.
How will YOU be spending Thanksgiving and DINNER? Poll - 1 choice - Anonymous poll. . . |
Our plans are not listed as an option, we will be staying home and having only three guests (about 30 less than most years), and we will be spending the entire time outdoors and sitting far apart. Hoping for good weather or we will have to change our plans.
|
Hosting 9 adults/3 children [with an option for 2 more adults and 1 child] at Disney for 4 days in 6 villas/studios with a come when you want T-giving Dinner from noon to 6pm on Thurs! Also celebrating one 75th birthday and one 50 yr wedding anniversary! Each guest receives hand sanitizers, wipes, masks and spray disinfectant [kids hand sanitizers have Mickey stickers on them!]. Main villa will be sprayed periodically during the day. Dinner /cake catered by Publix; all utensils/plates/cups are disposable plastic! Guests arriving from North and South Carolina and California!!!!! Who knows when we all might gather again unless it's a funeral. Life is too short to give this up!

Turkey day
Going to a friend's home here in TV. Just 2 . We have been doing dinners or visits since the beginning of CDC recommended protocols. Friend is single no family same as me. 1+1=2 and continued social distancing.
|
One son in town now, from out west, quarantining for two weeks as a precaution. Daughter and boyfriend and child from Miami. dinner inside. very traditional. Mental health consequences of not getting together very, very significant, especially in older population....nothing to be minimized. When we go out, will mask if go indoors to shop, Won't mask in open air and not near people. At the lakes and the trails/courses, the animals won't be masking and neither will we Happy Thanksgiving.

With as many family friends as possible. If your afraid stay home
|
There will be 3 of us. Son and one grandson visiting. Will miss having a large crowd but son would prefer just the 3 of us. Ok by me just to spend quality time with 2 of my favorite men in my life. Happy Thanksgiving all. Stay safe.

I have no regrets, and before anyone else jumps on their virtue bus and turns on the signals.. we have been getting together with family and friends of all age groups since probably since April! We are all well, we are doing great and I can promise you it’s not gonna stop stop us! Stop reading propaganda and watching TV look at the CDC sites, look at the other doctors recommendations, the risk is so minimal is it worth losing losing a year of your life? We will decide who has the regrets a year from now...it won’t be us... enjoy your holidays!

Nothing like telling the world where you’re going to be on a certain day at a certain time. Thieves love these polls!
|
Going out to dinner
1 couple + 1 friend, all who have been social distancing. Eating at an outdoor patio.

Surely "thieves" have better methods to scout out targets... ... even thieves NOT named Shirley use other methods. (Airplane movie reference) . . |
But...
I’m sure thieves know exactly who “BumpaOompa” is and where they live.....

Ohio St. vs Michigan And to the person that thinks turkeys are the winners this year, with so many people gathering in twos rather than eight-plus, I think many more turkeys have their necks on the line (literally) this year. |
After 7 months of basically being a shut in alone I already flew to be with family for the holidays. Life is too short. It's so wonderful being with family again. They are all careful, took covid tests just before I came, all negative. They wear masks, use sanitizers and wash hands all the time as do I. Took first flight of the day, plane had only 43 people so they actually moved people for more distancing before we flew out. I got moved to first class as did another senior lady. Wonderful experience all around and people here don't go out without masks on so I do feel safe. Very glad I made the choice to go and have the holidays with family. Everyone should do what they are comfortable doing and try to have as good a holiday as they can. Life is too short anyway, covid or no covid.

I pick other. I would lie to do serve food to the homeless. Does anyone know of organization that is doing this in The Villages. I only have a golf cart and can not travel. Any info would be helpful.
|
We will be having our children and grandchildren from Nashville, TN and our daughter and her family who live here over for dinner. We will be eating inside without masks and thanking God for His grace and provision. We do not buy into the mass hysteria that surrounds a virus that has a 99.9% recovery rate.
|
Sorry my reply was poorly written and I did not proof read. I would like to serve food to the homeless or needy. I live in The Villages and only have a golf cart for transportation so my volunteer work would have to be in the confines of The Villages.
|
We are as well! Great place to be ANY time of the year........just got to wear the damn mask. What a load of CR**!

It appears in the bulletin they are just reinforcing the recommendations. (Not some drastic change) For your benefit here is the CDC bulletin: Scientific Brief: Community Use of Cloth Masks to Control the Spread of SARS-CoV-2 | CDC |
Household members only and virtually with family and friends. Because we plan to have many more Thanksgivings in the future.

Have barb wire and claymores around your house?

We're having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner at our dinner table in the dining room. Charcuterie cheese board as an appetizer. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, asparagus, mac & cheese, rolls, pie and wine to toast. We have enough room to socially distance at our large dining room table and I can open windows for added ventilation, as needed.
