Mac repair
If they (MMD) are a certified Mac repair station/store then o.k. If not take it to an Apple store. I have repaired computers since the personal computers were on the market, but even though I own two macs (Macbook Pro and Imac 24) they make the trip to Orlando for repairs. Do not take it to BestBuy in Ocala. They are certified for Mac repairs, but the place is an absolute zoo. The apple store in Orlando has the parts, the knowledge, and the warranty. Plus your wife will love the mall...

Which Mall is the Mac store in?
. |
3 in the Orlando area:
Florida Mall 8001 South Orange Blossom Trail Orlando, FL 32809 (407) 858-1310 Millenia Mall 4200 Conroy Rd. Orlando, FL 32839 (407) 352-5551 Altamonte Springs Mall 451 E Altamonte Dr Altamonte Springs, FL 32701 (407) 551-0404 |
Stay away from MMD
MMD has no Mac people there. The Apple Store closest is in the Altimonte Mall, but usually your mac doesn't need repair, just needs someone with know how to fix the problem. May I suggest going to the VMUG (mac club in the villages. I have had macs since 1988, now have a mac Mini, and a macBook Pro.

what repair do you need?
What kind of repair do you need?

My MacBook will only work if it is plugged in. The light on the plug is green and the battery icon at the top of the screen shows a "X". I have replaced the battery with a known good battery but still have the same result...I have to plug it in. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I will probably take it to a Mac store.

I ended up taking my MacBook to the Apple store at the Millena Mall in Orlando and I am really glad I did. I initially tried two Mac repair companies that I found on line. The both told me that the problam was probably in my logic board and that it could cost around $500 to repair. To make a long story short and with a happy ending, The Apple store fixed it for $ 125. :a040:
