P.F. Changs Coming to Brownwood?

New rumor floating out there that P.F. Changs ( or maybe Chang's lite, ie; Pei Wei) has signed a lease for the empty space across the street from Bluefin. IF true, this would be great news. The first major restaurant chain south of 466A plus it would draw more traffic to Brownwood and help every other venue there.

kcrazorbackfan 03-13-2019 07:36 PM

We love P.F. Chang's. When we would play in the Bella Vista spring and fall couple's golf tournaments in NW Arkansas, we would eat at the one in Rogers, AR a couple of times each week. The lettuce wraps are awesome.

If it does come here, we'll make it a regular spot to go to.

mscocco 03-13-2019 08:29 PM

This would be an awesome addition to Brownwood!!! Considering that GOOD chinese food is tough to come by in the Villages, PF change would be welcome.

Admission - my wife and I do like Thai Ruby a lot though...haven't had a bad meal there yet...

golf2140 03-13-2019 08:29 PM

Big money for wraps.

rjn5656 03-14-2019 06:56 AM

I enjoy PFC but not on a regular basis.

I used to really enjoy PFChangs and then things began to taste like they were microwaved, a little tough on the chicken, Etc. I like Chinese food but I am never sure that I am not getting some shellfish ingredient that would cause an allergic reaction so I stay away from all but big chains. I went to Thai Ruby and explained to the server that I was allergic to Shellfish and got something with Oyster sauce in it. I really don't know if Oyster sauce can hurt me so to be on the safe side I went to urgent care.

I am a little envious of people who enjoy trying new foods of all kinds.

Chi-Town 03-14-2019 08:33 AM

That would fill the empty space nicely. It's been a long time. But seeing is believing.

No longer a rumor. It's confirmed!

Thank you for your note and inquiry. We are planning on opening a bistro in The Villages (Brownwood Town Center) with a projected opening in 2020. Hang in there!

Another Asian food restaurant in the south end of the Villages will be great. Best of luck to them. I have eaten at all the Asian restaurants and like them all. P.F. Chang's should be a great addition to Brownwood.

Sounds Wonderful. I've never eaten at a PF Chang's, but I sure will give them a try.

Gpsma 03-15-2019 08:27 PM

Another chain restaurant but considering tge quality of Chinese restaurants here...it cant be much worse.

marjie55 03-15-2019 09:14 PM

Why not Cheesecake Factory too? They always seem to be close by the PF Changs

Lottoguy 03-15-2019 10:25 PM

Best place for a Cheesecake Factory is where the Barnes & Noble is right now. That is a huge building and would be perfect for them. I've have no idea how profitable that store is, but many book stores have been closing nationwide.

My experience after more than one visit to a P.F. Chang's China Bistro in VA before moving here would suggest that it probably will be worse.

Way above any of the ones here now. Very high quality for a chain.

To far north.....466A or 44 much better choice, closer to the tpk....:a040:

TomOB 03-16-2019 11:22 AM

Cheesecake Factory is opening in Gainesville. I don't know if TV would support it.

Except for those that think there is.

We love P.F. Changs and will be regulars.:clap2:

Hubby and I found out recently that PF Changs is no longer affiliated with Pei Wei. We have PF Changs gift cards and have always used them at Pei Wei also. Not so anymore. We were informed by Pei Wei that Pei Wei no longer accepts PF Changs gift cards.

lanabanana73 03-19-2019 02:51 PM

I had the mistaken (apparently) idea that PF Changs food was "boil in a bag" stuff, like Applebee's. However, based on what I found, I stand corrected.

"P.F. Chang’s kitchens are all-scratch kitchens, meaning the food is made from scratch every day, in every restaurant, and the chefs use all-natural meat, responsibly sourced seafood, and local produce whenever possible."

And that makes me even more excited to hear they are coming to Brownwood!!

That makes me skeptical though. There is no chef in any chain restaurant kitchen in the USA. Cooks for sure, sous chefs in some cases, but definitely no chefs.

seoulbrooks 03-19-2019 03:12 PM

No real Asian restaurants anywhere close to the Villages. All a bunch of Americanized courses or fast food. Last time I had Tom Yum soup it was unrecognizable from the real stuff. An authentic Asian restaurant would be welcomed.....about time a true Korean restaurant came to town also, Tampa is to far a drive.

Since when is The Villages Gourmet Club a bonifide source for new restaurants here in The Villages.

Cannot find it the newspaper nor any letter of intent published by PF Changs!

I posted a direct response from Changs. I'm sure the Happy News will follow with a "growth" article soon.

Hmmmm. Does not having a chef make the food any less quality?

I’m no chef but I can cook up some pretty darn good food.

They also posted a new Pizza place coming that The Daily Rag hasn't announced yet either. We'll see. The club's been on the money each time.

Totally LUV P.F. Changs.

JC and John 03-22-2019 06:58 AM

Love PF Chang’s. That said, wiil probably go once but have found they have too much salt in their foods for those of us who have to watch our salt intake. That generally goes for other restaurants we like. Glad to see them come to TV and good wishes to them.

pauld315 03-22-2019 12:05 PM

Been there a few times. Never thought their food was any better than many other places I have been to. They do have a nice decor. They also usually carry a premium price. I might go once but I do really like Koyame for their food and great service.

Viperguy 04-23-2019 05:52 AM

PF's can be good or just ok. Been to a lot of them around the country. Fairly standardized menu at all places. Quality is totally up to the management and staff. IMHO.

We’re gone for the summer but hoping that P.F. Chang’s is still planning to open in Brownwood. Any news?
