Is the Lofts pool a family pool?

I just called TV rec department to find out if the Lofts pool is a family pool. My grandkids are coming, and it would be nice to go to a pool where you can just walk into the water.

The rec department gave me a message saying it is closed to the public, and due to the governors order #20-91, all rec centers, courts, pools, and outside facilities are closed.

So... that's obviously incorrect. Does anyone know if the Lofts pool is a family pool, or who else should I try to call to find out?

My friends think it's a family pool because the renters of the Lofts would want to have their grandchildren there. But I would like to know for sure before disappointing a four- and one-year-old.

The pool at Fenney recreation center is a “walk in” type pool, I believe. Not sure if usage is limited to adults.

Just say....Whoops. This is the wrong pool and drive to another one close by. Little ones have always enjoyed the pool that was right behind our house when we lived in Hadley... The Odell pool. There are dozens like it that children can be safely carried into the shallow end.

It’s a Family Pool

Can any villager use grills and other things?

Kim Fowler 11-11-2020 12:49 PM

The Governor’s executive order 90-91 was issued April 1st. I’m guessing that the Rec Department just hasn’t updated its message, or somehow inadvertently defaulted to that old message. The District’s main page (districtgov dot org) does have announcements about storm prep, so pools may be closing.
Fenney’s pool is great for kids, and you also can take them on the short nature walk there to see some Florida wildlife. Good casual place to eat there too.

.

Do you think this answer is due to the potential hurricane coming? All the gates are removed. Golf courses are closing this afternoon (11/11). Maybe the person was giving you that closure update.

I hope that was the case, cause it is a family pool. However it’s small, and I would say Fenny pool is much larger

I wondered that too after I read that TV was closing things up. I think because they mentioned governor's order, it might be that they just reused that message.

Can someone tell me how to get from BV & 466A to the Fenney pool?

I realize you are maybe closer to The Lofts, but if all fails, remember the pool in Fenny at the restaurant is a zero gravity, is open for families, and also food available, so nice choice for a day with visitors and so nice for younger children.

What is a zero gravity??

noslices1 11-12-2020 06:07 AM

Buy a map of The Villages and all the pools are shown what type they are. Don’t know if they are up to date with all the new builds yet.

solomon 11-12-2020 06:08 AM

YES...it is a FAMILY POOL...

Northerner52 11-12-2020 06:25 AM

I don't care for the family pools. They are too shallow for adults. A pool for adults should be deeper. What would be better is a separate pool for the kiddies next to the adult pool.

If you have a smart phone, download The Villages app. It has a “Destinations” selection that will show exact directions to anywhere in TV by auto or golf cart.

wsachs 11-12-2020 07:49 AM

Take 466 to 301 and go south. Go past the turnpike until you reach Warm Springs (468) and then go left. 301 does a slight bend to the right so don't miss your turn. Entrance to Fenney on the right. Also Google Maps works just fine.

Rodebd1 11-12-2020 07:50 AM

My understanding is you must be a resident of the Lofts to use that pool.

Maybe if they don’t like the people around they can turn off the gravity and they just float away? If not, could we consider having something like that installed at assorted places around the Bubble?
If that wasn’t what was meant, i too want to know what WAS meant. Thank you.

kendi 11-12-2020 08:21 AM

Yes it is. We asked during our tour of the lofts

Sunflower33 11-12-2020 08:33 AM

Head north on 466A turn right on Morse Blvd. Take that for about 5 to 6 miles and Fenny is on your left

Gmaf6 11-12-2020 08:44 AM

Yes, Villagers may use the grill....best to make a reservation and note that the area closes at dusk when the family pool does. They do, however, ask that you leave the grill and area the way you found it, cleaning up as with all the facilities.

PennBF 11-12-2020 08:45 AM

Agree

I agree with the person who suggested there should be an adult pool and a child's pool next to it rather than having the two combined. If a child should, by accident, poop in a pool there are laws that govern what must be done next. When we owned a condo on the beach which had a pool if a child had an accident the pool had to be completely drained, cleaned up with strong cleaner and then refilled. I believe, but not positive this was also a Florida Heath Dept. mandate. It's one thing to correct the problem in a child's pool vs a large adult pool! There were attempts to control this exposure by setting age limits to use the pool, no child without a diaper would be allowed, etc, etc. but some parents would insist they wanted their child in the pool and bingo it had to be closed and drained. Just a thought.

Gmaf6 11-12-2020 08:45 AM

Any Villager, and guests with ID, May use the pool.

RuthA 11-12-2020 07:02 PM

The pool at Fenny is a walk in pool and kids can go there.

OrangeBlossomBaby 11-12-2020 10:47 PM

Just remember these basic rules for family pools:

Quote:

It is requested that children 36 months of age and younger wear protective swim products.

Running, horseplay and throwing of any objects in the pool or deck area is prohibited.
Noodles, unbreakable masks, goggles, and small plastic buckets are the only items allowed in the pool.
Please encourage small guests to take bathroom breaks.
Approved life vests are permitted. Infant and toddler flotation devices are allowed with adult supervision.

Yes, we have been there several times. In the grilling area they have an sink, ice machine and refrigerator. You will have to go inside and show ID to get the grilling utensils.

We go over there and BBQ with friends and then take a dip in the beautiful pool. They also have a sitting area with a fireplace which is very nice too.

Did you mean an infinity pool (no walls around it)?

I think he/she meant zero entry. Not a lot of seating at the Fenney pool. There are also family pools at DeLuna, and Marsh Bend. Marsh Bend is not zero entry DeLuna might be, I was there but can't remember.

ogme480 11-13-2020 08:57 PM

All the pools by category on one map. The Lofts is a family pool.
