New Restricted Income Apts on 466
Just outside The Villages is a new apartment complex being built. It is about one mile east of Morse Blvd on 466. What are your thoughts on this?

A builder bought the property and decided what he wanted to build. Apartments are needed in the are for many of the workers in The Villages.

Low income does not equate to criminal or trash. Rotten low-life people are criminals and trash. |

As long as they are primarily law abiding citizens all is good

Apartments and condos are being built all around TV as well as more RV parks, not everyone can afford to buy a home and there is a demand for apartment living due to all of the construction nearby and more commercial development.

A nice place for the people who do all the jobs here that we take for granted , for senior citizens and the disabled , for vets and single mothers with children who are working in fast food places, a decent clean safe place to live , what could be wrong with that ??!

The Courtyard Villas on CR466 I suspect will take a $$$ on the minus side. Lady Lake politicians clearly are clueless, I can only imagine what the backups will be like especially westbound at the traffic light making a left turn onto Morse Blvd going to Sumter Landing. Likewise Eastbound @the traffic light going left onto Rolling Acres Road getting to CR441/27. Good Luck. |

Welcome to Florida. So far, The Villages has been very lucky. |

A lot of us I am sure started as low income, or even at some points, no income, at the early stages of our lives.
The majority never ended up as criminals, or leaches on society. |

In our village in UK, we had another car come through the other day
That's two this week. Traffic is becoming a nightmare!:icon_wink: |

OK. Now will you give us your thoughts? |
We live north of 466 off Chula Vista. I was shocked when I saw how many huge apt buildings are going up there. People are talking about trying to shut down the La Zamora gate for fear all those people will use the red button to cut through TV on Chula Vista (which they probably will). If that gate is closed we would have to go miles out of our way to get to shopping/restaurants on 466 between Buena Vista and 301 so I am not a happy camper. I get that the land owner can do whatever he wants (assuming he can get zoning approval) but it will definitely change things around here and NOT for the better for those of us who live here.

Or a rotary but those two cars might keep hitting each other:bigbow: |
Haven’t they already started building? Debating over land that is sold, and structures are in progress seems pointless. Plus our roads are public, one can’t stop cars from using them.

I think the county government needs to create a "dead zone" for 1,000 meter around The Villages. Raze the current dwellings and businesses and plant grass. Like a DMZ, nobody allowed to enter or live there so the sensibilities of the entitled elite living in the TV bubble aren't offended. Can't have "undesirables" living too close to our sanctuary. It's OK that they cut our grass, clean our homes, serve our food at the restaurants and haul our garbage, just don't live too close to us.

I believe you have a Lady Lake Commissioner living among you in the Village of LaReynalda - Ruth Kussard. Am sure she can answer any concerns you have,

These two individual you cited, what are their qualifications to comment on the situation? Just because they are residents means nothing. |

Will someone please come up with a virus cure so that minds are occupied, and therefore people have no need to look for something to get excited about.

Two things. If there is open land near a popular place (such as the Villages), you have to expect that it is going to be developed. Such was the case here. The developers of this land laid out a well designed series of buildings that complement the site and the need well. They leaped through all the regulatory hoops (without any assistance from the Morse family who were averse to this development (as noted in the fact that the Morse family would not allow the developers of this little parcel to tap into the water supply).
This will be a good addition to our developing area. By the way, if people wanted the land to remain undeveloped, they could have just bought it themselves! |

When 466 becomes an exit for I75 traffic will become a nightmare. Saw that happen in Port St. Lucie when it connected to I95. Another ding on quality of life
in The Villages. Income limited housing is needed but traffic studies should be the governing factor. |
