party at bonifay cc

to the 20 plus people who had the 40th party in back of bonifay cc today at 2pm. you people did not keep the 6 feet away, I hope no one gets sick because of you.

bagboy 03-29-2020 04:42 PM

They were trespassing. Law enforcement could have identified them and discovered why they were there.

Blondesare 03-29-2020 05:43 PM

Just got an email they are closing all country clubs and Sarasota practice range tomorrow

Beginning Monday, March 30th, The Villages Country Club Golf Shops, with the exception of Tierra Del Sol and Orange Blossom Hills, will close at 2:00pm and The Sarasota Golf Practice Center will close at 5:00pm until further notice. Tierra Del Sol and Orange Blossom Hills will close at 4:00pm.

Our staff will be available to assist you during these modified hours, however if you have any questions please contact any of the golf shops or The Sarasota Golf Practice Center.

:ho:

Blondesare 03-29-2020 06:03 PM

Ok, smarty pants. If the pro shops are closed how do you pay and sign in?

Topspinmo 03-29-2020 06:10 PM

Funny how the districts have shut their doors but the developers country clubs facilities are still open?

NO, THEY ARE NOT SHUTTING DOWN. All the CC Shops, with the exception of OBG and TDS, are shutting down at 2pm; OBG and TDS are shutting at 4pm; the Custom Club Shop is closing at 5pm.

Get your facts right before you engage your fingers to post.

Stupid is stupid.

My Daily Run 03-30-2020 05:56 AM

How did we go from 20 people partying at Bonifay to the pro shops closing...I guess I know the priorities here...

Leadbone1 03-30-2020 06:22 AM

You can’t dictate to other people how they should act. If some people had a party it’s their business. This is still the United States of America. Many of us feel this is being totally overdone. Each person has to decide for themselves who or how many people they want to be around.

Thank you for your "useful" post. We all feel better now.:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Why aren’t people staying home? Why does there have to be a Governor’s order? TV is not immune. Number of cases is going up exponentially across the nation. Dr. Brix just minutes ago stated that US has implemented social distancing too late in metro areas. Take this Covid19 seriously!

It is because of these activities that we will be social distancing longer than we want to. Plz have respect for this virus and heed the warnings. YOU are making it very difficult for those of us who ARE following the warnings....and we are NOT happy with that.

bilcon 03-30-2020 07:17 AM

The party was held on Private Property, soooooo. ( I meant that the group was trespassing) A 40th birthday party? A little young to be living in TV.

...and many more believe it is being done 'medium rare!'

ladyarwen3 03-30-2020 07:23 AM

Actually you CAN dictate to others. Its called Law and Order. Should we allow others to murder people just because they want to?? Of course not. A woman walked into a grocery store in Northeast PA and spit on the produce and baked goods... was the store owner overdoing it to throw away $35,000 worth of food? She was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats. Of course she doesn't have the $$ to replace what was lost. Should she be allowed to get away with it? Of course not!!

People having a party when there is a current pandemic is recklessly endangering others, just like the spring breakers, etc. It isn't all that much different that the grocery store spitter. Its not just a danger to the partygoers. It's a danger to EVERY PERSON those partygoers come in contact with.

Totally overdone? What science do you base that on? The WHO and the CDC and the AMA and the NIH are all saying do not congregate in large groups and to maintain distance. These are learned people who have decades of research and study and experience. I will listen to them and follow their recommendations.

Two of my daughters work in health care; one is an RN and is COVID positive; she was exposed NOT in a hospital, but in her own home by someone who came to work on her computer! We are grateful she is young and relatively healthy and will survive it. The other is on the COVID task force at a large health care system. She is afraid we are not doing enough and that the wave hasn't hit us here yet.

When I see posts like yours, I agree with her. As for me, I will maintain my distance and survive this. I pray everyone else will too

It does affect everybody. That’s how it spreads.by people not listening to the medical
Experts. Stay in. Help everybody so this virus stops. This is overdone???? Have you read how many people have died all over the world. Where did you get your medical. Degree. This is why teenagers don’t show respect or follow rules they see patents like you that breaks the rules.

Fenster 03-30-2020 08:05 AM

This type of behavior is causing people to die all over the country. I hope the people in your group don’t die.

Was it worth it?

Rosebud1949 03-30-2020 08:16 AM

So its up to people how many they congregate with, not at this time ... THERE IS AN EPIDEMIC YOU KNOW. It affects ALL OF US somehow. Whether you are an American or not. 16 folk on the PBall court yesterday.. 20 in a party in a "closed to the public venue", group of 8 golfers 2 feet from each other..... they could infect a 1000 folk in a day. You selfish folk will bring closure of every sport for EVERYONE.

Rosebud1949 03-30-2020 08:20 AM

Ladyarwen3 I TOTALLY agree with you, these are the Entitled folk with attitude....who care for no on except themselves. Avoid them.....

Now that is so true. All my posts about going out to low risk activities are predicated on SOCIAL DISTANCING. The above examples show idiotic behavior and will get all activities shut down.

dwayne18 03-30-2020 08:25 AM

No it's all the people in the Villages business. Say one person in your group is infected & doesn't know it then they are infecting others. I Don't know why people are putting everyone's life in danger. My niece is a respiratory therapist & people better open their eyes this is serious. Wake up people.

When I walked my dog last night at Sterling Heights, there were four couples at the picnic tables, eating and drinking and sitting right next to each other. What part of social distancing don't they get ?

I recall a story from late 1960s about people holding a hurricane party in an apartment building when Hurricane Camille came through. The storm surge washed them all away. This Bonifay party is somewhat similar but just on an extended time period.

Combination of stupidity and irresponsiblity in both cases.

graciegirl 03-30-2020 09:00 AM

Isn't Bonifay Country Club Restaurant closed? These folks went and sat on the porch? Seems danged dumb and sounds like trespassing. Why? The Villages is a high risk demographic. That flies in the face of all reasonable advice we have been given.

how do you know who those people were? why is it your business to check in & report on your neighbors?

You don’t seem to grasp that what they are doing can affect everyone here. If one of those persons was infected, let’s say they go to the grocery store and touch produce or something and then then other people touch it, one person can potentially infect maybe 100 people. And then those infected people can infect other people and it spreads exponentially. Just look at the lengths they’ve had to go to in Italy for example where people are confined to their homes. We are hoping to avoid reaching that stage by social distancing, duh!

tractorman 03-30-2020 09:25 AM

If your actions affected only you, believe me no one would care. This is a highly contagious virus which, it is being discovered, is transmitted BEFORE symptoms appear and so, whether you want to acknowledge it or not, your actions affect others. Grow up and be a responsible adult.

Mmarr 03-30-2020 09:49 AM

In this crisis, Federal, State, and local governments must dictate to people how they should act. The United States will be decimated (in the true meaning of the word) if people feel this is totally overdone. Each person needs to follow directives and "be around" as small a number of people as possible. The stuation in Florida is bad and getting worse because of the wishy-washy response from the governor. Self distance and stay home.
