Best Place to get an Oil Change

I've ben getting my oil changed at the car wash at La Plaza Grande on 27/441 for seven years now. I understand that they are no longer doing oil changes.

Does anyone have a place they would recommend for an oil change?

retiredguy123 11-02-2019 12:53 PM

Firestone on 466, near Rt 301.

Sumter Tire, Wildwood--whatever, you do STAY AWAY FROM TIRE CHOICE (Colony)--they destroyed the transmission of a talk of the villages member & ripped off a senior citizen for over $1300.00 (Wedgewood)--their history is well known-- drained the trans & and double filled the engine on a Subaru--the trans was cooked

Wildwood tire. On 44 just East of 301. Honest and reliable.

Boulevard Tire Center | Florida Oil Changes and Tires

Located on 27/441 not too far south of 466.

I completely agree with above, have used Wildwood tire several times, excellent service.

You better follow up. Check the oil level before you leave. I find that some over fill, cause the don’t know how many quarts a particular brand/engine holds, so they just dump in 5 quarts or out oF the 55 gallon drum with the with the un-calibrated spigot.

The problem most have no clue or follow up on service they got. I learnt this lesson 35 years ago with dealer. Just cause it’s the dealer or someone recommended don’t mean they are attentive enough to fill it to proper level. Trust but verify. You should also be aware after maintenance of any fluids that continue to drip on garage floor or the spot when you vehicle sets.

Sumter Tire on 301. Use them for everything.

Northerner52 11-03-2019 06:24 AM

The manufacturer's dealer, especially if under warrenty.

Oil Change

i have had good luck with Tuffy's on 441, They will also rotate your tires and usually offer discount coupons. I had terrible experiences at Tire Choice.

queasy27 11-03-2019 08:51 AM

I've been happy with Walmart's service. I use the one on Wedgewood, but Summerfield has an auto center as well.

Both Sumter Tire and Wildwood Tire have great reputations. Have used both for various services. Wish I had found them years ago

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 11-03-2019 09:03 AM

I don't know how Tire Choice is still in business. I've heard so many stories of bad experiences there and had one myself. Yet, the one up by me seems to be thriving.

Be careful at Walmart , you get what you pay for! Yes it's the best price around but they forgot to tighten my oil filter twice and then said the oil leak was there before the oil change? Then my wife tells me there's noise and Sparks coming from under the car? They forgot to secure the oil pan cover properly and again blamed me? Once again you get what you pay for! I will do my own changes from now on, as the previous post mentioned always check their work for oil levels and drips!!

Phillips Buick/GMC, South on 441 in Fruitland Park.
They have a quick service building off to the right of the main garage. No appointment. Drive up; first come first served.
Oil change/lube/oil filter/air filters/rotate tires/etc.

They are very well trained...look everything up...keep you advised...very clean...competitively priced (probably lower than many others), very timely.

I have been using them since they opened several years ago.

Accurso Auto repair on Cr108 in Oxford. They are AAA approved and they do a complete check of lights, tires fluid levels etc. They only use synthetic oil so they are not the cheapest, but they are the best.

Wildwood Tire for all my cars..Great service and don't upsell for services not needed..

Nucky 11-03-2019 06:02 PM

I know this is crazy but I use the Hyundai Dealer in Claremont. Nice ride, catch a nice meal at Goombas while we're down there and if anything goes wrong and it did once they will give you a loaner car. Great place to buy and get Service from.

This is pretty sad when you have to check the oil level before you leave. In my late teens early to early 20s I worked in a gas station and did many oil changes. There is NO EXCUSE for them not to know the capacity of oil in a particular model vehicle. As I say sad!!

Golf Cart Oil Change---any recommendations?

We'd like a recommendation to have someone come to our home to change the oil for us. Thanks.

My neighbors are snowbirds so I do it in their driveway when they're away. Neighbors always complain to them about their messy driveway. I chuckle.
