Whole house water filter/softeners

I'm thinking of installing either a Aquasana whole house filter/softner or a Pelican. I know Pelican is out of Deland, close by. Any comments, experiences about either one would be appreciated.

Chatbrat 01-28-2020 04:26 PM

We have a GE whole house water filter & a scale buster--IMHO Pelican is a rip -off-- been here 11 years--no water problems--also, IMHO--no need for a water softener in TV

FenneyFanatic 01-28-2020 04:52 PM

Nova has a whole house water filter for around $600. They are honest, reputable folks who are a pleasure to deal with. The softener is usually unnecessary.

I went with NOVA and also got the softener. I think the total was about $1700.

The big box stores carry combination units, under $600, just plumb and add salt. We have Sears water softener and whole house filter, which I would normally recommend, but with what I believe is the imminent demise of this company, I would go with a combo unit. If you cannot do the plumbing, figure on $300 for the installation.

Have a GE system that came with the house. No problems and good service from TAS

John_W 01-28-2020 05:21 PM

Nova has installed hundreds in TV with 100% positive feedback at a great price. They're a sponsor of this website.

We have had our Nova system for 3 years now. No more smell or bad taste. No need for a filter in the refrigerator since it is a whole house filter. It is not a water softener. Very pleased with the product and service. Just have them change the 3 filters once a year.

Nova, no need for softener

Bay Kid 01-29-2020 08:44 AM

NOVA! 6 years. Best in TVs.

1wietrzak 01-29-2020 09:31 AM

Our whole house system was put in by Kiley Plumbing on 441. We are very pleased with the unit. Also, Kiley has put in a water heater & did the plumbing in our master bath, changing from 1 sink to 2. We have always been pleased with the phone/store staff & the installers they have sent to our home. It doesn't make any difference what unit you install -- just install it ASAP --you will be amazed when you change your filters - YUK!

nova water filter systems are the best

I had my nova water system installed 3 months ago for $599. The installation was professional and took up no space in my garage.
My water has no odor and it tastes great too. I wont be buying bottled water again. my coffee tastes better too.
Nova is the best by far. Call 352 566 2649.
I couldn't be happier with the results and i only have to change the filters every 12 months.
Thanks Nova water filtration systems you cured my water problems entirely.

NOVA...great price, professional install, great product.

Very happy with NOVA -- great quality, service and price.

Whole House Water Treatment and Softner

We went with Kinetico when we replace are old system. This is a very good system that use no electric. It regenerate by water usage and when it regenerates the other tank is sending treated water through the home. I will recommend Kinetico system made in USA.

We live in Marsh Bend and have had the Pelican system since last April and have not had any problem and really like it--the best part is you don't use salt!

Waste of money! We don’t need any water softeners here and the best economical water filter system here by hundreds of villagers is Nova and for around 500.00. I own one and my water tastes great and water is amazing. Just need the sediment filtering here. They install 3 filters in the garage with a meter. Keep it simple! Call 352-566-2649! Many recommendations for them on the Nextdoor app!

Can anybody tell me what the Nova replacement filters cost?

Thank you

What do the Nova replacement filters cost each year?

Carol Fiore 01-30-2020 10:13 AM

We had Aquasana and we didn't like it. The toilets ended up with rings around them. Also the water was not clear. We went with Nova and it is so much better.

I believe it is $125

Phil_Linda 01-30-2020 12:57 PM

Save yourself a lot of money, go with the NOVA. The cost was $600 installed and they come out once a year to renew the 3 filters for $125. It is perfect, the water taste great, no sediment. No need for water softer in the Villages.

The total cost of filter replacements is $125 plus tax that includes all new filters with the service call complete. Recommend change annually
