When will Village clubs be able to hold large meetings
I read somewhere that the Villages will not allow large group meetings in the rec centers until October. Is that true?
Can anyone provide a link to info about this. |
So far all of our clubs have no definitive answer From TV when we will be having meetings since each is over 600 members.
Our small group can meet, but only using The tables that fit in the room at 6’. So it was decided to split up group. |
Nobody seems to have any idea when the clubs can hold meetings again

Phase 3!

I don't think anyone knows for certain, but I believe that the people who will make that decision will please some and annoy others and that those people are probably not trying to do either, but to think what is the safest way to deal with this ongoing real problem, especially since it affects the age group who lives here in The Villages more than any other age group.
I have my umbrella with me that says "I am not paranoid" and I sometimes hit people with it. |

They haven’t even allowed all of the OUTDOOR sports to resume. Indoors you can only “meet” if everyone sits at separate tables 6 feet apart. That makes room capacity about 10 in smaller rooms to maybe 24 in bigger rooms.
I’m kind of thinking it won’t be be allowed in our lifetimes. |
The Thursday Rec News available at Rec Centers Has a few words of guidance,

An old friend from Ohio died from it day before yesterday. Their family is much like ours and probably yours. I have known all four generations of these good folks. This morning their daughter posted on Facebook to pray for their mother, his wife. She is sick with Covid-19. They can't make plans for a funeral for their dad. |
This virus will be gone in the very near future just wait and see!!!!

It is attached to the brain of an elderly female villager. When the meter goes into the green "I feel safe now" range, the whole world will be allowed to re open. |
I thought I saw in the Rec News that no clubs until October. Could be wrong.

I sure do hope so. I packed a great deal of members in my group and it would not be a safe thing for many of us with age on our side. We are using Zoom and newsletters to old meetings and it is working out very well. Yes, it would be nice to see everyone but not if someone is going to die because of it. Get out and walk and talk to people at a distance. It is good for your mind.

They need to do thousands of test before anyone should even think about trying this medication. A handful of test people is not a test for the world. It will take a long time. I worked in that field and know that this is not going to be an overnight recovery or a magic pill is not just going to appear.

Consider The Risks
My mother, raised on a farm, wife of a minister use to always tell us to be careful as "your a long time dead". An appropriate thought today for those who disregard the risks of this terrible virus and pretend all is fine.:ho:
|
Maybe when:
The virus has gone away There is a vaccine There is cure There is enough testing to show how the cases are really going. We get an accurate count of how many really died of this virus (including those that have died at home or nursing homes). The virus is like a snipper, you never know where or when it will strike, it's just out there and you'll never see it. |

I think those who are just itching to have packed rallies/parties without masks, should be allowed to do so...starting immediately.

it will certainly be grand when we can all get together with our friends in the various clubs that we belong to...
until then....we all had lives before we came here...so live your life so, who knows...certainly no one on this forum knows anything that is cast in concrete....we just need to suck it up and wait awhile longer look at it this way...we'll be able to say to the 'new bees' ...'well before the pandemic life in TV as like xyz...' (if they will actually care to listen) |
Here is a letter that all club leaders have received from the rec department.
