Paesano's

Has anyone eaten at this new Italian restaurant on 44?

JSR22 02-12-2020 10:40 AM

I have several times. I really like the pizza. I order it thin and crispy.

splashes 02-12-2020 11:42 AM

excellent excellent everything we ordered has been great

karostay 02-12-2020 11:51 AM

Loved it all 3 times

Pinball wizard 02-12-2020 02:12 PM

I personally like Sammy's on 301 better!

JoMar 02-12-2020 04:11 PM

Love Pisano's, wasn't impressed with Sammy's so since food is individual taste, taking recommendations here can be misleading.

asianthree 02-12-2020 05:10 PM

We liked the pizza, very busy even in off season

REDCART 02-12-2020 05:26 PM

We’ve been to Piesano’s at least six times, and have always enjoyed the food. We used to drive to Pi’s on Broadway in Ocala for their pizza and craft beers, but there’s no need to drive so far anymore. Piesanos has an excellent IPA on draft. I think it’s called Swamp Head Big Nose IPA.

Yung Dum 02-12-2020 08:18 PM

I'm a picky pizza eater from N.Y. This was by far the best I've had in Florida. It ranks with the best of N.Y. pizza.

bandsdavis 02-12-2020 09:09 PM

A number of times either in the restaurant or using take out. Very good each time. We also like Sammy's on 301.

talktome 02-13-2020 05:46 AM

Paesanos very good pizza.

Sammys just ok. (In my opinion)

GaryKoca 02-13-2020 06:30 AM

Paesanos.

Paesanos is very good. Been there three times and always good. Spaghetti and lasagna are particularly tasty. Did not care for the pizza, BUT we had it delivered to a group event with 100 people, so that may have been an exception. Only problem is that it is very crowded and you may have to wait 30 minutes or more at peak times.

Annie66 02-13-2020 07:12 AM

Been there twice. Another New Yorker used to great pizza. Both times the pizza was okay, but nothing to write home about.

dlebuis 02-13-2020 07:43 AM

We love Piesanos. Gluten free and cauliflower crust are very good. Husband had calzone last time. It was huge and he thought it was great. Would definitely recommend them.

dmarti1973 02-13-2020 08:13 AM

Loved the pizza, but a bit pricey. I also enjoyed a calzone. Have had other items as well, but was not impressed with any of them. I have heard other say they loved the pizza, but not other menu items.

alanmcdonald 02-13-2020 08:14 AM

Have been there several times really enjoy the pizza and the rolls with dipping sauce. Get there before 4:30 or you are in for a long wait.

800boss 02-13-2020 08:32 AM

Their Chicken Marsala over sautéed spinach rather than pasta is incredible

jarodrig 02-13-2020 08:32 AM

We’ve been there several times and would agree with the other comments...... very good !

merrymini 02-13-2020 09:25 AM

Pizza at Piesanos

The best pizza down here that I have had. I come from the NJ area and that pizza is hard to beat.

Ppatridge 02-13-2020 10:06 AM

Yes, love their pizza!

Charlie.hanf 02-13-2020 10:40 AM

Love it!

As a New Yorker, I find Piesano's is the best pizza in the area. Others, such as Sammy's, Roberto's, and Francesco, are good. (I haven't tried NYPD pizza.) We now take our NY area visitors to Piesano's and they usually have the same reaction - very, very good. I especially like the choice of several types of pepperoni. It is a bit pricey, but NY pizza is not as checp as it used to be. (I remember 25 cent slices!)

I have also tried the lasagna and it, too, is good. Neighbors have had spaghetti and meatballs and they thought they were excellent.

cathy34787 02-13-2020 11:04 AM

Love it there. The chicken piccata is my favorite.

rsalisbu 02-13-2020 12:01 PM

Fantastic

Fredman 02-13-2020 01:29 PM

Had a calzone there. It was huge and delicious:icon_wink:

davem4616 02-13-2020 02:45 PM

not a fan of their pizza...tomato sauce didn't seem to have any taste to it at all. Maybe whoever made the sauce that day left out the seasonings....haven't been back since. Francesco's on 441 has a nice brick oven pizza.

Spoiler 02-13-2020 09:34 PM

We love the place... good to eat in or get take out from there.

Bill1701 02-13-2020 10:14 PM

Their pizza is OK, not great. It is certainly not NY style street pizza. I prefer Flipper's with Giovanni's second. Sammy's on 301 is also just OK.

Really, cauliflower crust. I love pizza but hate carbs, would love to try it. Is it golf cart accessible or do they deliver?

THUNDERCHIEF 02-14-2020 12:03 AM

Agree. Try the place yourself, and then decide if you want to go back

THUNDERCHIEF 02-14-2020 12:04 AM

Sure drive your cart up and yell out your order

I also try to stay away from carbs. But every time I try one of these cauliflower substitutes, it tastes like cauliflower.

PennBF 02-14-2020 08:59 AM

Great Italian Food

Another New Yorker checking in. This was as close to NY Italian as we have tasted in
Florida. Would always go back.:clap2:

RedChariot 02-14-2020 11:35 AM

All of you that love it, I have a question. Do they offer both thin crust and traditional crust? Which do you order?? Especially interested in the NY/NJ crowd that have the best pizza in the country.

JSR22 02-14-2020 02:40 PM

I am from NJ and order the pizza thin and crispy. It's the best pizza I have had in the area.

tophcfa 02-14-2020 07:29 PM

Does anyone know if they deliver, and if so do they deliver to all the Villages (north of 466) or just in the Lake Deaton area? I googled them and they don't appear to have a website, just a facebook page and I don't do facebook.

Here's a link to their webpage locations site. Looks like the Villages ocation only has carry out, not delivery.

Locations - Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in Gainesville Florida

We're another couple from NJ. We too think Piesanos has the best pizza we've had in Florida.

Lizziemay 02-23-2020 06:21 PM

You hAve to try Bellveiw Pizza before you declare this the best !

The crust at Belleview Pizza is paper thin and brittle, and does not come close to Piesano’s. It’s ok but Bravos, Flippers and Piesano’s are the best in this area. Stavros, Belleview and Takis are just ok IMHO. But like art, it’s an individual taste. People rave about NY and NJ pizza. True, some of it is excellent but certainly not all of it. The best was from Mezza Luna on Arthur Ave in the Bronx.
