Best place to buy washer and dryer appliances near TV
If you needed to buy a new washer and dryer where would you recommend? We are looking for someplace that has a good selection but most importantly will service what they sell and not give me a lot of runaround if something goes wrong. Lowest price is not as important to me, hassle free support and service are. Thanks in advance.

I would go to Best Buy, Lowe’s, or Home Depot.

First and foremost you need to find what’s in stock. The supply chain is still not fully functional. We waited for 7 weeks for a refrigerator to be in stock. At HD, and Lowe’s nothing available and no date for stock. Best Buy was the only place that had a selection in stock, and different price range, for washer and dryer. This all in the last 2 weeks.
If you can wait for a specific model, then I would. And unless in stock and delivery immediately don’t buy until availability. At HD and Lowe’s the fridge we wanted is still not in stock after 10 weeks. |
There's a Sear's Appliance store in Summerfield, FL on 441/27 in the same strip mall that Little Joey's and Francesco's is in
We've always had great luck with Kenmore Elite....Sears now sells a wide range of brands The big brick and mortar Sear's stores may be going away, but their service division isn't |
Another place to look is "Appliance Direct" in Fruitland Park. Same day delivery if you see a set you want.

Lowes or Best Buy. Home Depot would be a distant third. Appliance Direct would be an option, but only if you need to save money.

We bought ours at Lowes, was delivered promptly, did my research and got a good discount as a veteran.

I've had luck with Home Depot and just helped a neighbor complete a purchase of a low-end Whirlpool Stove at Lowes. There is no comparison in my opinion. Home Depot screwed up big time on their order for me but made it right quickly and owned their mistake. I value that. They also made a financial gesture that was more than I ever expected to make up for their fault.
On the other hand, the purchase of a simple stove from the Lowes on 441 reminded me of a Three Stooges skit Combined with a little bit of I Love Lucy. It was run lie and deny for all involved in their screw up. I must say the store manager did pull all the worlds together and came thru and made a stressful situation better. I bought an inexpensive Sharp 55 inch TV from Best Buy and wouldn't give them one penny of my money. It pooped out during the 14 day Love it or Return it period. I don't like the way they do business. I was uncomfortable during the return process. My goal was to give a local business my money instead of Amazon. The item I want is cheaper at Best Buy but I'm going to go with Home Depot after I give Appliance Direct a chance tomorrow. We'll see. A TOTV'S poster New Englander may have saved me by reminding me about that store. Thank's! I really get a kick outta the commercial that guy makes. Let's see if he can back up his words with a great deal. I hope he can get out of the washing machine. :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: |
Getting delivery of a new LG washer and dryer set tomorrow. Costco saved me $500 ($250) less than sale price at HD. Free delivery installation and hardware to connect. The Manufacturer will service the items not the store.

We used MVB Appliance in Leesburg. Great reviews and we had a very good experience

Sears appliance store
We bought from Sears appliance store in Summerfield. The salesman was knowledgeable and they had inventory in stock with quick delivery.

First thing to do is check Consumer Reports for ratings. They will tell you which has the best records and has the most features and has the best price. If you are military or a Veteran, go to Lowes as you will get a military discount.

Best Place to buy appliances

Appliances
I found a little know appliance store online. abt.com. The sell appliances, computers and other electrical trinkets, we all use. I'm told their online services are excellent. I'd liken abt to a smaller Best Buy but with better prices, especially with computers. Much of what they sell ships free.

