Entertainment Spanish Springs

Will the entertainment resume now that the Governor has lifted all restrictions. We are new to the villages and we went to the Spanish Springs square on Friday to enjoy some live music but there wasn't any.

Your chance to try to become a Covid victim will happen on Oct 6th. Good Luck.

There are always 10% of the people that aren’t informed. Entertainment starts Oct 5.

Here we go again! Will we go a day without all the Covid talk? By now nobody is suddenly going to change their mind. Seriously, when flu season n colds are evident, what are people going to do? If we were to sneeze in public, people around would think COVID! People must work, eat, live. Let’s be sensible

Sorry for the nastiness of others

If you scroll down the page or perhaps go to page 2 you will find a long thread discussing the reopening.

I found it helpful reading the local paper to learn more of what goes on around here.

I heard there was some process where you had to go get tickets or something? Presumably so they could limit the number of people there? A couple of days ago I drove to Spanish Springs in my golf cart, parked near the fountain, and listened to the music from Amerikanos. Weather was wonderful, music was good, and I was apart from the crowd at Amerikanos. There were a few others with a similar idea—either sitting in their carts or On the benches. It was nice.

pcacace 09-29-2020 05:58 AM

If you are concerned about the virus, then don’t go.

Bass56 09-29-2020 06:14 AM

Just wear a mask and enjoy the music. Bring some hand sanitizer to make it even more safer. Whether you use precautions or not, just enjoy yourself. We all deserve it.

LucyP 09-29-2020 06:14 AM

Starts Oct 5th. At box ticket office or online you reserve a ticket to enter square area where entertainment. Tickets will be available starting Oct 2nd.No cost. They are limiting how many in close area of the band or DJ.

MarcStephen 09-29-2020 06:17 AM

It will be interesting how the ticketing works out! I suggest to go to the various restaurants ( reservations ahead of time ) and enjoy an outdoor evening of good eats and good music! Seems a lot easier than the ticketing deal!

HeleneGB 09-29-2020 06:18 AM

October 5, but must get ticket in advance. Read the Daily Sun.

Gmaf6 09-29-2020 06:19 AM

The Squares open on Oct. 5th. You must bring your own chair and get tickets to enter as there will be limited seating. It’s my understanding that there will be one entry and one exit area.

banjobob 09-29-2020 07:29 AM

The Covid issue is serious only to those that have other health issues , the media continues to peddle the fear factor. If you are vulnerable take precautions or stay home that simple .

October 5th. But you need a ticket from the box office. I assume still free. A
So bring your own chair to sit.

ts12755 09-29-2020 10:06 AM

Starts Oct 5th... need ticket to enter. And don't worry about covid unless you are sick or fat. 100's of healthy folk in the villages made it thru Covid including myself with no problem.

I’ve been here 20 years in 5 different houses and find the older people get to here the grumpier they get , they seem to hate change , hate the family , dislike anyone who disagrees with there politics and the good old days were when everyone new there place . I’m 81 still mixing with younger people , still going out to eat most nights, still shopping for new clothes and still loving the villages and all the changes now and in the future and the great choices we will have because of the Morse family vision

? A "victim" ??? I am no expert but I would think for those who are really fearful, just getting your groceries at Publix would be much more "risky" than sitting outside listening to some music ? But, maybe I am not thinking clearly, not arguing or getting nasty, just seems that things like listening to music and playing golf are the LEAST risky things to do.

Chi-Town 09-29-2020 01:35 PM

Looking forward to the person who posts the monthly entertainment at the squares.

collector0915 09-29-2020 02:55 PM

Don't forget that you will need to get advance tickets for entertainment at the squares until further notice. As I understand
it, tickets are free and available at Villages ticket offices.

DonnaNi4os 09-30-2020 09:31 AM

From what I understand you will need a ticket to enter the square available at I’m not sure where. There will be an enclosure with only one way in and one way out. The drink huts will have plexiglass to offer some protection. Masks must be worn. It’s a hard pass for me right now but welcome to TV!

Marshaw 09-30-2020 06:15 PM

Since they can't keep the aisles cleared this is going to be fun.

Pettys1 10-01-2020 12:28 PM

I agree... If they just counted Covid an not other causes like... Pneumonia, Flu, COPD, Heart Attack, Cancer,etc.. Then you'll notice the numbers aren't that high... I know first hand that causes of death are always Covid related.... When in fact it was from something else

Chi-Town 10-01-2020 12:45 PM

Check today's Daily Sun for the October entertainment schedule for the Squares. Seems like old times.
