Gentle readers, (and posters) are you a boy or a girl?

There are a lot of posters here whose name is obviously male or female or who show their avatar picture.

But there are many whose screen name is unclear as to gender and who show their pet on their avatar. After communicating with them for one reason or another, I am surprised to find that they are the opposite sex from what I thought.

Could some of you folks show us your booties? Pink or blue?

Oh...and in case there is some confusion about me. I am a female person.

Taltarzac 08-08-2010 08:36 AM

Just check out who posts a lot on Girl Talk.

The frequent posters on Girl Talk should give you a clue, Graciegirl. Some of the posters probably want some kind of anonymity too.

dfn8tly 08-08-2010 09:12 AM

Gracie, is this a test?

graciegirl 08-08-2010 09:17 AM

No. Not a test. Ooops, never even thought that people wouldn't want to disclose that.

I like both genders. I mean, I know women are a little smarter but hey, men are stronger.

Lou Card 08-08-2010 09:37 AM

I wonder why anyone would not want to share their correct name.

Im Louie Card but go by Lou. Be proud of yourself and remove the mask.

Mine should br obvious.

pooh 08-08-2010 10:59 AM

I don't think revealing gender is much of a problem on this particular board, Gracie, though on other sites, it can be problematic. Some prefer to be anonymous for various reasons. On another board I write on, many wish not to reveal their identity, though by what and how they write, it becomes easy to determine gender. I've been with that group for over 10 years, others longer. Maybe it takes that long to be able to determine from writings... :024:

Pturner 08-08-2010 11:30 AM

I like when someone's gender on this thread sneaks up on me. I'll think she's a he, then she talks about hubby and she turns out to be a he. Or the reverse. He he.

PT, I actually like that also .. it is fun to guess! And then to be surprised.

But ... didn't we used to have little blue and pink ribbons to denote gender. Tony ????????

Pats2010 08-08-2010 11:53 AM

Reminds me of the Saturday Night Live skit where they had "Pat" Nobody knew if Pat was a "he" or a "she"

graciegirl 08-08-2010 11:53 AM

K9-Lovers is both! There is a Mr. K9 and a Mrs. Often, we both sit together and read the news and comments on TOTV. Sometimes, we even compose and answer together -- two heads are better than one -- so "they" say!

Funny, I never noticed the "s" at the end of your name....always thought it was K9-Lover.....I'll have to pay more attention!

tony 08-08-2010 01:00 PM

I don't remember anything like that.

Jan?

villages07 08-08-2010 03:22 PM

pink and blue used to show up in the chat room listing of who was online (only if the person had identified their gender in their profile).

Not sure I ever recall gender showing up in main forum.

:o

ps.... hmmm, just went and checked out my profile info; don't see any place to ID gender there. I swear it used to be there...maybe that changed when the forum switched to this latest version of software.

beartrack 08-08-2010 03:28 PM

Sorry Gracie but, my better half says that you may not see my bootie.

Taltarzac 08-08-2010 03:38 PM

I have been wrong with what gender some of the posters are.

I have sometimes tried to guess what sex the poster was and have often also been wrong. That goes for many of the other boards I have been on too. Of course, on some boards, they could be lying about a lot of facts about themselves.

mulligan 08-08-2010 05:21 PM

swrinfla 08-10-2010 04:24 PM

I was away for a week, came home to find my 'puter "dead."

Finally got all repaired, but, sometimes, I wonder where I am?

Most often, I wonder what my late wife (gone ten years and more, now) would have thought about all this on-line chat and stuff!?!? My most recent conclusion is that she'd have thought I'd lost my mind!

And, maybe I have! :-) :-) :-) :pepper2:

My gender is neutral. My wife and I both post on this account and the name is our initials. Ila and Wallace King.

My C stands for Cindi

raynan 08-10-2010 07:23 PM

raynan is for ray, who usually just reads the postings and nancy, who usually writes the postings. Counting the days....now less than a month before we're villagers.

redwitch 08-10-2010 08:32 PM

Anatomically, I'm female. Mentally, I'm a bit confused. Regardless, I've been told I think more like a male than a female and most of my dearest friends throughout my life have been male. I always thought I should have been born about 15 years earlier -- I would have made the perfect '50s maile (earn the living; come home from work, grab the paper and a beverage and relax until dinner is ready; eat; talk to the kids; watch TV .....). Even so, I LOVE being a girl!

Boomer 08-12-2010 03:06 PM

I am a girl. I have been around here for a really long time. If anybody reads stuff I write, by now they know I am a girl. But when I first started, I know there were those who thought I was a boy. In fact, one time some guy agreed a whole lot with something I said and he wrote, "Hey Buddy, I am gonna buy you a beer when you get here."

Even though I have been around here forever, there is not a whole lot that anybody reading really knows about me. I maintain a relatively low profile. (Reasons. None of them exciting.) But you sure do know an awful lot about Boomer. Geez.

(I wonder if there is a way that I can still get that beer.)

mak44070 08-12-2010 04:14 PM

Hey Ms. Boomer,
If that guy doesn't come thru, I'll buy you a beer!
Hmmm.....we'd better include GracieGirl and Pooh and Pturner and.......:a040:
