Why not try calling your favorite restaurant you may need a reservation. Personally we have never gone out planning on Prime Rib this year at home

As a Jewish person who goes out on Christmas Day,
I can tell you for certainty that most of the Chinese restaurants will be open.

bowlingal 12-16-2020 08:54 AM

advertising in the daily sun will give you lots of options..usually country clubs are open. if you don't get home delivery of the daily sun, you can buy it at any mail station for 50 cents

While we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, it has always been tradition for our children to go out for Chinese. The three of them could have conversations away from the household and the hustle and bustle. Enjoy a few hours and eat as much Chinese as possible.

Tradition started when the oldest was 16, 10, 4. This year they are all going to a Chinese restaurant in different states. Zoom will be involved in the lunches, pretty sure the conversation will be the same and different this year. All in medical fields so won’t travel. One will eat at the same Chinese restaurant since 1985.
Ages this year 51, 45, 39.

Go to The Villages Gourmet Club search page... Click Here.

Scroll down to selection 4a. Select Special Interest.

Select Open on Christmas Day from the drop-down.

Click on the green Search button at the bottom of the page.

View the results and verify by calling the restaurant that interests you.

We’ve lived here for fifteen years and have found that NOTHING is open on Christmas Day. Maybe try a nearby WaWa, although it wouldn’t surprise me if they had their food service shut down as well.

Macevoyja 12-16-2020 10:17 PM

Perkins on 27/441 in Spanish Springs. Tip well... it’s Christmas.

I disagree, I found 16 restaurants open on Christmas Day within The Villages. The Gourmet Club's website is great for this.

Nobody should have to work on Christmas day. I hope extra large tips are the norm.

bilcon 12-17-2020 06:56 AM

Havana CC is definitely opened Christmas with a special menu. Check the web sites, and they will usually tell you. Better make reservations.

And what if you don't celebrate Christmas? More people celebrate Eid al-Fitr, than Christmas.
Shut down gas stations, transportation, hospitals on Christmas? Pretty crazy idea.

Salaam Alaikum my brother.

Have you been able to find Halal Chicken and Rice here yet?

How dare the infidels close and not provide good food for us devout.

All praises and blessings to the Prophet.

Topspinmo 12-25-2020 05:40 PM

Yep, just what I want to do, go to restaurant during super spreader event. See if VH exceeds 100 next week?

Yes...please stay at home...there is much to fear...please stay safe. More importantly, dont go out until covid is gone for at least 6 months.

I have been foolish for the past nine months. I went to restaurants that were half empty and forced myself to enjoy a meal.

Please...comtinue to stay at home and be safe.

When the devout open up a decent falafel joint, I'll be in line with you. Til then - it's potstickers from Sam's club, pimiento cheese for a snack, and leftover macaroni and meatballs from last night's dinner tonight.
