Observation on restaurants in Brownwood
Ive noticed that in the beginning if COVID-19 Blue Fin and other “Fred” restaurants were leading in social distancing. Now they appear to be the worse and seem to be the only ones not spacing bar stools apart from each other outside. City fire, World of Beer, Gators Dockside and Riccardis all have social distancing in place. What happened Fred?

If you have issues, DON"T GO THERE.

Contact the county health department
DeSantis came out and said they will be strictly enforcing the social distancing at bars and restaurants. Call the local county health department or the non-emergency sheriff's office number.

Don’t go there?

Not ready for sit down restaurants, continue to be takeout for us

we went to Toojay's last night. everything was spotless & all staff were masked up & gloved. the manager was seating groups very far apart. if anything, the food & service is a LOT better, most likely due to the slow traffic coming in. workers have more stress-free time & it shows; everyone was in a good mood. hubby asked our waitstaff is she minded wearing the mask all day, & her reply was that she was so grateful to be back @ work, the mask was no big deal.

Blue fin in restaurant is still enforcing rules but those outside bars are a waste of time trying to enforce, what I do is I take my mask and put it on if I go into restaurant men’s room . Nobody seems to do this , please do it’s a close space and people from outside of restaurants use them

Went to the Bistro at Grand Oaks, all employees masked, more than required spacing inside......nice meal and ambiance.
|
Went to the bank today.
Several people came in wearing masks. We left as the shooting started. The good thing was, social distancing was observed! |
Last Saturday Eaton’s Beach was packed tighter than a can of sardines.
If you don’t like it don’t go. |

Now, I know it would easier to Google it but where is it! I only ask cause 1 or 2 kind and wonderful people with absolutely nothing to do will tell me just that. So I feel like I helped them out today! |

It doesn't matter if I or anyone else doesn't like it. What matters to me is that someone there is enjoying their right to socialize without the establishment offering some sort of spacing and selfish people not thinking of others. So, one person could pass it on to another person, unmasked, then they go to publix where I buy my groceries. Putting all of us at risk. Yes, you may have a right not to wear a mask but I also have a right to have a safe place to go without having uncaring others nearby. So, it's more of an idea of thinking of others before yourself. A simple concept. |

No issues with the restaurant
Have issues with people not obeying simple directions to avoid spreading a highly contagious disease to others |

I agree. Too Jays is being very cautious. All masked, gloves and spacing.
And my lunch was delicious. |
My wife and I were going to Amerikanos yesterday but the people were jammed together at the outside bar (despite DeSantis' order) so we skipped it and went to World Of Beer. Nicely spaced with masks on all servers.

He has 7 restaurants because he was smart, took a great risk, worked hard and had success. That success provided dozens of jobs, and opportunity for many others working for him. He then risked it all again and grew, creating even more jobs and providing a good time and experience for his customers who must have liked his establishments or there would not be 7 now. This is America, this is why we have been the most successful country in the world. This is capitalism. This is not socialism. You may be jealous of his success (how much is enough) but thank God, most Americans want to see a growing thriving economy that benefits all. I applaud every successful businessman. Keep growing and bringing more opportunity to our country.

I disagree. Blue Fin has continuously followed the guidelines. I was there yesterday and there were no bar stools around the bar. The same with City Fire. Everytime they received guidance from the State, they have followed the guidance. I am so glad that you have time to ride around and bash establishments in our community without knowing all of the facts

Well I totally agree. Sadly caring about "others" does not seem priority these days. If you wear a mask you can go out and be -80 to 90% safe. Without one you are a 100% risk to all, and easily pass on any virus you "may" have.
|
Huh? I read an article that said they were filing bankruptcy... so are they bankrupt or not?

That has been my attitude all along.
We are NEVER going to be able prevent people from getting sick. Yes. Our age group is at risk, however if you are healthy you should be able to fight it odd. I believe , because of past experiences with other disease ,This happening now will Lessen the fall 2nd wave So if you don’t feel safe don’t go. Just stop acting like sheep. |

BF outside bar was packed, no distancing......side by side. :ohdear: Not bashing, sharing observed facts. |
I have issues with the establishments which permit violation of the CDC guidelines. If their employees and patrons all got sick and suffered the terrible consequences, no big deal...except to them. But when they all leave and infect other unsuspecting people, spreading the virus by multiples, their actions become intolerable.
|
In my opinion, dining in a restaurant is a completely unnecessary activity, and one of the most likely places to encounter someone with the virus. So, I have been staying away from restaurants, except for occasional takeout and delivery.

Going to Restaurants
At this point I asked myself how much time and at what point do I decide to live life normally again. 60,000 people a year die of the regular flu each year. Last weekend 104 people were shot and 17 killed in Chicago. My point being you have to weigh quality of life. The fact is 90 percent of people who get Carina Virus have minor symptoms and another 7 percent recover but need medical assistance. 3 percent die from it. Most of them had serious medical issues. For me I elect to go on with life as normal. I’ll take my chances.

One place that hurt TooJays at Brownwood was McAlister's Deli. When times are normal and I'm going to MVP Gym 3 or 4 days a week, I eat at McAlisters about once a week. That place will get packed for lunch, lines out to the door and that's with 3 or 4 cashiers taking orders.

In order to sell food I needed another license. In order to sell beer and wine I needed yet another license. If I were to found into be in violation of the license parameters they had the right to revoke those licences. The answer is that establishments must be responsible to enforce the guidelines. If found in violation of any recommendations, the authorities that issue those licenses have the right to revoke them and the business would be forced to close. Some responsible owners will follow the guidelines others won't. I will only support the ones that adhere to guidelines because at least they're trying to find a way to survive this pandemic, responsibly. I'm not not 21 anymore and don't find a need to be shoulder to shoulder having a drink and socializing with my friends. |
