What's your favorite meal...

If you had no dietary restrictions and everything was available on the menu...what would you order?

retiredguy123 08-29-2020 01:40 PM

A dozen jumbo steamed blue crabs and a few draft beers.

Not available in The Villages.

nice...I could deal with that...albeit I might go for a pitcher of draft beer

Stu from NYC 08-29-2020 04:14 PM

Veal parm but a close second would be a good pizza
Thinking about it a bit would add a good crunchy fried chicken

Tommyc6 08-29-2020 04:28 PM

Linguica on Portuguese roll with peppers and onions.

Number 10 GI 08-29-2020 05:17 PM

My wife's Jaeger Schnitzel and pommes frites . Her Jaeger sauce is a meal all by it's self.

Best Jaeger Schnitzel I ever had was the bahnhof bar in Freidberg, West Germany. I am willing to take home some of your wife's leftovers- but doubt you would let left-overs of that meal happen.

Kenswing 08-29-2020 05:43 PM

A slow smoked brisket with smoked mac & cheese and corn on the cob. Strawberry shortcake for dessert :icon_hungry:

JimJohnson 08-30-2020 03:02 AM

Fried chicken.

queasy27 08-30-2020 04:56 AM

Now you've all gone and made me hungry!

I don't know how affected this is by nostalgia, but my late mother's spaghetti and her Thanksgiving dinners were legendary, especially the cornbread and sausage stuffing. She made the Italian sausage herself. I'd happily eat either of those for my last meal.

My favorite thing I cook from scratch is corned beef hash, nice and crispy.

Westie Man 08-30-2020 05:13 AM

Caesar Salad, French Onion soup, Veal Picatta with Asparagus Vinegarette and Polenata and Black Forest Cake

Travelingal702 08-30-2020 05:34 AM

All you can eat Snow Crab Legs......with a nice white wine.

wamley 08-30-2020 05:56 AM

Grilled American cheese sandwich with lots of crispy bacon on rye bread with seeds cooked in a large amount of butter until the bread is a crispy dark brown bordering on burnt.

Where to get around here? Except for my making it....We do like the chicken at McCall's in Spanish Springs.

La lamy 08-30-2020 06:28 AM

T-Bone steak, garlic mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, green beans with lot of butter and salt. The best merlot they have. But I'm not paying right?!

Veiragirl 08-30-2020 06:57 AM

I think you can buy blue crabs at the seafood market in Leesburg.

Best fried chicken in Florida is at McCalls Tavern at Spanish Springs!!!

jacivell 08-30-2020 07:36 AM

A ‘real’ Philadelphia cheesesteak! 👍

ithos 08-30-2020 07:36 AM

As someone who is almost exclusively plant based, the biggest temptation I have when I shop is a Supreme Pizza with extra cheese. I am only 155 lbs but have no problem wolfing down a large pizza all by myself.

I am not alone.

"The University of Michigan study, published in the US National Library of Medicine, examined which foods caused people to display addictive tendencies. Using a sample of 504 students, the study found that pizza came out on top (perhaps unsurprisingly)."

And the reason is According to the study, "the highly processed foods loaded with sugars and fats can cause changes in the dopamine system – involved in reward and pleasure – akin to drug abuse."

Usually I am able to resist by remembering how unpleasant the "comedown" is and the plaque that gets dumped into my arteries.

Dana1963 08-30-2020 07:59 AM

Chitown 08-30-2020 08:07 AM

1. Double bacon cheese burger with a mound of onion rings, ranch dressing for dipping. 2. Deep dish pizza w/ sausage pepperoni, green peppers, couple of beers.

tedquick 08-30-2020 08:09 AM

That's a tough one: it's a toss up between a bacon cheeseburger and eggs, bacon, hash browns & toast.

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 08-30-2020 08:14 AM

Depends on what day it is.

Waltdisney4life 08-30-2020 08:21 AM

Pizza!

RonGee 08-30-2020 08:21 AM

A real 2lbs New England lobster.

Stu from NYC 08-30-2020 08:38 AM

Can I get mine with a pecan pie

BlackhawksFan 08-30-2020 09:02 AM

Prime rib, medium rare, loaded mashed potatoes, garden salad with ranch dressing, some nice warm dinner rolls and a few beers.

Then I'd top it off with a hot fudge sundae, no nuts, with whipped cream and chocolate chip ice cream.

RedChariot 08-30-2020 09:16 AM

Fried seafood combo platter with a fried lobster tail and a big ol' bowl of baked macaroni and cheese. Dessert would be a fresh strawberry whipped cream layer cake. All from a bygone time at special haunts in NJ.

Is ravioli and lasagna two different dishes?
