Might be too soon to congregate in close quarters INDOORS

I'm wondering what is going to happen when thousands of people descend on Jacksonville for the RNC in an INDOOR venue. Hopefully masks will be required but I would not bet the farm on that.

This is what happened recently in a Jacksonville bar.........

There will be a spike but that's OK - they signed a waiver.

davem4616 06-17-2020 11:31 AM

I too read about the 16 young adults that partied at a bar recently, no masks on, and they all came down with covid-19

reinforced why we're not going to the bars in the squares for happy hour

You are just being facetious, right? Signing a waver protects the promoters of the rallies. All those people who test positive will in turn go out into the community and pass the virus on to unsuspecting people because those rally attendees will be either pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic transmitters of the virus. It is a lose lose situation. Hoping he hasn't shot himself in the foot with this blunder.

Seven of the bartenders also tested positive. There was no social distancing. I understand why no masks were worn by the patrons but the bartenders should have all been masked.

I just heard on the news tonight that attendees of the rally in Tulsa, OK are not required to wear masks. How in the world can there not be massive transmission of this virus at this rally?

Adults can make their own decisions about their health!

Considered collateral damage to get stuff back to "normal" and feed the economy

Close quarters are close quarters .. If you havent seen mass outbreaks in Seattle or Atlanta or Portland.. you shouldnt be worried about the RNC .. They are taking a heck of a lot more precaution than the "peaceful" protestors have in the other cities

Bay Kid 06-20-2020 06:15 AM

Protesters by the thousands all over the country, everyday, ever night and you are worried about this. I wonder why....

billethkid 06-20-2020 07:19 AM

No more of an event of concern than all the thousands of thousands of marching, shoulder to shoulder protestors for the past month.

Why is the concern not in existence for these gatherings that are significantly bigger and run longer????

The media, special interest groups and political influence is continually fooling America to buy into their agenda.

They've adapted same standards as City Fire, Red Sauce concerning social distancing
That goes unnoticed..Must be acceptable

Rallies are indoors. Protests are outdoors. Hasn't it been determined that virus transmission outdoors is not nearly as easy as it is indoors? I'm sure I have heard and read this.

Collateral damage, hmmm?, as long as it's not you or yours in a body bag!! Ugh! Not on board with that.

I sure the heck am. The flu already wiped out what was a great economy. Now you want the flu to bury it?

Since there is zero wearing of masks today in Tulsa, it will probably stay the same for the GOP Convention. Only the media and any protestors will wear masks.

I'm thinking today, Darwin will have his day.

Busy guy, Darwin, with all the marches too. I find marching for anything is useless and just gets everyone's knickers in a bigger hitch.

I realize I am the only person on this planet who feels this way, but I am happy with my views in my old age. ;)

Neither are my spouse and I and many of our friends. Statements like these are what is the most worrisome about this world.
