Need recommendation for Lanai enclosure

We are considering converting our Lanai into a "Florida Room". Any recommendations for a reputable company would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for posting. We are also looking to do this but want to wait until it is safe to have workers in our home.

Custom Windows Leesburg just installed beautiful windows on our lanai; my friend had sliders and darkening screens installed; her neighbor had sliders and my neighbor will have picture windows done within the next month. Reputable and on time. Call Erik (352) 787-9797, tell them Debbie from Marsh Bend sent you! Enjoy.

T&D....converted ours 5 years ago and have zero call back for issues. However, if you are looking for low bid check out the recommendations from the other posters.

we were very pleased with the design and job done by All Season Rooms Chip Vandall is the owner, his son is the crew leader 352.322.2298

they clean up every day, the quality is great and the price was fair

two immediate neighbors tell us that they wish they had gone with All Seasons vs. the firms that they went with

They are very busy with new homes, not much focus on re-mod's.

I think they have a separate group for re-mods and maintenance...we had a request a couple months ago that they responded to quickly although we decided to push off the project for now. I agree that the time to completion might be extended, 5 years ago it was a three month wait but they gave you the date in the beginning and met each benchmark. But, that was 5 years ago.

They are separate companies......but the focus is where the money is.....South of 44.

We also used Custom Windows from Leesburg, they had the best quote (we had 4 quotes) and the lanai windows installation is scheduled to happen next week. Can't wait! I'm in McClure and you can check back next week if you want to come over and see their work!

Lanai enclosure

T&D were to busy to give us an estimate so we used Elite.

If we did it again, I’d not go with sliders but windows 2/3rd up from bottom. The bottom would be solid. Water when there was driving rain used to come in with sliders. The 2/3 windows version IMHO looks more solid and you don’t look out the bottom anyway. Get a 36” door at one end .

I agree. The bottom always get dirty from rain, debris splashing up. With solid bottom you can have electric outlets installed, big plus. Also get removable screens otherwise you will have to remove the windows to clean , they are very heavy.

Does custom windows do the solid window bottom with sliding windows? Double or single pane? Thanks

Go to see people's homes that have been done. We are very happy with the heavy glass that is truly a barrier against the heat. Get three quotes and they all will give you a good, better, best. Ours works effectively and we have not needed an additional air conditioning unit. We just open our sliders and French door and our air cools it. We are more than happy, however it took much longer than we expected. We did have a repair and it went seamlessly.

If you would like to see it now, I won't welcome you in but you can see the outside and I will leave an outside slider door open so you can peek in. We are trying very hard to stay away from others, even nice folks who we would usually welcome in.

Stu from NYC 08-13-2020 08:23 AM

We have our glass for Florida room on order with CW.

They do not have to enter the rest of our house to do the job. That convinced us to do it now.

D & D Village construction

I highly recommend D&D Village Construction.
Give Dennis Fouts a call, he is very good to work with.
We had a 20x20 room addition and lanai enclosure at two different homes completed by Dennis and D&D Village Construction.
Very pleased with their crews, workmanship and overall attention to details. Another added plus was their total costs were less than some other big name companies!

Custom Windows in Leesburg off 441. Go to their showroom and get a quote. We 're pleased with ours and they are 6 years old, full length sliders with the dark screen because it faces west.
You will not lose the use of your lanai while you wait for windows. Some companies come in and rip it apart and disappear for months, not Custom Windows.

You don't have to have any contact with them. Custom Windows will come and measure and can talk to you thru glass and when they come back to do it, they are outside and you are inside as well.
That's one job that can be done safely.

We had all carpeting replaced inside our home and we stayed on lanai while it was done and workers wore masks. Perfectly safe.

Enclosing lanai

Another vote for Custom Windows Leesburg. My brother used them and I am using them. Great work, efficient and very nice.

See my later post on this thread. When we found out that they didnt need to come inside our house we went ahead and ordered the windows. Should be done in just under a month.
