Living Trust Recommendation
 

Need to set up a living trust and will.
Would appreciate any recommendations and if possible include cost

A few years ago, Amy Pittman prepared a will for me for $300. At the time, she offered to prepare a package including a will, medical directive (living will), and power of attorney documents for $600. I'm not sure what you mean by a living trust, but if you want a revocable trust for all or your assets, I think the cost would depend on how complicated you want to get, and it could get very expensive.

There are many elder lawyers here with good reputations. I would call several and ask for a ballpark fee. They’ll ask a few questions as everyone’s situation is different. I’ve been to seminars by Mary Trotter and Kathryn Linn. Both seemed knowledgeable and honest. You should have no trouble finding a competent attorney at a reasonable fee. Good luck.

Couple of big difference when you are pricing a Trust......is the law office funding the trust for you or do you have too
How long do you have to make changes before they charge
A trusted funded with all the bells and whistles should cost between $800-$1000

Mary Trotter has an excellent reputation and we found her and her staff to be professional and very helpful as well as staff being quite knowledgeable.

If your Living (Revocable) Trust is prepared correctly, you do not need a will. Make sure that you do not place any items that have a beneficiary - such as life insurance policies, annuities, etc. in the trust. They pass tax-free to the beneficiary. Putting them in the trust will make them taxable.

I got 5 documents from 3 years ago at $450. Free consult, speedy service and I've networked several people to them. I think now it's $500.

Jennifer set up our Living Trust and Will, and she was great to work with.

We just had a revocable trust prepared Along with all the other documents needed like a living will, Power of Attorney, etc. last week with Katheryn Lynn. She was wonderful! She explained everything, and based on our needs, it cost about $1300. That included a very organized notebook with sections separated by tabs as well as a thumb drive with all the information on it as well. I highly recommend her services. She is on Wedgewood lane near the Circle K gas station.
