.

My computer gives me a weekly update on use, doesn’t yours

I resemble that remark and the whole thread for that matter. Writes the guy with 36, 817 posts. I have been on here since July 2007 though. Nucky and some other posters would have way over that judging on a per year posting rate.

Not even close. You average 8.82 posts per day. Nucky's at 5.26. I think GG is the only one with a higher post rate than you at 8.95 per day.

Boomer 12-30-2018 05:32 PM

3575 plus this one -- since November 2007. That is when Boomer first showed up.

Those posts average 0.88 per day -- which seems like a lot to me. But I guess it is nothing comparatively. And that is OK with me. I remember being absolutely mortified when I hit 100 posts. I was being all judgey about myself, like I should be making better use of my time. Then I got over myself by deciding that some people do needlepoint or crossword puzzles, and I call upon Boomer.

My posting seems to run in spurts. If I am avoiding something I do not want to do, either at my desk or around the house, I will circle TOTV and look for a place to land and post.

There are days when TOTV is like theater. Free theater. I love the theater. :)

Am I addicted? Sometimes.

(Right now, I am avoiding gathering up tax stuff. Maybe next, I will go binge-watch something.)

I wonder if those numbers take into account all of the posts that got deleted...

If they were actually deleted they probably don't show on the post count. But closed forums such as the old Politics forum weren't actually deleted so they are still counted.

I think it would totally depend on how the system is programmed. It is obviously programmed to add to the post count but is it also programmed to deduct from the count. Only one of the developers can really answer that. I would be very curious to know.

I can say with certainty that the old politics posts are there because Tal was quite relieved that his post count didn't go down.. lol

The Politics board goes way back to July 24, 2007. I was only on there a rather short time. It is all there as far as I can tell.

I have had a lot of posts deleted though and doubt if they count.

Yes but as you say they were not deleted. Since he keeps track of his post count maybe he will know. He must surely have had some deleted.

Looks like we were posting at the same time.

I confess to being addicted to Youtube.
I just find it more entertaining than the TV programs.
I also read about 5 books a week from the library, play golf every other day, walk at least 4 miles every day, and drink a little bit to much cheap red wine!

I have had various posts deleted when they address a post that crossed the line in some respect and that whole branch of the thread would have been removed.

From my experience it seemed that the post count did not go down when these were removed. But I could be wrong about that.

Impressive.

I want to know which books are your favorites.

And which wine is your favorite.

Golf? Meh. :)

My guess would be that you are right.

Here I go getting into trouble again, but one possible definition of internet addiction would be the few regular posters every day on "the tread about nothing" and "three word sentences". OK, now let me have it!

Wouldn't the definition of "internet addition" involve adding something to the internet?

Don't be such a hater.. lol

Dam spell check, post edited to addiction. Not a hater, just a person making an informed observation and drawing a conclusion based on said observation. I could be right, but then again, I could be wrong?

Yes, I am addicted to the internet, my phone, other gadgets too. Love technology and that is probably my addiction. I am not particularly good at any of this stuff, but when it is not working or Century Link if out I am a bear with a sore head.

My addiction is not ruled by the amount of TIME I spend on the net during the day, but to the fact that I NEED to have it up and working in perfect condition.

We don't throw stones on those threads

You might be addicted to the internet if:
- You are trying to be the number 1 or highest poster
- You seek out the wifi password when you arrive someplace new
- Other people are concerned about how much time you spend on line
- Your internet usage has steadily increased
- You get grumpy, anxious, or upset if you can't log in
- You frequently post pictures of your lunch and you are not in the food business
- You constantly fact check or search old posts and believe you are an internet Dick Tracy
