Golf Rates for 2020
Has anyone seen what the green fees will be for Championship Golf in the Villages starting January 1st, 2020?

 Short of coming up to Taxachusetts and clicking your mouse that's as helpful as I can be. :ho: |
For priority members, the privilege of playing golf on non over seeded courses again this winter, the rates will be rising about $5 per round, or about 10%. Most courses are going from $42 to $47 per round. Will definitely be my last year of priority golf in the villages. The greedy family strikes again.

What was the Winter rate last year? That's what the increase should be based on. Steve |
The rates I quoted were based on last year’s rate, which include most south of 466, and is a little over 10%.

palmer.. priority.. morning wave is going from $34 to $47 almost a 40% hike.... and I don't see any after 1:30 prices ??

My husband is a priority golfer for the past 7 years. He said the typical increase on January 1st is $5 over last year's winter rates. No surprise.

They have to pay for the increased Property Taxes which they caused according to other threads. Now don't you feel silly?? $5, no big deal. |

BTW, you really think anyone cares what you do with “priority golf”? Lastly, I-75 leads you out of this beautiful place if YOU’RE fed up with the, in your words, greedy family. Goodbye.... |

Well, now that the facts are out here is the deal. As a resident member, I am basing this on the rates my wife and I will have to pay for golf this winter compared to the same time last year.
The lowest % increase first and then going along the list to the highest % increase. Arnold Palmer went from 62 to 64, up by 3.2%, Glen View and Lopez went from 55 to 58, up by 5.5%, Orange Blossom went from 46 to 50, up by 8.7%, Bonifay, Havana, Malory, Belle Glade, and Cane Garden went form 57 to 64, up by 12.3%, Evans Prairie went from 55 to 64, up by 16.4%, Hacienda Hills went from 49 to 58, up by 18.4%, and Tierra Del Sol went from 52 to 64, up by 23.1 %. Since we live between Tierra Del Sol and Hacienda Hills, the two courses with the largest % increases, I feel like we are getting screwed on the new rates. Paying $128 dollars for my wife and I to play 18 holes at Tierra, the closest course to our house, seems outrageous. It is now time to start exploring golfing outside the bubble during the winter months. Kind of sucks, we love being able to load the clubs into our cart in our garage and drive 5 minuets down the road for a round. Oh well, what can you do? |
Just a thought. Perhaps the seasonal rates outside the bubble have gone up too. We found nine holes in the afternoon at half price on the Championship courses to be a good option during the season. Fore!
|
It cost lots of money to keep our golf courses beautiful. Plus you have to keep up buildings, equipment and pay all the help. I'm thankful that the courses are available and beautiful whenever I get the chance to play.
|
The improvements to course conditions cost more for labor and materials.

At least they extended the $34 rate from Sept 30th until Dec 31st (that's Oct, Nov, Dec), that was 3 more months of a reasonable rates. A lot of people complained it wasn't the $24 or less we use to see, but that would normally end in September. I don't mind the $34 all summer and up to New Year's. I had often said, up north I paid about $33 to $37 as a senior for most courses, I would love to see that here and I now do for 8 months as a non-priority resident.
The bigger rate jump is only four months and I'll probably still play 18, but normally during winter rates a couple of us in my group will play just 9 holes. The only negative is you have to wait for 1:00 or later teetime. A few years ago we use to switch off to executives, but I found only playing 90 minutes and only pulling the driver once or twice out of the bag didn't fulfill my golf. So then I bought a Clicgear and walked the 9 holes, which was very enjoyable but I had to stop since I was diagnosed with emphysema 4 years ago. However with 9 holes on a championship course, you're using your driver about 7 times and a round will take a minimum of 2 hours and your not restricted to driving on the cart path, and you're not stuck behind some new golfers so much while they learn the game. |

Excuse me if this has been answered. Do we know the 2020 Priority membership fee, single member? Feels like Social Security gives a small raise and Morse & Company taketh away.

Attached last years published rates for comparisons. Some changes listed below…
1. Tierra Del Sol no longer grouped with Orange Blossom 2. Hacienda now grouped with Glenview and Lopez 3. Palmer prices did not change 4. CG, MH, Havana, Bonifay, EP, TDS, and BG are now the same as Palmer. https://www.golfthevillages.com/imag...Golf-Rates.pdf |

I played 175 rounds (championship courses only) here last year, didn’t have to go off campus to enjoy great golf on these beautiful courses and still maintained my low index on these courses you don’t call great. Quote:
I’ll keep saying this to people who don’t like it here - sell your home (probably for a profit) and move to another place (but not before you do extensive due diligence on the next place to make sure it meets your criteria). |

KC, U R so right. The sad people jus want to spread the sad and bring everyone down to their level. Not sure what happened to these people, but I truly believe it was a life event, they are not born this way. "We" try to response to These, prevent their cancer from spreading..............mostly to the newbies. I think MOST see These for what they are. Enjoy Life.............Villagers have earned it. |

Since the thread about the VIP tent I've come to realize that seniors are just like children. They get fussy especially when someone has something they don't have, or at least think they have.
