Where are all these folks going?

While out walking in the late mornings during this beautiful weather we constantly see loads of golf carts on the paths. Often 3 or 4 in a row and sometimes 8-10 in a row. With virtually everything shut down other than golf where's everyone going? Many have no golf bags or are carrying no supermarket bags. Many going north over the Morse bridge/ Is there some secret speak-easy somewhere ? :D :D No problems or complaints with it, just curious where you all are heading? :D

Perhaps the grocery stores in Spanish Springs? I believe there is a CVS and a Target and chain take-out places over that way, also.

Klatu 04-05-2020 06:27 AM

I wonder the same thing. Maybe just sight seeing? (I don't think that is authorized.).

Jayhawk 04-05-2020 08:19 AM

Maybe headed to their job at a golf course, take-out restaurant, grocery store, bank, medical facility, pharmacy, heading to a doctor appointment, and many other essential services as defined by the governor.

You can be outside as long as you observe social distancing so yes, you can go for a ride in your cart. You will find people sitting along ponds or golf courses watching play or chatting from more than the 6' distance. Stay at home isn't necessarily stay at home, make your own choice, but if you go outside be smart about it and make sure you are about an average alligator distance apart :)

We hop in with the dog and take long rides to get out of the house.

Maybe some, but looking at the drivers (and many with dogs and other clues) don't think so for most. :) Just seems it's so "all at once together" in golf cart caravans! :D :D More than we generally see at the same time during "the good old days of 3 weeks ago."

Some neighborhoods are holding golf cart rides as a way to get out of the house and talk to neighbors. Do those in the last cart risk exposure from the people in the carts in front of them? Maybe. In any case, that may be what you are seeing.

Keeping a little distance will help please some. Fresh air is so important.

One of the biggest issues with people in TV is the curiosity about others. It's also defined as nosey.
Maybe, just maybe, they're out enjoying life. Finding a good skinny dipping hole. lol

I was wondering the same thing as EdNJ. I don think he is being nosey, Just curious. I drive through TV three times/week at 0600 on my way to work and see many many walkers, joggers, bike riders, and a few golf carts. People need to get outside into fresh air. From all I've read, unless someone in the golf cart train is spitting in the wind (droplets), riding in your cart, even in a long train, is perfectly safe.

Sounds like we've been reading the same facts.

Just to clarify, I was asking the original question with no thought of contamination as it (likely) is not a problem, just wondering where everyone in carts were going since everything is closed.

If there is some secret fun place I'd like to get in on the fun. :D

Every single one one I saw was spitting out the back. Terrible. Had to wear a protective shield. Oh wait ... it was raining. Never mind. :1rotfl:
