Jersey Mike's Subs

Hubby and I tried here recently and found it to be a really good sandwich shop. Very fresh ingredients and decent prices -- delicious! They are located in Rolling Acres Plaza (next Moe's). Pleasant young couple from Mississippi own it.

Great sub

My husband is Jersey Mike's biggest fan.....Good and fresh!

Bogie Shooter 03-30-2010 07:45 AM

Look for their coupons in the Daily Sun.

dfn8tly 03-30-2010 09:16 AM

I agree with the posters above. This is a really good sub shop and well worth a visit. You get your sandwich your way.

nkrifats 03-30-2010 03:56 PM

Been eating Jersey Mike's Subs for years and they are the best. I was thrilled to see one in the villages.

gemorc 03-30-2010 06:16 PM

I am very selfish. I've known about Jersey Mike's since they opened. I've known that once they were discovered here, the lines will just get longer.

GatorFan 03-31-2010 06:00 PM

Where are they located?

Compared to what? Here in RI and in NJ I find they are a good value for what is on the sub.

zcaveman 04-01-2010 08:20 PM

I will probably stick with the sub from Publix. It is made fresh and it is only a five minute cart ride from home.

Mikeod 04-03-2010 12:22 PM

Changes to Publix Subs?

I used to agree that Publix made a good sub, but the last time I was there, they had the meats all pre-portioned like Subway and there was only one slice of turkey, ham, and roast beef in their ultimate sub. Quite a difference from previous subs. This was the Colony location. On our trips to visit the kids in St. Augustine, we stop at the Publix in Palatka, and they make a nice sub. So, I don't know if this is a local change, a permanent change, or a system-wide change. We now go to Sweetbay and they make a nice sub as well. Hope they don't go the Subway route.

(Bugs the heck out of me to see those Subway ads with subs full of meat and toppings, then see what they actually give you when you buy one.):grumpy:

golfnut 04-03-2010 12:53 PM

We also like the subs at Sweetbay, made to order, plenty of meat, fresh bread and all the toppings/condiments you want for $5.50. What does a Jersey Mike sub cost?.............gn

zcaveman 04-03-2010 01:51 PM

The Publix at Mulberry does have the meat presliced and in "kit" form. But I think there is enough meat on the Italian hoagie - whether it is the Publix's meat or Boar's Head meat.

golfnut 04-05-2010 03:17 PM

how much are the subs at publix...gn

zcaveman 04-05-2010 07:19 PM

I think I paid $5.50 for a foot long Italian sub with Publix meat and lettuce, tomato, onions on the entire sub and banana peppers and jalape๑os on one half and pickles, black olives and green peppers on the other half.

aln 04-05-2010 07:40 PM

I luv the Big Kahuno at Jersey Mikes with hot peppers (not sweet).
Excellent

twolfe 04-05-2010 08:51 PM

I love Jersey Mike's. They are a little pricier than other alternatives, but the large sub is like 16 inches. I called in a large order and they had everything done correctly. Heard a rumor that they are considering another location in TV--Southern Trace/Wedgewood was mentioned. If you search jerseymikes in yahoo or google you can view their menu, albeit without pricing. I don't have enough posts to add the URL in a message yet!

I picked up a menu in January, so these prices should be pretty close, if not exactly, what they are now (disclaimer I am not an employee or in any way affiliated with jersey mikes, just a fan!)

mini subs = $4.49 to 4.79

regular subs= $5.45 to 6.95

giant subs= $9.95 to 11.95.

There are several 'categories' of subs. Again, google "jerseymikes" to view the menu...

this is an excerpt:

Any combination gladly accepted

Mmmnnn good! Jersey Mikes makes the best subs! We have a Jersey Mikes in Pittsburgh (McMurray) and they have lines going out the doors during Steelers games, etc. I wish we had one in Colony. They also have a sub card that gives you a "free" sandwich after a certain number of purchases. I cut out their coupons which appear in local newspapers and magazines. Also, they offer 10% off when you show them your VHO card. Not sure if POA offers a discount too. :)

Jersey Mike's Sub Shop

What happened, went to use my coupon yesterday and the shop is closed, furniture removed and doors locked.

nkrifats 03-10-2011 07:57 PM

Hate to read that. Love Jersey Mike's

Sad news to hear because we always enjoyed their subs. Being from Jersey we were hoping to be able to share them with you all. I think the place was hurt by the location. You had to know where it was to be able to find it which didn't help with the walk-ins I'm sure.

Sounds like a great sub shop. Hubby and I will be moving down to tv full time mid may. Will be sure to put on my list.

marybb 03-11-2011 04:02 PM

Well I guess jersey mikes won't be on my list. To bad don't like to hear businesses closing.

I also like firehouse subs and Publix makes a great sub sandwich, just tell them what you want on it, will have to try Jersey Mikes though. In D.C. Mangialardo's on Capitol Hill made the best subs I ever tasted.

Mikes is closed....see above posts.

Jersey Mike's are good but ...

The Italian Store in Arlington, VA has the best subs! But, sorry to hear the Jersey Mike's closed.

kaydee 03-11-2011 09:59 PM

What a SHOCK hearing Jersey Mike's being closed. Has been our favorite and will truly miss their quality subs. I just don't understand how it could happen to them. :(

tap190 03-28-2011 02:34 PM

Jersey Mikes Closed !!!

Went to Jersey Mikes today 03-28-2011---Closed !!! For Rent sign in window, anyone know what happened ?

kaydee 03-28-2011 09:18 PM

Since Jersey Mike's closed I decided to unsubcribe to their site. That page asked why I was choosing to unsubscribe so I indicated that it was due to the closing..duh. A day or so later I recieved an email from their " technical coordintor" saying, " if you are referring to The Villages location we are not closing...we are being retrofitted with our new look...we will be back" . I responded back to him saying that if re-opening were in the future plans that he needed to make that known to the public and that a closed sign was not a good sign. He has not responded.

If there is a "For Rent" sign in the window you wonder if/when they'll be back. Maybe a new franchisee??

diskman 03-30-2011 06:32 PM

sounds like a phony story because

I got the impression from this thread that this store had opened in January2011, all the fixtures and set up had to be new. NO the franchisee didn't make it and they are hoping another person will come along and want that lousy location. MY BET THEY WILL NEVER BE BACK IN THAT SPOT  :spoken::icon_hungry::ohdear:
