Where to purchase Duck

I like to make Duck Breast occasionally but have not found a source in the Villages. Has anyone seen them for sale around here?

sswitenki 11-09-2020 01:51 PM

Oh I do take that back. I found in Publix for $10 a breast which I think is a bit extreme. I am looking for reasonable price duck

You can order 32 frozen duck breasts on Amazon for $187 with free shipping. They also sell whole ducks and duct tape.

Hmm can sell them to Publix for $ 4 each and make it up in volume:a040:

$10.00 seems to be the average price per pound for duck breast.

sswitenki 11-09-2020 06:48 PM

Publix duck breasts are 7.5 oz for $10! Very pricy. Over $20 per lb

sswitenki 11-09-2020 06:51 PM

I don’t want to fill my freezer with 32 duck breasts. Has anyone seen them sold anywhere besides Publix?

Pinball wizard 11-09-2020 09:24 PM

Try calling Best Meats on 301, wildwood.

GOLFER54 11-10-2020 05:49 AM

Call Daffy,I’m sure he has connections.

HeleneGB 11-10-2020 06:00 AM

We buy ours online BEMKA.

pjwenz 11-10-2020 06:17 AM

Publix has whole frozen duck in the case with the Turkeys. I also like Duck breast and then I boil down the rest of the meat and make duck and sausage pasta.

Winn Dixie meat department ask your butcher there, also other places like Wildwood meat, etc. They should have it.

Aldi's has whole frozen duck on sale periodically. Don't know if always in freezer but I pick them up when on sale.

benoitgad 11-10-2020 08:06 AM

Aldi has whole ducks only during holidays. I bought 2 last week as they finally came back. Also Best meat on 301 in Wildwood carries them year round. Prices are very good for duck raised in the US.

I also love to make creamed duck and tried the duck at Publix which was totally overpriced. It had no flavor at all and I won't waste my money there again.

rogerk 11-10-2020 08:29 PM

Check with Fresh Market, on CR466. I UI saw them today. I do know they offer Turduken.

Nevermore 11-10-2020 10:25 PM

They are whole frozen ducks and I have seen them every time I go to Aldi. They are very inexpensive and taste great.

tophcfa 11-10-2020 10:41 PM

What the duck? It all tastes like chicken (the dark meat)!

Pinball wizard 11-11-2020 09:02 AM

Open your eyes, :1rotfl: If you are trying to make them feel inadequate, try posting the correct store spelling

It's Wabbit Season! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

My wife told me we had Duck from Public, I meant Publix about a year ago and that I complained it was the greasiest Chicken I ever had. It never occurred to me that she tricked me again. If I knew it was Duck I would have rejected it! Mongo doesn't eat Duck! No way. :ohdear:
