Ota antenna metv

I have always gotten METV on my OTA antenna for the last 4 years. The last 3 months it has been missing. I do realize the frequencies are changing and i have re-scanned multiple times. I am south of 466a. Has anyone else gotten METV in the last 3 months. I do realize it is working on cable provides but not on OTA (over the air antenna)

I receive the channel on 2.2 after I did the required re-scan. I am also using a Clearstream 2 Max.

were do you live and was the antenna mounted inside the attic or outside?

hillncea 02-10-2020 08:51 AM

I didn't realize I needed to rescan my TVs. Did something change January 1? I used to get channels 2.3 and 2.4 (WESH-TV's alternate transmitters in Orange City) but I don't get them anymore. Rescanning didn't change that, so I'm guessing WESH took that transmitter down. Recently, I wasn't getting channels 9 or 24, but the rescanning fixed that.

We’re new owners in TV, and have always used OTA, and streamed with xfinity (Michigan). What’s the best antenna to mount in the attic? Will we still get good reception that way? I’m a big “Good Morning America” person (ABC), so I want to be sure to receive that as a local. Suggestions??

i am not sure what is going on, i always received METV until they changed the frequencies, i believe they have till summer of 2020 to get them up. I a not sure if Orlando is still broadcasting METV channel 2.2 and 2.3. I have re-scanned with multiple devices and multiple times still no 2.2 and 2.3.

michael mitchell 02-10-2020 12:36 PM

I get it in Ashland

linurban 02-10-2020 09:40 PM

we use antenna and still get me tv. we're south of 44

Chrisw2366 02-11-2020 06:03 AM

Where is the best company to buy and install a antenna. I have heard some antennawill not work because we're so far away from Orlando broadcast antennas. The I see more people cutting the cord and using antennas. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Chellybean 02-11-2020 07:49 AM

DB4e 4-Element Bowtie Attic/Outdoor HDTV Antenna and use a add on antenna for vhf to pic up METV.
South of 44 probably wont need the add on vhf but just south of 466a will.
i would recommend calling the A/V guy Tom to set yours up, he has put in 800 of them and knows his stuff.
You will have to search the forms for his info

FenneyFanatic 02-11-2020 07:57 AM

Custom TV and Satellite

BTW.. You CAN have an outside antenna and it will greatly help with your reception..

out door antennas

Are out door antennas allowed in TV ? I refuse to pay outrageous cable prices here outside of Buffalo.I have a roof antenna, I get 18 stations. My only cable is for internet service . High speed $14.99 per month. Spectrum. We may be relocating to TV in a year. What is antenna reception like in TV generally speaking?

sparky4840 02-11-2020 09:40 AM

Rescan your channels. ME TV is broadcasted from Orlando on 2.4 and Gainesville 20.3. I get both channels living in Pine Hills.

sparky4840 02-11-2020 09:41 AM

Currently receive 80+ channels with about 50 worth watching.

michael mitchell 02-11-2020 09:55 AM

ota tv

I designed/built my own antenna and get 69 stations in the village of Ashland .Cost about $10

jxm473 02-11-2020 09:57 AM

Any suggestions on getting your antennae set up? I am new to the villages, bought a flat wall antennae and get 29 channels, most not worth watching. Thanks for your suggestions

ReRun "Channel Scan" on your Tv Setup Menu

NBC2/ABC7 's transmitter tower has been off air for reworking as of 2/10. They just updated their website saying the work that needs to be done will be extended over this weekend.

You are correct. My bad on that link. I saw a WESH story the other day as well as the one I linked to and assumed (incorrectly) that the tower story was WESH's. WESH is a VHF station (actual VHF frequency is VHF Channel 11), so an antenna that can receive high-VHF as well as the more typical UHF OTA channels is key.

Would you be willing to share your antenna design? I also made my own. I can’t get channel 2 NBC. It broadcast on RF 11 which is Hi-VHF. I’d be interested to know if your antenna is able to get that station. Also is your antenna installed outside or in the attic? My antenna is currently installed in the attic. Thanks!

You will lose about 30% of the signal strength by putting it the attic. Get one that goes on your roof, as high as possible, and aim it at about 113 degrees.

I understand the difference between attic and roof installation but, I prefer to keep it in the attic if possible. With the antenna I built I get all the UHF channels at 75% signal strength or higher. Are you getting NBC to 2.1? And if so, would you mind sharing your design. Thanks!

Chellybean 02-21-2020 07:50 AM

got my 2.1 and 2.2 back pointing at 113 degrees Orlando;
Antennas Direct ClearStream 5 High Gain VHF TV Antenna, 65+ Mile Range, Multi-directional, Indoor, Attic, Outdoor, All-weather Mounting Hardware, Adjustable Mast Clamp, 4K Ready, Black - C5
good signal strength and mounted in the attic with also a uhf antenna
DB4e 4-Element Bowtie Attic/Outdoor HDTV Antenna
you also have to have a UHF /VHF Combiner to combine the antenna's
