Looking to rent a vehicle for 6 days 1/12 - 1/17

I posted a classified, but I'm not sure that's the best place to post this:

I'm looking to rent a vehicle (car share) for about a week for a business trip. I've look on the Turo app, but there isn't much available around the villages. There wouldn't be more than 900 miles put on the vehicle during this time. I'm intrested in a full size car/sedan. Please contact me if you are interested in renting out your vehicle for a week! :)

Thank you in advance!

Chris

Why don’t you call Enterprise?

People who rent their car out probably won’t have their insurance cover their car in the event of an accident. Considered business use and most people have personal car insurance.

:what:

I would seriously stay away from renting my car to anyone due to the above mentioned liability, "IT JUST AINT' WORTH THE RISK" Also as mentioned above Enterprise is right here in TV. If you're really in a bind you can rent a small van from U-haul for $19.95/day.

Fredman 01-02-2020 07:21 PM

If u find someone to rent u a car let me know their name i have a bridge i want to sell

retiredguy123 01-02-2020 07:24 PM

I'm confused. You can rent a car from Enterprise for that time period for $200. I really don't understand the OP's reason for wanting to rent from an individual, especially for a business trip. There is no way that I would allow a stranger to put 900 miles on my car for $200.

And Hertz

Koapaka 01-02-2020 10:04 PM

HOTWIRE.COM is your friend.....

Polar Bear 01-03-2020 05:04 AM

I agree with others...why not Hertz or Enterprise?

Cost is reasonable without potential unknown risks.

Cranford61 01-03-2020 07:30 AM

Try Hertz

mike519 01-03-2020 07:53 AM

The IRS, an organization not known for its generosity, for 2020, allows 57.5 cents / mile for business use.
That works out to just over $500 for 900 miles.
If a car rental company offers you $200 + plus gas, that is a great deal.

I've rented from Enterprise at LSL, they come and pick you up and when you return the vehicle they take you home. It's next to Bravo Pizza. Great Prices - Clean Cars!!

Possibly the person doesn't have a drivers license???
I'm sure a rental company will want to see your drivers license before they'll rent to you.

Good point. Maybe I should reconsider and let him drive my car without a drivers license.

skyking 01-03-2020 02:29 PM

His first posting too?

I'll vouch for him if you will give him a full tank of gas.

Rapscallion St Croix 01-03-2020 02:42 PM

I will rent you my car if you promise you won't drive it like you stole it, use it for criminal activities, accrue toll charges and traffic tickets, and leave traces of narcotics in the vehicle. A pinky swear should suffice to seal the deal.

Chris

I just paid to rent a Ford Fusion from BUDGET (full size car) over Xmas but they up graded me to a Kia SUV because they did’t have Fusion. I paid $ 416. for 10 days & unlimited miles, we drove from Denton, TX. to Ohio. Total miles drove was 2,571 miles. But remember it was over Xmas , most expensive time to rent. Now the prices have went down. I really doubt anybody would want to rent a personal car to have someone else put almost a 1,000 miles on their car. If you rent a car & it’s a Full size car or smaller you’ll get UNLIMITED MILES for FREE, plus it’ll probably be 230 to $280. Look into it, because renting from a private owner would be to much liability for them. Good luck finding someone!

No, they don't even ask if you have one. I don't think they really care.

Not my experience.

Nucky 01-03-2020 06:02 PM

Is this a trick question? Did my wife pay to have me break my resolution? Most people wouldn't loan their bicycle no less any Motor Vehicle.

We had a friend who asked for our Golf Cart when we went to Jersey last year and got an instantaneous NO. They were perplexed. Not me.

OP, if you get someone to do this for you could you check back in and let us know about it. I wanna put it in my book.

Renting car

Most car insurance policy do not provide corverage if a car is leased or rented.

Webs60 01-04-2020 08:40 AM

There is an app called Turo that is like Airbnb for cars. But I have to agree just use a car rental place. It would be like 300 for the car and 200 for the insurance and taxes. I rent all the time. If you have a car that is fully insured at home you can save the insurance BUT you would still have to rent for the car if it was layed up in a body shop and that could be months. I always pay for the insurance

The only reason I would think they want a private party is because all car rental agencies require a credit card, and maybe they don't have one. Of course, we'll never know since this was a brand new poster, making his first post and will probably never return.

I think you may be right. I though it was unusual that the OP has been a member for so long, and only now had 1 post.

OlifOlif 01-04-2020 04:38 PM

I am a car available for rent.

Send me a phone letter for details!

Bay Kid 01-05-2020 07:46 AM

I would never rent any of my cars.
