Need Glasses prescription filled

Just got prescription for bifocal glasses - First time . Need suggestions on where to get it filled, or who to avoid . Help

villagetinker 06-01-2020 07:55 PM

i have used Hindsight (Pinellas Plaza) several times for both bifocals and later progressive glasses and I was very pleased with the short time for glasses and the high quality.

Mikeod 06-01-2020 08:09 PM

There’s Peepers in Colony. Same group as Hindsight. Great service.

Stu from NYC 06-01-2020 09:00 PM

Sam's has done a good job for me in the past but you do have to wait about a week for the lenses.

I was there today, Sam's Optical is closed, you can't even try on frames because you would be touching something. They said, check back in a week or two.

I bought my last glasses online from Zenni.com. High quality and very inexpensive. They were single lens, not bifocal, but they do sell bifocals. The starting price for a pair of single lens glasses is about 7 dollars. Amazing.

sdeikenberry 06-02-2020 05:00 AM

Hindsight or Peepers...both owned by same family and they do good work.

Villages Kahuna 06-02-2020 05:02 AM

Sam’s Club

JGVillages 06-02-2020 05:15 AM

It’s “zenni.com”

Forgot about them my wife has purchased two pairs thru them and worked great

sharonl7340 06-02-2020 05:19 AM

It is Zennie.com and they have good prices. My daughte has worn the same pair from them for 6 years and they have held wonderfully.

FREDDYD83 06-02-2020 05:31 AM

Glasses

try Zenn on line I have had great success with them and they are cheap for quality , many frames .

bonrich 06-02-2020 05:33 AM

I use Hindsight in Pinellas Plaza for lenses and frames. Also had RX sunglasses made up. Can go in any time and get a "tune up." Very happy.

Thanks. You are correct. The name is Zenni.com.

I would also add that this online store is so much cheaper than buying glasses at a store that it is really worth trying it.

Villagesgal 06-02-2020 05:42 AM

Zenni optical.com. great pricing, great service, try on option.

Pedrocarrasco01@yahoo.com 06-02-2020 05:53 AM

Had mine done at “optical outlets” located at the shopping center 441 and Rolling Acres Road, small shop lots of frames to choose from and I paid $59 for my line bifocals, wife paid $249 for Titanium rimless frames no line bifocals, real happy, most other places wanted a lot more for theirs.

I've had good service from Sam's Club.

Same thing at Wal-Mart.

starman215 06-02-2020 06:26 AM

Lange Optical out by Southern Trace shopping plaza. Great service competitive pricing

drgoofy 06-02-2020 06:30 AM

Costco

It's a drive but well worth it. Great selection and very reasonable prices. I let my Costco membership lapse after moving here but will probably rejoin when I need new glasses...or a new car!

noslices1 06-02-2020 06:30 AM

Zenni Optical

I have been getting my prescriptions filled by Zenni for over ten years. The prices are about 1/4 to 1/3 of what you would pay locally. It takes a week or two as they come from California, but I would also suggest a “Progressive” lens instead of a straight “bifocal”. Titanium frames, the best, thinnest lenses with all the bells and whistles for less than $150.00

wiltma 06-02-2020 06:37 AM

Zenni online is great. Husband has bifocals. Very happy. Sams when they open is great also. Bought bifocals at Zennis for $69

I would suggest you check out Beacon Advanced Eyecare, particularly the one in Lady Lake at LaPlaza Grand South, Bichara Boulevard, (near Spanish Springs). I have used them or some years and always found them to be quite good and helpful. There is another Beacon office in Leesburg, I would not recommend them.

Sams Club and no you don’t need a membership

steelers11 06-02-2020 07:04 AM

I've used Optical Outlet near Best Buy several times. Quality has been good. Very good pricing. Takes a few days to get them.

Cschultz 06-02-2020 07:06 AM

I love Peepers in Colony Plaza.

VApeople 06-02-2020 07:07 AM

We go to a local optician every year to have our eyes checked because our health insurance covers the cost.

However, they have a poor choice of frames, so we take our prescription to Wal-Mart to get our glasses. We have been very pleased with their choice of frames and the three pairs of glasses we purchased.

I get my tri-focal glasses and sunglasses through Sam’s Club. That’s where I get my eyes tested, too. I’ve been happy with them. I got contact lenses through them, too, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the lenses in and out and gave up.

theruizs 06-02-2020 07:10 AM

Who do y’all go to for a check up? The last two times I went to Peepers in Colony but I couldn’t use the prescription they came up with, it was so far off it felt like I was in a carnival funhouse when I put the glasses on.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. John Deaton at Ocala Eye...he's in Laurel Manor Rec Ctr plaza (352.430.3356). I purchased new lenses/frames from them last time...pricey so I'll shop around next time

Once we took our prescriptions to SEARS because we had insurance coverage for glasses...I'd never use them again...awful experience, lousy frames

Pepper's Colony Plaza without a doubt! :clap2:

caram333 06-02-2020 07:57 AM

Clearview Optic in the Mulberry area is wonderful. He did my progressive prescription perfect!!!

claylayer 06-02-2020 08:09 AM

My husband and I both wear bifocals. We buy all of our glasses at Zenni.com. We also get the lenses that darken in the sun. We have never had a problem. The cost is about 1/3 of what the doctor's office charges.

NHsnow1 06-02-2020 08:10 AM

Peepers in Colony Plaza

I also use Walmart for my last two pairs of glasses. Very pleased with service and assortment of frames. They also do tuneups on your glasses if needed.

I went to them also and am due now for an exam. The Lady Lake store is closed, nothing in there. I have been trying to call Leesburg to see if Dr. Berry is still with them, I keep getting a busy signal or disconnected. When i do get through on the occasion, the machine says they are now owned by myeyedr. I will still try calling, hopefully Dr. Berry is still with them.
