Looking to either buy crab cakes at Fresh Market or Publix, or orderng from a restaurant. Recommendations for where to get the best crab cakes, TYIA...:icon_wink:

Blue Fin restaurant did a good job last time I ordered crab cakes there. However, if you're looking for Maryland-style crab cakes, I've never found them around here. A restaurant in Lake Eustis advertises Maryland-style crab cakes. Close but no gold medal. Old Bay and lump, back fin crab meat are the essentials typically missing in crab cakes made locally.

Wolfgang Puck has a lump crab meat appetizer that is excellent. Zero filler. The premium crab cakes at Fresh Market are very good.

If you're looking for Maryland crab cakes there are a couple places that ship overnight. Same with Lobster from Maine. But that's probably another discussion

None here for sure. I just buy the crab meat and make my own.

Bone Fish

On a few occasions I have bought three crabcakes at Publix, and then bought an 8 ounce container of crab meat to add to them. I mix them all together and add a little bit of crabcake seasoning mix and maybe some scallions and a little mayo if needed and it makes four really nice size crabcakes.

Surprisingly enough, Sams Club has delicious frozen crab cakes....lots of crab and yummy.

The Rose Plantation has the Best. Hardly any filler.

I've made my own so many times. With canned or fresh lump crab meat; in Oregon, I used Dungeness crab meat in season.

I just catch my own Chesapeake blue crabs, steam them and make my own crab cakes. Doesn't get any better.

Dont buy the so called "Maryland crab cakes" from Fresh Market. They taste NOTHING like the Maryland crab cakes I ate while living there.

Oyster Troff in Eustis. I'd go there if I wanted crab cakes. No or very little filler.

Best way to get awesome maryland crab cakes is ordering online from crabcakecentral.com. They come from an Annapolis delly and are shipped ready to cook.. Includes instructions.

I have not had a decent crab cake since I last Annapolis, MD 10 years ago. Good luck. Let us all know if you find one.

I always get crab cakes at the light house in Lsl. They are delish and it's a meal for 2 days for me at least.

I agree Sams club frozen crab cakes are excellent.

Try the lady with the boat trailer at the Brownwood farmers market every Saturday. She also has very nice fillets of Triggerfish.

Fresh Market lump crab cakes all crab with very little binder. Mmm mmmm good 😬

The Lump Crab Cakes from Fresh Market are delicious. Be sure to BAKE not pan fry. Often they go on sale for 2/$12. Fresh Market has their own brand of seafood sauce that is very good, also. I don't care for the Maryland Style.

We also do not have access to New Orleans, Charleston, Gulf Coast style. "Mild, sweet" Lump crab, butter, seasoning. Delicate. Delicious!!!

Best Maryland crab cakes at the whale tail in Mount Dora. They know what Old Bay is for starters. Closest thing to Maryland crab cakes I have found. That is spelled tale tale whale tale.

Fresh Market has the premium crab cakes on sale 2 for $10 now and then. I stock up then. Are ok. Don’t bother with the cheaper “Maryland “ ones. Some new places listed here. Will try!!! We so miss our steamed crabs and decent crab cakes, crab soup, etc! The restaurants here don’t know how to prepare a crab cake.
