Good. It was inevitable. Steve |
Those charges seem appropriate based on what I saw on the videos.

The riots are happening not exclusively because of George Floyd. But because of the overall racism that hasn't stopped occurring since the beginning of slavery in the USA, before the Civil War. This past week was a trigger. Not a cause. The cause has always been here. Until the concept of superiority among one group or another ceases to exist, the cause will continue to always be here. And there will eventually be another trigger. |
Sounds like you are tryng to justify riots. NO RIOT IS JUSTIFIABLE especially when property is destroyed or looted and people get hurt or even killed. What has gone wrong with society. There are alot of things that we as individuals don't like but RIOTING is not the way to change it.

There is, however, an opportunity to learn about our society, our values, our goals as a country, by trying to understand WHY they happen. So maybe we can do something about it and prevent it from happening again. As long as people insist that we just kill them all and let god sort it out, and not try to UNDERSTAND things, we will continue to have riots, and hate, and division, and ignorance, and fear of "other." |
No i am not an expert on RIOTS. Anyone with any common sense can understand that riots only hurt mankind. But then again there are too many people these days that don't have common sense and think they are privileged. That they can make their own laws.
|
I am not sure that people who riot want to solve any problems. i think they want chaos.
On the other hand, people who protest peacefully and stay within the law do want to discuss that change that is needed. |

Agree completely. The race hustlers and professional agitators will not waste this crisis. Pretty soon Mr. Floyd will be forgotten. That is wrong on so many levels. These officers will get justice and I hope it is swift and painful. They sullied the name of good and decent
Police officers. Dr. King would have been ashamed. |
now throw them into general population and see what develops.

From my perspective, this whole thing is not about the murder of one man, although that murder is a travesty and must be addressed directly. So happy to see the new charges. I was in the middle of the riots in Detroit in 1968. That was right after the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King, if you remember. Kids in my high school were rioting, right in front of our eyes. It was frightening and wrong then, as it is now. HOWEVER, it was and is today, a way (however wrong) of getting people’s attention about a systemic issue in our country: racism. It went underground for a very long time and over the past 5 years or so, it has been rearing its ugly head again. Racists and haters have somehow received a message that it’s ok to openly show hate toward people that don’t look like them, think like them, don’t believe in the same God as them, and more important, people that they put in a position lower than they are. It sickens me and I will never accept people behaving in that way. So I am all for the protests and will support protesters against inhuman, racists treatment of other people forever. Rioting, burning, looting, killing, are not ok, ever. But we need to pay attention, once and for all. You can never have peace within a society where one group of people see themselves as superior to another because of the color of their skin, their religion, their gender, their country of origin, their sexual orientation, their anything. PERIOD!

Think about this
Please listen to this and think!
Before anybody even tries to justify the reason there race should be able to loot and riot because of there previous injustices needs to look at the Jew's. I have never heard of Jewish rioters and looters! I am quite sure there long multiple century losses where much more horrific than yours. Take after others that have dealt with much worse tragedies in much better fashions! |
Riots are not justifiable. Unfortunately, there are opportunists that specifically took advantage of the protests and had planned via social media (per FBI) to meet for violence and destroy properties, which of course, gave way to looting. They did arrest 3 of these people who are a part of the white supremacy group. You can read about this in any MSM.

Or is that all ok and justified? |

This country was founded with the Boston tea party which in case you forgot was a riot. In addition our first amendment gives us the right to protest and free speech.

Nothing to Protest, All Lives Matter and the cops have been arrested and will have their day in court! As for these black and white crap. The fact is, we can not change the past, and there will be times when both black and white feel discriminated. I remember being in my 20's as a young white girl giving my black co worker a ride home, I did not want to let her walk! I did not feel too safe driving through her neighborhood as several over them stepped outside and stood on their front lawns folding their arms, as my coworker rolled her window down and yelled at them to get back inside. To this day being a realtor, there are times I do not feel safe showing homes in certain areas of both black & white neighborhoods. All lives matter period and last i heard there is still an uncurbable virus that can be spread by such gatherings which puts a lot of lives in danger, and as others have stated, it has caused several lives to be taken already. Not to mention the brick to the horses face. We need our cops to protect us, and they need the power to protect themselves as well as the public. Unfortunately there will always be a rotten cop no matter how many back ground checks but there are way more good. The cops I know all have hearts of gold and do not want to see anyone hurt. These protestors need to get a life! Go back to work, we need our businesses reopen. Justice is being served move on!

My hope is that these demonstrations are peaceful and that the participants can exercise patience. Our judicial system moves very slowly. Case in point: the Manson trial lasted over 9 months. |

For insight into these riots...Have a look at this video. It’s from 2017, but this guy nailed it! He was part of BLM but recognized that the movement had been hijacked. Civil unrest/ nov. 4th @kingchaziel - YouTube

One thing that wiil be interesting, will be finding any sort of neutral jury for the trial of the four ex policemen.
Thay have already been found guilty on all counts by the media, and a large majority of the public. And for sure, if the accused do not go down for the max on all counts, or God forbid get off, what is left standing after the latest 'protest,' wont be after that verdict or sentencing. |

Given the laws that have been passed and the backing of a strong and coveted union, even the very worst of cops (even with overwhelming evidence against them)...have been hard to successfully prosecute.
Everyone in the "System" knows this and gives the bad ones, even more confidence...that they can get away with what they do. And the good cops (the overwhelming majority) also know this, so peer pressure and history...keep them from speaking up. That is but one area, where more needs to be done if fair and equal justice for ALL...is to ever prevail. :( |
