Mail delivery very slow

We have been waiting for a piece of mail for over 2 weeks from North Carolina..Is anyone else finding the mail delivery slow. We have not gotten any mail for 2 days..not even junk mail very strange.

Average mail from Michigan to TV is 3 days. Haven’t had any issues for eight years.

dewilson58 06-24-2019 08:28 PM

no issues...............the bills come very timely

Ooper 06-24-2019 10:13 PM

No issues here. I would give the Post Office a call!

Something is definitely wrong, as I've never waited for more than week (from even Hawaii)...and you should contact USPS immediately.

Good luck.

It wasn't a complaint on the part of the OP - more like a worry. I'd start with the handler at the mail station. Sometimes they put mail in other people's boxes.

That also seems strange to me, but anything is possible.

And if the other person isn't in town, it sits there until they return.

OP, I recommend that you go to usps.com and sign up for Informed Delivery. With this service, you will receive an email that shows you the scanned image of each piece of mail before it arrives. For us, the scanning is done at the Lady Lake PO. If you had this service, you would at least know whether the piece of mail made it to Lady Lake.

Do you have I believe it’s called, Informed delivery? Every day you will receive an email picture of what’s to be delivered by USPS.
Is there a tracking number available? Frustrating to wait and not know where it is for sure.

Oops, just saw champion suggested the same. Really, it’s great!

I agree with the above 2 posters. I have USPS Informed Daily Delivery and every morning I get an email with what's supposed to be in my mail. Sometimes it's a day off, but in general you get to see what came in to the post office.

Appreciate your suggestions..will look into it. Thank you

I have found mail delivery in The Villages to be excellent. They never miss on a hold or forward. Mail delivery in Ohio is another story. I had to talk with the postmaster to get them to (finally) stop forwarding everything to Florida.

My husband’s Father’s Day card took 12 days to get here from Indiana, per the postmark.

We have much better service in Lake Deaton than we had in Maryland suburbs of DC.

great service here:bigbow:

A couple years ago, I was waiting for an important mail delivery from my daughter in Cary, NC and it took 11 days to get here. Have never really had a problem since.

On our street in Osceola Hills some of us have had issues. No mail for a week & then a whole bucket full. This has happened intermittently. When tried to talk to mail person, he was not there & sub said we needed to speak with our carrier directly. Will try again. If no luck will file a complaint at Lady Lake PO.

Good suggestion about the scanning. Did not know that they can do that. TX

Took almost two weeks to get a Father’s Day card from Indianapolis.

Just started having delivery problems at Willow Tree (Southern Oaks). Mail delivery had been good until about two weeks ago. We should have received a few bills by now (usually by the 20th of the month), but they haven't shown up. The junk mail is always there, but not bills with a timeline running. Earlier, we had a package make it to Lady Lake P.O. but they sent it to Venice, FL. From there to Tampa...took an extra week to get here. We were able to track it since it was an Amazon delivery.

billethkid 08-02-2019 05:34 PM

it wasn't stated whether this is a new address as in just moved or forwarded mail from back some where or a long time resident with a fluke delivery incident.

The mail here is just like clock work as in every other place we have lived permanently. Forwarded mail being the exception but even that smooths out once the pipe line is loaded.

skip0358 08-03-2019 07:30 AM

As for the mail all of my important stuff comes via the computer except the packages of course. As for the junk mail wish it would stop coming. Had a package issue a few weeks ago informed showed it delivered to the mail station after calling the Post Office in Lady Lake the local Carrier put it in the wrong holding box at the mail station.
