Need good honest mechanic

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic just for regular maintenance such as oil changes and regular checkups for cars and golf cars....please :pray::bigbow:

Firestone on Rt 466 near 301
Goodyear near Home Depot
Wildwood Tire, on Rt 44 near 301

I wouldn't recommend Tire Choice for anything.

The place looks like a junk yard but you will not find a more honest man in Florida. Been doing business with him for 20 years. Don't think he works on golf carts though.

My Top 3 for Honest Auto Repair are:

1. Accu-Tech on 301
2. Sumter Tire also on 301 & 466a
3. Walmart for oil changes

Of course an oil change at Walmart will usually run me $130. $30 for the oil change and $100 for shopping the store to kill the hour. But I choose to see it as THEOREPY TIME.

I am a retired engineer from General Motors. At the “Goodyear near Home Depot”, I have witnessed the service managers trying to sell unneeded preventive maintenance to unwary customers. I suspect that this often happens at other auto service establishments. Avoid any prevented maintenance beyond the manufactures recommendations. Ask the question: “Is that service recommended by my vehicle’s manufacture?”

Jason Acurso, behind Bargains & Treasures on 466 near 301. A young, earnest guy, excellent fair work. We've used him for a number of years.

Regardless where you go and how many spout how good and honesty they are. YOU need to follow up on work. Oil changes are pretty clear cut. They earn my trust by doing good job. I pull the dip stick that tells the story. Should be on the full line. NOT Over and way over is red flag. Little under IMO OK cause that can be corrected easily. You ask how can they over fill it. Different vehicles than take from 4 quarts to 6 or 7. How many actually know the oil level? I bet it’s less than 50 precent?

And don’t think just cause you go to dealer it’s done right. That’s where I find the most mistakes.

We have been using Firestone on 466 for years. I trust them. They not only tell me what I need, they also tell me what I don't need. They do great work.

This guy is honest and inexpensive. I have gone to others on the list and he is so much better. I own a small business and I would give him an A++++

I used Scott Jezowski (352 348 7381) to come round and service my very old cart. Did a good job. Cart needed new battery, as I suspected. He installed it same day. Overall price, about $180. I think pretty fair.

I use Automotive Accutech on hwy 301. 352 748 1500. They stay pretty booked, so call in advance. Small operation. VERY nice people, and very reasonable

Since I moved here 3 yrs ago, I take my car to Sumter Tire in Wildwood. They have 2 locations on 301, take your pick. I like them.
