When was common sense replaced with personal prejudice

Is it not possible for each of us to double check thru fact check sources to see if maybe, just maybe, common sense will guide you. Facts do matter.

I'm not a smart man, but momma always said that "stupid is what stupid does"

it's amazing how many folks just can't figure this stuff out on their own....

Depends on where you get so called facts?

JimJohnson 05-02-2020 02:33 AM

Keep in mind that Television and Radio Talking Heads are for entertainment and rarely tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

I totally concur...everything has a spin on it today...doesn't matter which side of the aisle you usually are on

amazing how even the Weather Channel has become so theatrical...it's as much about viewer ratings as it is about hard core weather

News or Sleight of Hand?

I've been watching the White House briefings. Some reporters' questions are just ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is how some media outlets report on the briefings. It's as if they were reporting on something from an alternative universe. Spin is one thing, but there is a lot of outright propaganda passing itself off as reporting.

The 24 hour a day news networks aren't all about news. Much of their programming is now commentary and editorializing. Jim Acosta, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and Sean Hannity are not reporters. There are other issues going on that are not being reported. It makes me think we are all being distracted by one or two issues while something bigger and more subtle is going on over in the corner of the room.

Prager U posted a video on Youtube a couple days ago. A young man in California conducted an interview with an executive of Sun Trust Bank. If you are a retiree and living off social security and an IRA or 401(k), you really need to watch this interview. The media won't be reporting on this until it's too late to do anything about it.

So how are you getting up to date current affairs if not from TV or Radio?
News papers that only see things one way, Social Media full of BS or Pool side gossip from the old ladies that's all you have left...

How about the late night talk shows that use-to-be-call "Comedian Talk Shows".

jebartle 05-02-2020 12:20 PM

PBS seems to be the most balanced IMHO. It would be refreshing if there was a news media that was FACT driven. Maybe the "Gong Show", if you lied, you got the gong!!!!

If it weren't for TOTV and TV-News, I would never have known that this is such a horrible place to live.

People in The Villages aren’t smart enough to walk on the correct side of the street.
Common sense ain’t so common.

Wonder if anyone is collecting all these negative remarks against the people from the Villages.
One of these days another remarks will say that people from the Villages are the smartest, most caring and kindness people in the world...
So people, make up your mind, what is it?

fishon 05-02-2020 05:50 PM

Look at the knuckle heads on the bond thread.
Thousands and thousands of dollars spent and they have no clue.
How did these people survive?
They must have gone back to kindergarten and stayed until retirement.

I get my news by consensus, watch all news. Are you saying "no news is good news",. I find PBS a reliable source.

Weather...it's all about who has the youngest and fittest looking women in fashionista dresses

An old adage:
If you don’t read the newspapers, you are uninformed. If you read the newspapers, you are misinformed.