I have been in the appliance business for almost 40 years. I am new to the area so I can’t help with the who - yet, but just wanted to correct a few errors listed in previous comments. Sears company owned stores (owned by K-Mart) will indeed soon be a thing of the past. The smaller Sears direct stores are independently owned and operated under a franchise agreement that allows them to use the name, gives them access to certain hard and soft lines ie. Kenmore and Craftsmen and allowed them to operate their own service departments if they wanted. The large Sears anchor stores do not own the service department anymore. That division was sold off to an outside company who is allowed to use the name but is not anyway affiliated with Sears.
As far as a comment about mfrg’s providing service they don’t. At best they will form an alliance with local independent servicers to handle issues like the Samsung washer’s “blowing up” recall and at worst assist in trying to find a servicer but if they can’t they will refer you back to who sold it to you and generally you are at their mercy. As far as front side service ie. Delivery and set-up, unless you are willing to Pick - up, unbox, prep, move into your home, install gas or electric, level and test your appliances - find some who can and backs it up. The HD, Lowe’s and Best Buy’s almost assuredly hire 3rd party companies to do this for them ( they do where I am currently working ). So if something goes wrong who do you contact / blame? Figure that out ahead of time because it does happen. And lastly regarding prices, it pains me say it as I truly believe an independent owner is always the best choice, it does not seem like that is a big thing in Central Florida. So if everything is equal price should be important. I would pay to have professional delivery, professional service, someone who assists with issues, but if none of that is available why spend more? I would be more than happy to assist with any other appliance questions for those who want and need it. 14 years as manager of independent appliance store chain 24 years as regional manager for worlds #1 and #3 brands |
Costco Products great but Florida deliveryMen crummy

If you like Best Buy, it is good to know that they will match the price of any local store and many of online retailers. I have often bought products at Best Buy for the Amazon price when it is lower. Best Buy will match it as long as it is sold directly by Amazon, not a third party.

I sold appliances at Home Depot. Always price checked Lowe’s, Best Buy, HHGreg and Sears in front of customers to guarantee they got the best price.

I'll say Amen to this. We replaced all the new appliances that were in our TV house when we bought it 3+ years ago....and had Kenmore Elite models put in. We bought them at the Sears store in Ocala. We also purchased the service agreements and have each appliance thoroughly checked out annually. The service folks are top notch, not like the poorly trained fellows that tried to straighten out the issues we had with the original Whirlpool appliances that were put in....they really didn't have a clue on what was going on with those low end models |

In February, we read the Consumer Digest report on washers and dryers. Had trouble finding what we wanted at HD, Lowes and Best Buy, although we did find deals. We ended up at Appliance Direct and found what we wanted at the best price and next day delivery. We were also happy with warranty.

Fergusons in Ocala if you want higher end appliances. 844 872 3857

Prices the same as the big box stores. Deliver on time without waiting all day. Also, have a store in Ocala. |
speed queen gets high marks. suggest NOT buying a front loading washer. as far as reputable dealer, that's a crap shoot
|
Best Buy subcontracts service out. that is a crap shoot.
|
again, subbed out service. still a crap shoot.
|
see if there is a jessup's store in the area. they are competitive and have their own employees doing the service
|
Either Home Depot or Lowes on Black Friday, or sometimes a few days before or after. Cheapest prices of the year. Either will service what they sell.
|
In the last few years we've replaced our w/d and now range through Lowe's

We had a very good experience with MVP appliance in Leesburg.

We buy from Lowe’s or HD because of prompt, free delivery and haul away. The point of availability is well made. Shipments are not fast anymore. I saw a great deal on an LD set for my daughter at Best Buy yesterday. If their total cost is comparable, they are good to work with too.

Buying
We talked to a repair guy to see what he recommended and he said Maytag so we got ours at Home Depot
|
Two of my children moved here since the pandemic began. Both have had horrible experiences and delays with both online and local dealers. I guess the pandemic shut down many supply chains and they MIGHT be reopening now. My daughter waited over 3 months for her living room sofa to be delivered.
My son had his TV delivered and installed within 10 days of ordering from Best Buy. He waited more than 6 weeks for his living room sofa & entertainment center (from Kane's in Ocala) - and even then it was delivered piecemeal. He still does not have his bedroom set - except for the mattress & pillows. The furniture part is scheduled to come in mid-OCT. His dryer was delivered (Lowe's) about 4 weeks after being ordered and the washer kept being pushed off every few days and finally was to be delivered OCT 14. He just had to cancel and he reordered from Home Depot - who is delivering it next week. I only wish that all of the stores had mentioned the problems that they were having with deliveries so that they wouldn't have been so particular about what they wanted. I'm sure that they could have chosen other stuff (and been able to sit in their living rooms, sleep on their beds and washed their own clothes sooner - if they had been so advised. |
