Police casualties from protests

National TV media spends a lot of airtime talking about the BLM movement. They spotlight police brutality and aggressive police behavior.
Below are some facts that received either little or no airtime on national TV. No TV coverage of funerals... no interviews of family members...

A police chief was found fatally shot outside a St. Louis pawn shop that was looted after protests over the death of George Floyd turned violent. The officer was killed when he apparently tried to stop the looting of the shop.

A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer was critically wounded engaging with violent protesters outside the Circus Circus Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Four cops were shot in St. Louis during demonstrations protesting George Floyd's death.

In Cincinnati, a police officer was struck in the helmet by a bullet during a confrontation with protesters.

Just last Saturday, two Tampa police officers, responding to a report of shots fired and possible gunshot victim, were injured Saturday after a crowd of hundreds surrounded the officers in an "ambush." A crowd of hundreds was at the scene when police arrived. As offices searched for a victim, the crowd blocked all four ends of the intersection. They surrounded officers, threw bottles and glass, and jumped on a police vehicle. “When there are that many people out there and clearly no one had been shot. It was just a set up to get the cops there."

So if all the above received "little or no air time" - where did YOU find this information? Cite your sources. Especially if you are quoting someone else, as it seems you are doing in your last paragraph.

Google. (not national TV). That internet thing... I think it's going to catch on...
I know someone posted the Tampa article. Here are a few more (below). I promise all were on the internet. I'm just too tired right now to find all the links.

Let's not forget about all the police casualties from the very bad idea to defund police departments across the nation.

JGVillages 06-25-2020 05:19 AM

Congressional leaders kneeled for Floyd. Have they ever kneeled for our servicemen killed in action or how about the 77 year old retired police captain shot to death in Minneapolis. Sad!!

Bay Kid 06-25-2020 06:33 AM

So sad for our police. BLM is a war against our police, a pure hate group, yet they get all the good press.

Those so called leaders are a disagrace care more for a thug than young people who defend us.

Our press is in a war to change America to something none of us would recognize or want.

Sounds like you forgot about what the protests were all about. Every life is precious. None should be comprised. No country or organization is perfect. As a nation of many, we must strive to respect all.

Of course theres no media coverage. It doesnt fit the agenda. Cops saves lives everyday. Do you see that in the news? NO. Why? Because they cant show cops as the good guys. Yes, theres bad apples in every profession. But to lump all cops into that small minority is disgusting. Notice everytime there is a problem whats the first thing you hear people shouting, Call 911! No, dont call 911. Handle it yourself then since everyone wants to get rid of cops. Try and protect yourself against a huge man high on drugs waving a gun. Let me know how that works out for you

Bay Kid 06-26-2020 06:41 AM

Evidently Blue Lives DON'T Matter anymore. So, so sad. Prayer for them and their families, if this is even allowed anymore.

Walt335 06-26-2020 06:50 AM

It’s been oblivious for quite some time that network media is severely biased and have been purchased. Boycotting is the only answer. I watch BBC America. There’s no Advertising on BBC. It’s supported by taxes only. If all else fails turn off the TV and pick up a newspaper.

Feel like its well past time to show all the sides of these protests. Cops should get their day too.

However, if you were to compare Blacks who have been killed by policemen throughout the US over this last century, I suspect THAT list would be WAAAY longer. Don't you?

I'm afraid the cable channels, like MSNBC/FOX, have to fill in hours and hours of so-called news. And, every next commentator seems to cover some of the same news that other tators have already defined.

I am a middle-of-the-road liberal. And I had to curtail MSNBC viewing to about 2 hours. I watch movies instead.

When burning, looting and killing happen because of a protest, that's when their rights to protest end. They should be in JAIL.

They should be seen on camera makes it easier to identify them so as to whisk them off to jail.

It sure is nice of you to do the work of putting up those links.

Why & When did this turn from a Forum to a Court Of Law? Who has the rightful ability to put you on cross-examination? Why would I as a reader of your beautiful informative post question your sources? The time it takes to ask for proof from a poster could be used by the person asking for the proof to find the answer for themselves. It's just a person flexing their Internet Muscles.

I THINK as I have no PROOF that this is the kind of CULTURE that the BOSSES of TOTV'S is trying to curb.

The most important thing is the content of your post. Important to know and so frigging sad that it doesn't the victims don't get the proper coverage. You are well respect and I take your word for what you post. :icon_wink:

He said "little" or no air time. There was a little air time about each of the instances, but not to the extent of the looting and rioting, and George Floyd. True, George Floyd died, but so did the police officer in St. Louis who was known for working with underprivileged children, unlike Floyd who was a criminal.

Floyd (the criminal) received a better funeral than MLK. I thought a president had died when I was flipping channels and saw Floyd's funeral procession.

Amazing how a thug became a hero by doing absolutely nothing good.

Bernie1 06-26-2020 04:16 PM

BLM is a movement looking to gain power by any means necessary to advance their agenda, their words, we'll burn it down. If you believe they care anything about you or me, my words are lost on someone who has already drank the Kool Aid.

This is 100% about power. Why would they make you get on your knees and apologize for your white privilege, would you do this if face to face with the mob? I think you would. Me, too many of my family and friends gave their lives to protect us and I will not turn my back on them, or YOU. If you are too weak to defend yourself, I will.

Nope.

That's when the criminals doing the "burning/looting/killing"...should be caught and fully prosecuted.

Since when does this country advocate punishing and eliminating our protections under the COTUS for the whole...because of the actions of a few?

That's what Putin does (because of the lack of a Constitution...that protects citizen's rights).

Or did you mean to include that "when crimes are committed with firearms...the right to own guns end?"

Nahhh...I didn't think so. ;)

I agree that criminals who are doing looting/burning/killing should be prosecuted. :)

I've found that people are more receptive to a post that is informative and educational instead of combative. :boxing2:

I'm sure they read the post. I'm just trying to give you some "feedback." I think you would advance your "agenda" and people would be more receptive to your points if you weren't so caustic.

Your comment/observation would carry more weight and have more credibility, if you could point to even a single instance/post where you said the same thing...to those who constantly attack me.

Isn't that the epitome...of fairness?
