Recommendation on Golf Carts
Looking for recommendations and input for best make of golf carts and pros and cons for gas or electric. Thank you
|
Since this is apparently your first post, you may be unaware that there is a search function for the site.
If you do a search on gas versus electric and best name brand carts, I think you'll find way more info and opinions...than you'll need to make a choice. :ho: |

EZ GO - Elite Freedom (lithium) 8 yr warranty on battery... hundreds of lbs lighter than conv carts. (many courses outside TV are moving to this setup for the maint free aspects and lighter on the course)
You tube it. It's the TESLA of carts! |
Agree - gas - Yamaha Quiet Tech .... purchase from Carts and Clubs in Ocala.

Go to Webster for the best deal ! Believe me carts and clubs the price is the price !the villages the price is the price ! No negotiations at either spot. I think you will find a better price right off the bat in Webster at I 4 motor sports.
I saved ell over $2000.00 by buying at Webster ! Ask for Steve and tell him Paul Darby sent you |

Buy used
If u can find a low mileage used yamaha buy it and save a lot of money

We recently bought a refurbished gas Yamaha from the golf cart dealer on 466 at Santa Fe Crossing and was pleased with everything. I have been told that you cannot get the new snaps with pull technology from The Villages golf shops. These snaps are FABULOUS! No more struggling or ripping fabric to close up the cart. That would be my #1 requirement on a new cart.

I enjoy the NO maint and NO smells or leaks or anything (lithium) is the new tech in carts. I personally like the auto brake |
Of course anything can go wrong, I have a 2010 gas Yamaha have had it 6 years, change the 12 vote battery once, runs like a bear.

If you are OK with a used cart, I would look for a 2014 or newer Yamaha gas cart with fuel injection (EFI). The Yamaha Quiettec carts started in 2017, I believe. They are quieter and ride better than the earlier carts. You should be able to find a nicely equipped 2014 for about $5K. If you want a new cart then I would take a look at the EZGO electric with lithium-ion batteries, as was already suggested. They are not cheap but may be worth it if you take a long term view.

supposed to be 70 miles on a charge- it's whisper* quiet, hauls up hills like it's electrified and requires no water or maintenance. (no heat in garage either - both golf and vehicle electric) prior to my garage was 150 degrees from the hot engine when I returned from dinner.
I haven't needed to charge it , yet- it's till on F (full) and I pay golf everyday. *I can't hear anything whine I'm seasonal use so this option works for me- it's ready when you need it. (same as my 20 yr old toaster) **not a sales pitch- I'm just all about keeping the planet cooler - |
I own a EZGO electric and love it, I got rid of the stinking gas cart. I can go 40 miles on a charge, that's as much as anyone would want to drive at once. The new EZGO with the lithium batteries would be the best bet. When comparing look under the front end at the steering and frame work and compare different brands, you'll be surprised how much beefier the EZGO is made. All gas carts stink and make noise, just follow one in a tunnel.

Not true. Atomic has Li Ion batteries with a range of 150 mi B4 you need to recharge.
|
Talking to some of the salesmen at the Villages Golf sop they say that 95% buy gas vs electric.

Make sure you check Star Cart electric. Easy 50 mi per charge, quiet, won't contribute to pollution (if that matters to you). Yamaha quiet tech is not as quiet as electric (several in our neighborhood drank that Kool Aid). Do your due diligence and buy what fits your life style and needs. Frankly, both will serve you well.

I didn’t shop based on price - I went for best build and was very impressed with carts and clubs final product. Like others have mentioned - you can find cheap carts. Whatever your priority - go with it!
I bought my 2019 in late August - within a couple of weeks I practically dismantled the cart to add a bunch of “stuff”. It took three weeks to get it all on. I called carts/clubs several times for insights on how to take things apart (without creating the breakage). C&Cs customer service is top shelf. In addition to my many calls I also spent an hour in their shop discussing project approaches with one of their mechanics. They treated me like a King before....during.....and after the sale. C&C is loved by many folks - there are solid reasons for that. Check them out! |
Something is wrong with your garage. Mine has never exceeded 95F with 2 autos and one gas golf cart. Perhaps you are exaggerating ??

Do you own a Quiet-Tech? Quieter really appeals to me. Where did you buy yours from? I’m moving into TV in March.
