New York Deli in Fruitland Park

Last weekend while taking a ride passed by this restaurant.

As a former NYer greatly miss good deli food like pastrami and corned beef.

We were not hungry or probably would have stopped by.

Any comments on this place either good or bad?
Thanks

Driving south on 441/27 on left side just before ace hardware

Been there a few times, nothing special, not even close to the NY delis I frequented while working in Manhattan...

JoMar 06-02-2020 10:43 AM

Cornbeef on Rye with hot mustard was pretty good.

Stu from NYC 06-02-2020 11:49 AM

Thanks, guess we will give it a try next time we head down that way

Agreed! I have to trek to Tampa or St. Pete for decent NY, Kosher style, deli.

I make a day of it... Yankee game and deli. :a040::a040:

I'm no expert on deli's, but Mazzarro's Italian Market in St. Petersburg is so popular it's even included in the AAA bus tours to the Salvador Dali Museum.

Mazzaros Italian Market 2909 22nd Avenue North, St Petersburg, FL 33713

I went to high school a half mile from this place, St. Petersburg High.

According to the Manhattan Special Facebook page, they have a retail locator. It shows two places near us, it's not Mazarro's but Cesarina Deli & Bakery 2575 E Bay Dr, Largo, FL 33771, that's between St. Pete and Clearwater.

The other Paul's Italian Deli & Restaurant 812 E Vine St, Kissimmee, FL 34744, that's near Disney World.

Mazzaro's spectacular Italian deli, looking for the equivalent of a NY Jewish deli

Thank you! If you are ever in the mood for one, Gio’s Deli sells it also.

I've tried Lucky Dill and Jo-Els. Both were good. The link will give you more choices.

Mazzaro's is an excellent Italian deli. They also have the best rugelach and they are 2 blocks from Jo-El's!!!

Stu from NYC 06-03-2020 05:58 AM

Can we please get some more posts on NY deli. But thanks for the other choices

JSR22 06-03-2020 06:26 AM

I have gone to NY deli. The cold cuts are Boars Head which is what Publix offers. Nothing like a NY Deli.

ProfessorDave 06-03-2020 07:42 AM

HIGHLY RECCO... fantastic bakery! Breakfast awesome. The woman who runs it is a prideful New Yorker - and - it shows!

What great pictures. Mazzarro's is worth the stop if you catch it when there are no bus tours. My wife and I were over in Tampa last year and decided to stop there. Believe it or not it was not crowded that day. Amazing! It was great. The food was great, the place is unbelievable, the wine store is well stocked, and the gift shop was interesting. We were going back to TV, so we took some of their food home with us. (I had a cooler with me). I am also from NY, and while I don't compare here and there anymore after 12 years in TV, I thought their food was very good. Worth the stop. PS: It gets very crowded about the Christmas Holidays.
