ACE Hardware Flouts Covid19 Guidelines
I thought the Covid 19 recovery guideline we are under now calls for wearing a mask, when social distancing of six feet was not possible or not likely to be possible. So, I believe I have a right to not mask if I can assure others of my being capable to keep outside the social distance six foot limit.
Likewise, I believe I have an obligation to others to mask if I am not confident that be more six feet away from everyone I encounter. If others choose to not mask, my expectation is that they will not come within six feet of me. I wonder how clear is to other Villagers. This afternoon I was at ACE Hardware and not one employee was masked. I needed help finding an item and I was helped by an ACE employee, who stood within three feet of me. I asked the store if they tested temperatures of employees before they enter the work place and they do not. The adjectives that come to mind for the management of ACE Hardware are for not mitigating risk to shoppers are stupid, ignorant, arrogant, and/or insolent. I won’t be going back to any ACE Hardware store for some time. |
Which Ace? When I went to the one in Spanish Springs I had to wait in line to get it. They only allowed 5 customers in the store at a time. Just as a final thought, if you don’t feel safe in the store, you do have the right to leave!

Lowe's is a better choice, especially with the 10% veteran discount.

When I was standing on line which was marked on the floor to maintain a social distance, customers, not wearing masks were walking very close to me as they entered the store. People have no clue or they just have no idea what a 6 foot distance is?????? |

Sounds like 466. When I was there NONE of the cashiers had masks but they did have plexi barriers (which didn't cover them) but most of the employees on the sales floor (not all) did have masks. |
I just went to the ACE on 466 in Fruitland Park...everything was cool....everyone had masks and the cashier was behind a huge plexi glass enclosure
it's all good |
Wildwood ACE also had masks, clearly marked standing locations on the floor, and doors closed to control the direction of traffic.

Ace in Wildwood offers the same % discount for ahem " Years " FYI . Your Welcome in Advance :doggie: |
I was in ace hardware earlier in the week. One place you want to wear mask. No way two people can get down those isles Within foot apart. On that day it was packed.

The owners and empoloyees are professional, helpful, kinowldegable, courteous, kind and appreciative of your business. They are providing a safe shopping experience duiring this pandemic much better administratred than the big box stores.and should be supported with your business. I have been frequenting this store since 1995 So, thank you ACE in Spanish Springs..

You have the option of going to the Ace website and placing your order. You will be notified when your order is ready for pick-up. You pull up in front of the store and your order is brought out to you.
Sorry to hear you will not step foot in an Ace hardware again. Good luck in finding the same great customer service that you receive from our local Ace hardware. Quote:

ACE on 466 by Publix. I know they all are different. I'll avoid this one, even when Covid 19 is not an issue.

For all of you still complaining about people without masks in the stores, why are you going out? You should know by now that many will not wear them. There is no law saying they have to. You can order everything you need for pick-up.

Do you mean the Ace on 441 in Fruitland Park?
|
I don't believe that masks are mandatory. The only place I've been recently where they did require masks was Fresh Market.
I was quite upset when last week I had to pick up some paperwork from my doctor and the receptionist was not wearing a mask. Another woman behind the counter was wearing a mask but didn't have her nose covered. I would think that if anyplace should have mandatory masks it would be a doctor's office or any medical facility. I sent an email voicing my displeasure with the situation. |

I've been reading all the comments and it's really not helpful if you cannot give the correct location of the store you visited. Here's a map with the 4 Ace Hardware Locations. They are Ace at Spanish Springs, Ace in Southern Trace on 466, Ace on 441 in Fruitland Park and Ace in Wildwood.

I used to appreciate the customer service. But, to me, this smacked of disregard/disrespect for customers safety. Retail establishments of all kinds undoubtedly know these are not normal times and must adapt if they want to maintain customer confidence and support. |

Walmart has also removed their 6 ft distant lines as well as the direction lines for the aisles.

Good idea. You always have the option of staying at home. You sound like the guy I saw in a golf cart with a cardboard sign taped to the front which read "6 feet away". Really? So many people are so terrified of dying from a virus which has a 98% survival rate than they refuse to or can't enjoy living. So sad.
|
Good idea, who.??
Quote:
Cardboard sign? His mobile message board?.? "98% survival rate". Not for everyone. "One size fits all" thinking is not appropriate in this scenario. As for "can't enjoy living", we do enjoy living and would like to continue to do so. As for the option of staying home, even this is not always 100% practical or possible. Yes, some are terrified, and, as far as any of us knows may have good reason to be terrified. But I and many others simply prefer to err on the side of caution. Please don't jump to conclusions or judge us too harshly simply because we would rather be safe than sorry. |
After repeatedly checking Walmart Publix Lowes Winn Dixie they stocked cleaning supplies we needed. I wore a mask for my personal protection and left after paying and used alcohol wipes in car. Employees not speaking up for PPE is their problem can't worry about everyone taking care of my family is enough for me.

Glad you mentioned your experience. I need a few hardware items but after hearing your experience I’ll either wait or go elsewhere.
Which Ace store? |
Not 98% in my age group and with the pre-existing conditions I suffer. In my group it’s 98%, but that’s heading for pushing up daisies, not survival.
Your statistics sound like those we hear from the Presidential press conferences. |
