Need a speedometer
Need a recommendation for someone that will install a speedometer in my golf cart. contact [email]jellybeanrt@yahoo
|
Just a suggestion, but have you considered a GPS speedometer that doesn't need to be installed?
|
thank you
thank you for the suggestion

I have GPS speedometer, with a high speed alarm. It is a heads-up display, you set it on the dash and read it on the windshield. I no longer need it, new gold cart is set for 19.9 mph. Let me know if you want it, $20.

Sounds good, but l do not have room by a windshield in my golf cart. The one l have now is attached to my steering wheel . It is not working as the wires are not connected, and l do not how how to fix that. Thanks for the reply

I can fix the wires.
|
I've heard that speedometers can be wired to alert a driver that drifts left across the center line.:

If you have a smart phone there is a speedometer app that works great. Just attach a cell phone holder to the window frame or in a cup holder. Also has a full screen display for us older sight challenged folks.

A speedometer on a golf cart?
:1rotfl: |
You can use the villages golf cart app

Set the governor (or have it set) at 20MPH and forget it. Those who work on carts know how to do that as it is not difficult. What is the rush anyway? I laugh when people zoom around me on the street or on the cart paths (yes my cart is set for a max speed of 20 MPH). I wonder why they just don't leave earlier if they have a specific time to be somewhere? I believe that if you don't take time to enjoy the journey, why bother going?
|
I hope your cart is street-legal if it needs a speedometer. Speeds in The Villages are limited to 20 mph. So unless you're on the street with a licence you shouldn't need one.
|
connect the wires
|
I would be interested in it if it is still available. Email gkadow@aol.com Thanks.

The villages gps ap will give you a speedometer. It cost 7 bucks and works for roads and golf cart paths

If you need a lane drift alert in your golf cart, you are in trouble. 19.9 MPH Max speed in a golf cart is a joke around TV. So many retirees in such a hurry to go nowhere. OH yeah, might miss 2 minutes of Happy Hour. (Sorry, no happy hours since mid March). Slow down. Remember, you are no match for a car.

Yes indeed

your cart shouldn't be rigged to go over 20mph....

Garmin's makes a GPS navigation device that warns you when you cross the line. Speedometer and all of the bells and whistles. About $100

https://petesgolfcarts.com/wp-conten...88-to-2010.jpg When I bought my cart new from TV years ago and I was getting all the options added, they installed a gauge like this for $75 between the flasher toggle and the key ignition, mine works good. https://static.summitracing.com/glob...82341_w_ml.jpg |
Speed limit in my neighborhood is 15. Speed limit on Paige Ave near Spanish Springs is 10. I went thru there at 10 and had car riding my bumper until he noticed the speed trap in the parking lot. I do find my speedometer to be useful enough to have one.
