Protest Age Group/Looters

I am curious if any Village Resident has a family who has participated in the protest and or the looting.

Personally I consider all of them Yellow Belly Cowards like Jane Fonda.

On their own they are nothing. :doggie:

If one of my children or grandchildren rioted and looted I would consider them criminals and disinherit them. I of course would be fine with them peacefully protesting the grievous killing of Floyd. It sickened me.

I'm always seeing photos in the Sun of somebody grandson or granddaughter graduating or doing something great. Will we ever see this one?

That my grandson in the gray sweatsuit, he was protesting the mistreatment of African Americans by the police.

All my family work. They don't have time to protest.

Honestly, I would never want to be a police officer, especially in a big city and especially in this day and age. I got stopped last December for the first time since 1988, it was on Powell Rd for doing 50. He took my driver's license and went back to his car. He looked older than me, especially since I don't have gray hair or a gray mustache and he did. When he returned, I told him I watch Live PD on A&E and I want to thank him for his service and then shook his hand. He handed me license and said Merry Christmas. If you treat the police with respect, generally things will turn out better.

These are cops those who lost their lives while on duty in 2018. Wouldn't it be nice if young people would walk through their neighborhoods protesting the killing of police officers. It's like the old saying "You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar".

Interesting incite.....This is complicated and not intended for hasty judgements.....as I have said over and over.....outside influences want what is happening and are not who you think they are.

"..blames the violence on outside extremists, specifically antifa, a shadowy, far-left movement that he describes as a domestic terrorist organization.

Others who study extremism in the United States say the violence has been purposely stoked by far-right fringe groups, with names such as the Boogaloo movement, which wants to exploit the marches to sow discord and turn the public against the protesters."

Antifa? Boogaloo? Who are the extremists blamed for stirring up trouble at protests and what are their goals?

"A Tampa television reporter was broadcasting live from protests last weekend when two young men in Hawaiian shirts moved in front of the camera and began chanting the name of an obscure white nationalist group, drowning out protesters shouting “No Justice, No Peace!”

"The incident was one of a growing number in which far-right extremists who once organized mainly online have been inserting themselves into the real-world protests roiling much of the nation, sowing confusion about the nature of the protests and seeking attention for their causes.

"They’ve appeared, sometimes carrying assault rifles, at protests in Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia and dozens of other cities, often wearing Hawaiian shirts — a seemingly goofy uniform that, within the ranks of their movement, signals adherence to a violent, divisive, anti-government ideology."

"Some far-right groups have purposefully sown confusion by impersonating left-wing activists, adding chaos to already turbulent days of protests in which local officials have blamed unnamed outsiders and left-wing groups for the mayhem."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/techn...loyd-protests/

"The report found evidence of rising militarism among followers of QAnon, which once spoke cryptically of shadowy forces within the federal government. Now many adherents describe themselves as part of a “Qarmy,” a term whose use doubled on Twitter in 10 days recently, according to the Network Contagion Research Institute. The researchers also found an explosion in the use of military badges and revolutionary flags online and in real-world protests.

"..have blamed far-left extremists for this escalating violence, but the far right also has spread disinformation online and encouraged followers to take violent action against both protesters and the police, according to experts and posts on Telegram, which is popular with some extremist groups that organize and spread messages privately.

"Rita Katz, a terrorism analyst and the co-founder of SITE Intelligence Group, said the far left has bad actors but that the far right is more cohesive and stages attacks on people as opposed to the far left’s targeting of buildings."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/techn...loyd-protests/

Message to me is be careful at whom you throw stones. One day, they will be unveiled and frankly, if you are not a radical, you should be angry and concerned that whether you are right of left, you are being used

Agreed.

I actually had a whole dissertation going on until it became an incoherent ramble.
I backtracked and that was all that was left.
Maybe for another day.....

"Federal prosecutors in Las Vegas have charged three men alleged to be members of the far-right extremist "Boogaloo" movement with multiple state and federal violations of conspiracy to cause destruction during protests in Las Vegas, as well as possession of Molotov cocktails."

Three men connected to '''boogaloo''' movement tried to provoke violence at protests, feds say

Good.

Now if only those with a deep-seated confirmation bias and so much anger/hatred, would just wake up from hate/conspiracy groups like QAnon...and quit being led around by the nose.

So true. One of the hardest jobs in the world. People hate you, look at you like their enemy and who knows what they do to their food. Now they are challenged on how to do their job to protect us from thugs. All for very low pay.
