We're one step closer to TV
 

Yesterday we put a deposit on a lot in the new Village of Tamarind Grove. We won't begin building our Sun Kissed until Aug. 2011, but to say we are excited is an understatement. If our plans play out, we will become frogs in April of 2012.

Way to go! By the time your home is built, you'll have several neighbors already settled in, so you won't even feel alone. Isn't it wonderful when your dreams start taking place?

We bought a lot a couple weeks ago At Tamarind Grove. We also plan to be there sometime late next year. Our lot backs up to to the mail box area. Where is yours?

Our lot (#37) is east of the postal station at the end of Ansley Path. It is on the south side at the start of the circle of the cul-de-sac. It backs up the four-board fence and has an oak tree at the southwest corner of the lot. The privacy of the pasture behind the fence and the shade of the oak tree really sold it for us.

My wife is sooo excited to have the neighborhood pool so close because she will be able to easily walk to it.

Yea those trees are nice, very peaceful looking. Where are you guys from. We are from buffalo NY

Always good to have another Illinoisan moving down! We're from suburban Chicago and live in the Village of Amelia....been here 2 1/2 years.

I can't believe that TV has opened up yet another new village already. Wow.

Your lot looks great. Between the cows in the pasture and the big tree it looks really peaceful.

We took another step closer to TV yesterday when we put our house on the market. We have spent months prepping it and now the gut wrenching part begins. All we can do is hope for it the best.

I'm still shooting to retire in April 2012. We will rent after we sell and before we move down.

Like the saying goes, "It only takes one." That "one" lives near us and drove by our house the day after the For Sale By Owner sign went up. Fast forward to today... all the paperwork has been signed and we are planning to close April 4!

Good Lord, our heads are spinning and we can barely believe it. We are soooo thrilled and THANKFUL.

Mine is sold. closing Feb. 28th Villages July 2011

We closed yesterday! It's a done deal on the sale of our house.

We moved into a rental until I retire which hopefully will be in October. We're calling this a "layover" on our journey to TV.

Next stop: Ansley Path in Tamarind Grove!!!! :MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:

When you've got the check in hand, you know it's a done deal........and you're done! :) Congrats!!

Tamarind Grove is a great spot in TV. The lovely Diane and I spent quite a bit of time cruising around there in a golf cart over the winter checking out the Cottage models and the neighborhood.

The view from in back of mail center looking across the field trowards 466A is beautiful. Unfortunately, there is a sign on 466A directly across from Tamarind Grove announcing that a large office building will be built in that field. Lets just hope they limit the building to the road frontage and that the field doesn't fill up with office buildings over the next several years.

Di and I would like a home in TG ourselves. To that end, while I am back to work full time, the recently retired Diane has already started painting the interior of our home in preparation to place it on the market later this spring.

OMG, you have just scared the ..... out of us! We will check into this and see what we can learn.

Oh dear, sometimes I think I'm losing it. Other times, I'm sure of it. :22yikes:

But if I know Champ6, he is listening to some Zeppelin, enjoying the memories and won't even notice....

Seeing all the posts of good wishes and happiness simply reinforces our decision to join the wonderful residents in TV. Where else can you make friends before meeting them in person except at TOTV. We are just beginning our "get this house ready to put on the market" and have lots to do.

Our plans are to have our home here on the market this time next year and be at TV by July 2012. It is absolutely thrilling to share the happiness and excitement of fellow "gonnabees". We add our excitement for you Champion6. We hope to be three months behind you becoming frogs!!!:clap2::clap2::MOJE_whot:

What I was trying to say is: Thanks to this forum, the kindness of so many great people sharing their journey. This forum has given the husband and I a great deal of hope for our future in The Villages.

You folks are a positive bunch of frogs, you make Californians appear frigid. Please know I truly appreciate all of your posts.

I started this thread in August 2010 when we reserved a lot in Tamarind Grove. Since then, we prepped our house, put it on the market and sold it. We moved to a rental until I retire on October 14.

Well, today we signed the papers to begin building our Sun Kissed on Ansley Path. We will close on August 8 (yes, only 54 days!). I love it when a plan comes together. I especially love it when the plan includes moving to TV!

And yes... the best is yet to come!!!
