Food for thought, or maybe a call to arms . . . .

Suppose a militant group prone to and advocating civil disturbance, violence, looting and destruction were to find a target for their next insurrection. An area or community let’s say that was nearly 100% White. Maybe located in the “Racist South”. One where “Privilege” was on display and throw in a population made up of apparently old, weak and defenseless individuals.

Might sound like an easy target for ANTIFA, BLM, or another movement looking for attention to their oppressed existence in this racist Country. It might also sound like someone or some place you are familiar with too.

Food for thought or a call to arms . . . . . remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.

If your considering here in the Villages would think too many people here have firearms and know how to use them.

It's a fairly conservative place. They may want to research a more soft target.

Agreed but situational awareness is always a good idea. I've thought about the very same thing, honestly don't know why it hasn't happened yet.

I would worry more about White Naturalists who pretend to be antifa or another group. A lot of them in Florida

White Naturalists are an ok group I've found anyway. lol

One even told me what type of tree I had in my front yard.

Now the white naturists... they come out swinging!

Just stock up on "claymore" simulated models & put them around your house-

People would have to be nuts to try any planned attack here--they're totally outgunned, lots of retired LEO's & military here

I had one with a brush on top for my shoes at the front door. Only a few understood what it was. lol

Last night I was trying to put myself in another’s shoes.

The shoes I tried on were worn with a blue shirt with a badge on it.

I thought about how demoralizing and bizarrely upside-down it must feel to have the ‘Big guys’ Like the Mayor or the Governor tell you to

arrest people who are trying to earn a living like shop owners & other people who aren’t wearing masks or staying 6 feet apart

AND then be told by those same decision makers

to stand-down & watch rioters & looters who are stealIng & destroying & endangering the future of entire communities, if not the nation

Crazy.

Gave me a whole new insight into their job requirements.

It not about race, the way things are going, its about criminals trying to use the guise of social & historical justice as a cover for criminality-there are plenty of retired villagers of color who have served in the military or were LEO's --I'm willing to bet they too will do "the right thing" if push comes to shove

loved the admonition the Sheriff of Polk county gave rioters when they threatened to loot the suburban areas in his county.

Not enough liberal white running dogs here to worry about. Wildhood isnt an area to riot, not enough good stores.

I wouldn't consider the Villages a soft target. One would be hard pressed to find a place with a larger percentage of retired LEO's and Military who are all very well trained in how to use a firearm.

Yep. We should have more sheriffs like him. Encourages people to arm and protect themselves. Plus, gives the cops the tools to do their job AND backs them up. I was hoping some of the idiots would try to start something there. Would have made for a fantastic evening show watching them be chased out of town

What scares me is the thought of a bunch of old white men hopped up on medication waving their guns around thinking some group is trying to take away their stuff. OMG people.

Did you see the article in this morning’s paper about the guy with license plate lights out, an expired drivers’, and bags of heroin and cocaine in his pocket who tried to evade two sheriff’s deputies when they tried to pull him over, leaped out of his truck and tried to outrun them, then got tased and arrested?

I wonder if he thought as he ran that these might be his last moments of life. And I wonder if the deputies were thinking that these might be the last moments of their careers.

What a strange world. I want to thank the deputies for both keeping us safe and keeping their guns holstered. It must have been terrifying for all involved. I wonder what the sentence will be. Probably it will be suspended.

This is not a war against white people. It is a war against history and education. In history we learn about our failures and successes in education we learn from them and strive not to repeat the failures. To the rioters the only way for change is destruction but they, both black and white, have no plans to make effective changes for good or for that matter no ambitions to put the work into that change peacefully.
For myself I will open my arms and mind to those who want to discuss and try and make peaceful changes for the good of all but beware those who force their actions of violence upon my family or myself. I will protect all that I have worked for and loved ones and face the consequences for the defense of such.

It would be Armegeddon here. When the Villages gun club was first meeting, the line was out the door for people to join up. LOL, the problem would be to avoid the crossfire.

You have to love Sheriff Grady Judd, he said, “you loot in Polk County, prepare to be shot” (I don’t exactly remember the words, but that is what he meant)

If you’re talking about TV, just remember American Legion Post 347 is the largest Legion post in the country and there are more Veterans in TV than you can shake a stick at and also, hundreds of members in the Straight Shooters Club and Over 100,000 firearms in the hands of Villagers, so they would be making a huge mistake if they thought a bunch of “old people” would be an easy target.

You obviously don't know about the reality of owning a licensed gun. Their are so many rules about having, storing and using them that it makes it very difficult to have them at the ready. Those who own them usually practice at the range where there are many safety requirements. It's not like the movies (made by liberal Hollywood producers who supposedly are against guns but make billions off the movies they make with more shooting and killing than in a Chicago weekend). All the guns owners I know are very safety conscience and responsible. HOWEVER if pushed against the wall they DO know how to use their guns.

We all know the facts. More whites are killed by cops than blacks and there are some untrained or bad cops out there. These groups choose to ignore facts and make it their objective to make it all look much worse than it is. It wouldn't surprise me that they would target the Villages. Just hope the governor wouldn't hesitate to bring in the National Guard to stop this stupid, evil action.

I do not care about anyone's reasoning in regards to their motivation for rioting and looting. If they cross my path with violent intention, they will be put down like any rabid animal, period. If he/she happens to be black, white, red or yellow and think they are making a statement, then they are in for a big disappointment because I don't see color when someone is breaking the law and/or threatening me or my family and property. I am a firm believer in the saying that it is better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6. I have absolutely no patience for ANYONE that destroys property or assaults someone unprovoked. To those liberals that are anti-firearm and worry about "old people" owning firearms, I wonder how much you would be worried if someone breaks into your home and rapes or threatens other bodily harm to you and your family. Your "old" neighbor with a gun is sure to be welcome then, huh? There may be instances of accidental firearm discharges in the Villages, but I do not know of any. AND hundreds of Villagers own firearms. Many of them (possibly your neighbors) carry concealed every time they leave the house. Of course, there are many that have never touched a firearm that are armchair experts on the subject and believe that NO ONE should own a gun.
Believe me, if the rioters came to The Villages, they would be turned away immediately. And the pacifists can rest easy, because they won't have to lift a hand. They can sit back and criticize after the fact, like they do on here every day.
GOD bless the Police that serve us. I have known hundreds of law enforcement officers. I have only known a few bad COPs but NO crooked COPs. And GOD bless those retirees that are still willing to take up arms to protect family and neighbors. They are the true patriots in America.

I doubt if the hard up citizens of Minneapolis and other ethnically diverse cities would get on a bus and come down to the Villages to pillage. For one thing, the FBI would be alerted quickly before they got out of the Minnesota state line as they are many good people out there wanting all this shameful mob like behavior to stop. Even if there are some people in America who love pandering to the mob.
