We're coming to Pennecamp

We visited in April and wasted no time buying a new home. Closing is set for July 7th and we'll be living part time (for now) on Ashwood Run. Sue is coming down on May 13th to shop for everything needed for the house. We will be maintaining our NJ home for a while longer :(. Any and all info such as furniture stores and places to shop that you were satisfied with would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Congratulations and very best wishes. May you grow young and enjoy everything this place has to offer.

Try Bargains and Treasures first and then the Southern Lifestyles place in Spanish Springs... something express?? Southern Lifestyles in Lake Sumter will lend you a bed and set it up for you I think...Is that still going on? We didn't do it, we brought air mattesses, but someone said they had...some time ago. Bring or buy a TV tray and the air mattress and you can at least begin.

I thought the whole "camping" thing was a fun adventure. The first time I invited the neighbors over for coffee, they had to bring the cups.:mornincoffee:

Can't answer your questions, as we purchased a pre-owned, turnkey in TV. However, I'm responding to say welcome to TV and TOTV! I'm excited for you, as I know you love it here.

...also to say, I love your user name. "Skip2MySue"'-- that's so adorable. You're gonna fit right in.

:welcome::beer3::2excited:

Congratulations

If our deal comes through we might make it be the end of June. Good luck!!!

we're coming to Pennecamp

Congratulations! We close on May 21 in Pennecamp. We flew down Mid April to buy furniture. We bought everything in 2 days from Southern Lifestyle. The service was great and prices were very reasonable. Our saleman was Jenifer Rogers. I contacted her ahead of time and she was there waiting when we arrived. She was the best! They will deliver our furniture the day before closing, set everything up so we won't have to camp out. If there is anything that's not in stock, they will loan you an equivalent until your's arrives. Can't beat that!

Army Guy 05-08-2010 11:32 AM

As others have said, Southern Lifestyles, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Pier One, Home Depot. When we furnished ours those are the places we bought 90% of our stuff from.

Congrats and welcome.

We have searched all over creation for furniture, Southern Lifestyles LSL, Showcase Direct Spanish Springs, Haverty's, Blockers, Kanes, and the Asley Home store in Altamonte Springs. They all wanted to make you a deal to one degree or another.
We ended up back at the Showcase Direct store and totally changed our minds about the kind of style we had previously had a quote for from our salesman, Dean Marshall. He took it in stride and worked with us again as if it were our first time. He was a very patient and informed salesperson.
They offer to loan furniture until yours is available for delivery. They inspect and set up everything. We like dealing with a local store and especially a cooperative and informed salesperson. He never pressured us into deciding right away, and worked to get us discounts competitive with quotes received from other stores.
Shop around and give Dean at Showcase Direct a chance to counter your quotes.

Beall's Outlet on 466a at Colony Plaza has lots of nifty stuff for decorating. Go on Monday's to get the 15% discount. Get the credit card and get the additional 10%. I love Bargain's & Treasuers, too, but the prices aren't that low for accessory items

A big New Jersey Thank You

Thanks gang for all the welcomes and furniture buying options. I've printed them out and Sue will be down there this coming Thurs, Fri & Sat. to fatten up our credit card account. To tell you we are excited about this would be a huge understatement.:2excited: Everyday since we visited in April we've spent hours discussing the upcoming adventure. I would be thrilled to pull the pin at work and move there full time but Sue's not ready for that option. So we'll be going down when we can for awhile shooting for 1 more year of working.
We really appreciate your help.:eclipsee_gold_cup:

Skip2mysue, you will find that once you get established in your new home in TV it is very hard to leave. My wife and I are about the same in that we are about a year from being full-time at TV. And it tears us up each time we have to leave. The only good thing is with presently being assigned in Alabama we are close enough to do TV on weekends, on one tank of gas each way!
I see you are from Brick Township, I was born and raised in Linden where my folks still live, and have a summer place in Toms River. Weclome to TV!

Army Guy, We are both life time Shore residents and we both grew up and graduated from Wall High School. We were 1st loves in our Freshman year and after graduation we moved on with our lives. Along came the 40th class reunion and we got hooked back up again and have enjoyed 6 years of happiness since. We even got married 3 years ago and she can still stand me.:p Thanks for the welcome.

Mary,
Pictures would be greatly appreciated if it isn't any problem as it would only add to the excitement level. Sue will be down there the end of this week and she'll be heading out to check on things and also visit with the neighbor and give them a camera to take pictures with to keep for our scrapbook.

In case you don't know

Bargains and Treasures is a consignment shop. It is a great place to shop with prices being less than half retail. They really don't negotiate, the price is as listed and the stuff turns over fast so if you see something better grab it. They will deliver and move in N/C. I don't know if they have any way to keep something for later delivery. Later on if you don't like what you have they will pick it up and sell it for you. It is expensive I tink they take 45% but it beats what you will normally get for used furniture which is -0-.

There are several bed outlets and that is really all you gotta have right away. Most will deliver the next day or even the same day if you get there early. We had our bed delivered one hour after closing.

This is a really kewl place to live...your going to like it.

:welcome:

Check out the for sale stuff on this site

Lots of stuff shows up on this site. It's common for people to sell a house full from Sothern Lifestyles that is sometimes brand new. A snap decision in a hurry and then you live in Florida for a little while and think hummm I like that lighter style furniture. In some cases people buy models but don't really care for the furniture and then of course some move all the junk from up North and decide on a different style.

Check it out.

Ashwood Run Lawn Service

We are also moving to Ashwood Run. Will be there for about a week for closing on June 4th. Moving in sometime during September. We appreciate the great inormation on the furniture stores. Right now we are looking for a good lawn service company. A couple of neighbors we met recommended Acadia but when I contacted them they advised that they could not take on any additional accounts. Can anybody recommend a lawn service for the area?

Thanks for all the excellent information. Sue will be down there on Friday and she will be using all the helpful hints we got on this very informative site. And of course a bedding purchase is also on the list.:icon_wink:

We'll also be needing a lawn service so let them know that there are 2 properties available for new accounts. It may help perk their interest if they know there are 2 new sites on the same street. Although it might not be a bad idea to ask our neighbors who moved in recently. Our lot is 1776 and the house next to us is beautifully landscaped and there is also a new house across the street from our lot. Being part timers we'll definitely need a lawn service so the neighbors won't hate us:duck:
