Do you have your name(s) on your golf cart?

I was checking my mail this morning at the postal center and noticed all the male names which have been painted on the driver's side of Villagers' golf cart front panels. I did not see any female names on the driver's side.

So, I decided to post a poll on golf cart names.

This is about human names on golf carts. I have also seen some what look to be pet names on golf carts, but these are usually on the side or the back of the golf cart.

Army Guy 04-30-2010 11:05 AM

Yes, mine and my wife's. I am the Driver.

:bowdown:Cart #1 , his name on drivers side, :2excited:Cart #2, my name drivers side.

zcaveman 04-30-2010 11:13 AM

Mime is on the driver's side because I am the principal driver. The wife prefers to ride.

Taltarzac 04-30-2010 11:16 AM

I did not think of the two golf cart option.

I guessed I missed a category or maybe a whole group of categories if a gay/lesbian couple have two or more golf carts.

I am not going to touch that one.

mak44070 04-30-2010 11:27 AM

hmmm....How about 'Me' on the driver's side, and 'You' on the passenger side. Then it would cover all situations.

I have also noticed that most homes have signs with the male name first than the female, but if ladies come first, doesn't it stand to reason their name should as well?
Also, I have noticed a great number of carts with the owners dog name on the cart as well. Should that be on the driver side, hmmmm, guess it would depend if they were old enough to drive

Somebody

Somebody has to get a life. If this is the most serious problem some are dealing with while the country is in such turmoil then maybe they should reevaluate their priorities.chilout

In my world, we handle that with, "Don't ask, Don't tell"!!!!

Taltarzac 04-30-2010 01:47 PM

That would be a hard thing to do with Siegfried and Roy, for example,

...painted on a golf cart. I wonder what Larry King would do about his golf cart if he had names of his wife on it? Perhaps, just get a new golf cart every few years to go along with his new wife. Of course, it would also have to be the newest model of golf cart.

My cart, my name on drivers side.

In the middle

If we decide to put both names in the middle then you would have a problem dealing with who goes on top.

golfnut 04-30-2010 03:16 PM

This is TV's version of turmoil...gn

swrinfla 04-30-2010 04:45 PM

BUT, actually I only have my name, as my wife passed away well before I came to TV.

I gave a few second's thought to getting "Position Vacant" for the passenger's side, but thought it disrespectful of my late wife!

Just a note: over 400 hits and only 3% respond.

How much more interesting it would be if only the participation were higher. The non participants would/could have a richer experience also.

What a shame....the deadly silent majority...

I am surprised that you could get 16 names on the front panel of a golf cart unless they are on many different places on the golf cart.

I am waiting to see a golf cart much like a WWII fighter ace with the number of eagles, birdies, pars, and bogeys indicated on the side???

njbchbum 05-01-2010 08:40 AM

no names on cart - decorated with fiire dept gold leaf of ex-cheif badges, fire hydrant, fleur de lis, nozzle to be added at end of pinstripe that doubles as fire hose.

often wondered why names are on cart - first thought it was just a 'cute' idea - then realized it was so that you would know which cart was yours!

luv our cart!

Thanks for the idea - but since only the 1st granddaughter is in the oven we have a ways to go!

Oh yeah, sorry I'm not out solving the world's problems this morning. Maybe tomorrow:) Oh no never mind, the Celts start their playoff with Clev tomorrow. Maybe Monday!

BTK, perhaps it was Tal checking 400 times to see the responses. :girlneener:

I like the names on the cart so I don't have to remember the names of the people I am golfing with. I can look at the car and say "good shot ????".

Taltarzac 05-01-2010 01:10 PM

Barefoot, I believe it counts by viewers and not per view.

At least, it has been on 906 views a few times after I went back and checked it a a number of times.

I suppose that some of the male names I have seen on the driver's side could be females as well as males. Not Bob, Chuck, John, Dick, Larry, Mitch, Ron, George, Robert, Rick, Brad, Gary, Clint; but names like Jan, Pat, Sam, Connie, Lonnie, Ronnie, Charlie, Tracey, Travis, or Taylor could be female or male first names.

dfn8tly 05-01-2010 01:43 PM

No name but I do have my monogram.

Re: granddaughter in the oven -- Oh joy, congratulations!

Oh, forgot to mention...

Hubby's name on driver's side, my name on passenger's side.

Your welcome, Tony, for not calling him DH.

Russ_Boston 05-01-2010 09:57 PM

Thought Celts played Sunday - Oh well, 1 down to Clev. I guess I'm actually free to start solving world issues after all!

phnzz 05-01-2010 11:34 PM

One thing I love about TV is the freedom to be carefree and silly!

I have Barefoot on the driver's side of my golf cart cuz Fireboy didn't put my name on his motorcycle.

k2at 05-02-2010 03:30 AM

My name on driver side, wife's name on passenger side, and girlfriend in the middle.

Taltarzac 05-02-2010 07:57 AM

E-How even mentions putting names on your golf cart in how to personalize it.

http://www.ehow.com/how_2250214_pers...golf-cart.html

I wonder how many Tiger Woods fans in the Villages have removed his name from their golf cart if that was one of the ways they personalized it?

We have neighbors whose lamp post sign is "General and Andy"; have no idea of the genders?

.

Taltarzac 05-02-2010 10:09 AM

Maybe, General is the dog?

General is a great name for a dog!

I noticed that the Villages phone book lists the male first and then the female. Or, it looks that way from most of the names from which a certain gender is a strong possibility-- Bob and Sissy; Dick and Dora; Bob and Carol; Edmond and Carol Ann; Normand and Georgie; Thomas and Ardis; Richard and Joy; Al and Carol; Frederick and Patricia; Robert and Suzanne; Raymond and Jane; Norman and Lorraine; John and Sue; Joe and Barbara; Robert and Georgia; Dennis and Linda; Peter and Margaret, etc.

swrinfla 05-02-2010 01:07 PM

Tal:

You and I are both old enough to remember (and, possibly, still live by) the convention that the male was always listed first! So, that doesn't surprise me! :ohdear:

As an extension to this discussion, does any one have more than their own and their pets' names on their cart(s)? Mine bears "La sottise d'Etienne" on the left and "Steve's Folly" on the right. These follow my penchant for naming my vehicles. As you may gather, the right translates the left.

If your dog or cat is like Marley, maybe he/she is your folly?? Remember Marley from the book and movie of the same name -- Marley and Me? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marley_&_Me That dog continously got into trouble like a canine Dennis the Menace.
