Sumter County Food Pantries

In place of our usual year end charitable contributions, we’d like to donate funds to a food pantry that directly serves Sumter County residents. We are looking for suggestions of such organizations. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sumter county fl food pantry - Bing

Also every year there is a barrel at Laurel Manor rec center to collect new toys, stable food items, and new pajama's to be distributed to the children of families who live in Ocala Forest. I am pretty sure that you can find a barrel at all regional rec centers for that purpose.

There is an article in today's newspaper about "Seeds of Hope-Wildwood," a nonprofit supporting both the Wildwood Food Pantry and Wildwood Soup Kitchen. They collect both funds and food donations. Donors can send a check made out to Seeds of Hope-WSK (Wildwood Soup Kitchen) to P.O. Box 243, Wildwood, FL 34785. The article doesn't say how to send a check specifically for the Food Pantry. I think you could call the Wildwood United Methodist Church, Seeds of Hope sponsor, to find out.

Thank you for the address. When my mother came to live with us this was a charity she supported. She carefully vetted charity organizations including some animal shelters.

That is correct. The food is donated to Our Mother of Mercy Food Pantry which serves over 100 families in Wildwood. They take both non-perishable food and monetary donations.

Sumter county sheriff's office is collecting NON perishable food. Call 352-689-4600 for more info.

Grace Tabernacle on Warm Springs Road has a food pantry. They collect on M & W mornings...just drive around to the back. They distribute food on Tuesdays, so that isn't a good time to go.

Our neighborhood collects food every month and donates to Grace Tabernacle Church. They feed about 100 families a week.

the children of Ocala is a great charity. keep in mind, if you shop @ wynn-dix, they have food bag options @ the checkout. $5 will get you 1 bag of food to be distributed.

Not sure how the SA works in USA.
Here in UK their 'soldiers' get minimal pay, basically a living wage and accommodation.
Many are full time clergy and get no pay.
No one gets rich like many charities.
They are always first on scene at major disasters with their snack wagons for the rescue services.
I and many here in UK have a lot of time for them.

Never see one of their ministers floating around in private jets, like some of these so called evangalists!

ST Theresa Soup Kitchen is in desperate need this year, my husband went by to drop off a donation and said the lines were pitiful, anything would help them, they feed the people in our area, we will try and do more this year. Please send anything you can.
I am not associated with St Theresa but even $1.00 would help them this year
