Russell Stover Chocolates in Wildwood

After seven years of living here, we finally made it to the Russell Stover Factory Store in Wildwood. I was expecting a small gift shop type experience but...Wow. The store is huge and they have a big selection of chocolates, ice cream, jelly beans, brittles with various nuts, etc. In addition to their own brand, they have Whitmans and my favorites, Millionaires. One room has a lot of overstock stuff at discounted prices, so if you don't mind Easter and Valentine's chocs in December, there are bargains there. Definitely a place to take your houseguests.

Also a large sugar-free section.

Is there a tour?

I don't think it is a factory, just a retail store.

Most times, staff will offer you a free sample. If not, ask.

Until about five years ago the warehouse looking building on the right side was all that was there with a small white block building attached for a cashier. The place got a little crowded. I guess about 2013 they added the whole main part you see now and changed the facade into the modern facility. I pretty sure there is no manufacturing, just a distribution center.

This was the old warehouse section that existed

This left side of the building is only about five years old

Their post season/holiday specials are very good bargains.

We replenish our sugar free candy larder every other month.

Is it okay to give your sweetie Easter candy on Valentine's Day?

No...it is just a store.

Mmarr 12-20-2019 06:30 AM

Self guided.. no candy is made there..

dnobles 12-20-2019 06:41 AM

Check dates on items bought from the back room

Kilmacowen 12-20-2019 08:07 AM

Went once and gained 5 pounds. Buyer beware!

Russel Stover

It's just an outlet store so no manufacturing on premise or tour.
The overstock in the warehouse may be a good deal, but do check dates...some is beyond expiration. The best deal are the bins of mix and match in the main store- otherwise prices are close to retail prices. RS owns Whitmans and some of their products are found there as well.

Keep your receipt if the on sale candy is not good, return, with receipt and will refund you.

Yea, it’s just a store but they only sell candy. Probably one of the biggest that you’ll see for 100 miles around.

Bjeanj 12-20-2019 11:04 AM

Yep, it’s like being a kid in a ... oh, wait. *Just* like that!

Inhaling causes me to gain 5 pounds. Fortunately, it’s not just around the corner, so I don’t get there often.

I was told by employee that most of their candy is from Texas.

That’s a possibility, that’s where I live now, & I did see a big Russell Stover building here just south of Ft. Worth but I don’t know if it’s a warehouse or a candy factory! Wouldn’t surprise me. I never looked at the wrapper to see where it was made.

soldjudy 12-20-2019 07:23 PM

They also have the BEST Carmel apples.

Villagesgal 12-20-2019 07:28 PM

Check for cvs, Walgreen. Publix, winn Dixie buy one get one sales. Much cheaper than the Russell Stover store.
