Recently Installed Plantation Shutters?

Have any of you recently had plantation shutters installed? Looking at other threads on this topic it looks like the companies that people have used in the past may or may not still be credible or even in business.

Who did you use recently? Have any of you had the developer install plantation shutters during your build?

Thanks.

Were you happy with them?

We used the same, Blind Plus Shutters, and they look great. We had the living room, dining room and master bedroom done and they fit perfect. I'd certainly use them again.

Yes. We had the whole house done including the sliding glass doors. Took about 8 weeks for delivery but they were installed in a couple of hours.

We used Just Shutters Call Steve Rydell @352-391-8101. Good product (Norman shutters), great price and great installation. We researched about 5 companies, settled on Steve because of the first and second reasons and found we were thrilled with the 3rd.

bowlingal 10-22-2020 05:09 AM

I had them done about 5 years ago. Whomever you use, make sure you can tilt your windows in to clean. I had them cut a notch down the sash so I can clean them

48 Hour Blinds - had them installed prior to moving in. They were able to measure during the build. No complaints.

We bought some of our plantation shutters through Home Depot. They provided a sub-contractor to install them. We bought other plantation shutters from a company advertising in the newspaper. The Home Depot shutters are a far superior product.

Shutter Professionals. No complaints.

We are using 48 Hr Blinds. Two reasons: Cost was lower, and good quality. Two issues: When they installed the blinds, the sheetrock on the inside sills cracked. That may be more of an issue of construction. The time it took to get the blinds from the factory. Still waiting on the shutters for our arched window (since August). Regardless, we would use them again.

Had them 2 weeks ago in our CYV on all windows (not the sliders). Went through Home Depot who use Rockwood Shutters. The rep arrived with her mobile showroom, very knowledgeable & did first measure & price quote there & then. No pressurised sale either. Then installer came following week for final exact measurements & 4 weeks later we had the installation which took 3 hours. Very pleased & would highly recommend. I made initial free appointment via Home Depot website.

We got ours 7 years ago and have been very pleased with them. Since we’ve not had to deal with the contractor since install I couldn’t tell you the actual name of the vendor but they are known as “the pink house”. I see the van around occasionally so I know they’re still doing business. Took a few weeks after measurements for installation to be scheduled. Installed whole house (designer series) in about 90 minutes.

I’m not sure what your talking about there are 2 half’s to each window they pull away from
The windows and close seamlessly, the homes here were with. Villages blinds and shutters

I used Window Reflections in Wildwood. Very reliable, always on time, and the installer was terrific. I highly recommend them.

We used 48HR Blinds in Leesburg. Right next door to the bowling alley. Couldn't be happier.

Had Blinds Plus Shutters 3/14/2014;best quality of any company, well built, never had a problem, we love them. They are still installing. We had 2 or 3 companies show us Shutters and these were by far the best. Good luck.

jammendolia 10-22-2020 08:58 AM

I used 48 hour blinds through my whole house. They are vinyl over aluminum and I love them. You’re welcome to come by and see them

We used Lowe’s and we were very pleased with their work. The guy that did the measurements was the same guy who installed them. He did an excellent job. We would definitely use them again.

Villages Kahuna 10-22-2020 10:08 AM

We had several windows done by Village Blind & Shutter (352) 330-4000 in Oxford. They’re located just east of 301 on the first, short street south of 466, (4127 CR 106, Oxford).

We purposely ordered their plantation shutters made from high-grade plastic to avoid any chance of warpage, discolored or peeling paint, etc. They’re cheaper as well.

But these days, who knows which businesses have survived? All you can do is give them a call.

jgrusmark 10-22-2020 11:28 AM

I used Blinds Plus

pmken2 10-22-2020 11:59 AM

We used Blinds 4 Less on two different houses and love them. They are in Lady Lake behind Mom and Dads restaurant.

352-753-5003. They will bring samples to your house.
